My prayers are with you and your uncle; I'm sorry that you're going through this difficult time, especially while you're trying to lose weight.  My "advice" to you, although it's probably not very good, try to force down some healthy food--fruits & veggies, berries are delicious this season, so that your risk of binging isn't as great.  Don't keep too many treats around either so that if/when you binge you don't binge on sugary or fatty foods...I wish that I could have more helpful advice...

Try praying for help when you feel like you want to binge on crappy food, or whenever you need help with dieting...or anything...it's ok to pray for yourself you know, i feel like some people don't feel comfortable with it, like it's selfish, especially when others around you are in need, but God takes care of everyone, so ask for His help!

Weighed myself today...I'm at 141, but on a different scale than what I have been using as I'm home from school for a week or so.  So, down 2 pounds after my terrible week last week, which is good :)  I am pleased.  6 more pounds or so.

Being home helps my diet so much!  My mom is a health freak (with the exception of all of the CANDY which she loves so much!!!) so we eat very healthy meals and snacks, and I feel like I'm more conscious of what and how much I eat when I'm around my family because they know I'm trying to lose weight and would be so judgemental if they saw me eat a bunch of junk, unlike my boyfriend who brings junk to my apartment and eats it with me instead of discouraging me from it.  He doesn't want to offend me, but I want him to cut me off!

I brought one of my fitness DVDs home so me and my sister are going to work out together later.  Cardio Kickbox, part of Jillian Michael's Biggest Loser DVDs.  It's the only one out of the set for which you do not need dumbells, and I didn't want to pack mine. 

Hopefully everyone's doing good out there!!!  Stay motivated!  I've been trying to keep a positive outlook!

Lauren - thanks for your words of wisdom!  I've already lost 2 of those pounds just by going back to my regular eating habits :)  And, your blog inspired me to start my own.  It's fun!

Stukay - Don't you think vacations are the best motivator?!  I haven't wore a bikini in 7 years or so, and I am so ready to wear the two adorable ones I bought earlier in the summer!!!  I think that I look just o.k. in them now, with a few more pounds lost I'll look great!

I'm like you guys too, Karen and Lauren, I try to plan my meals to between 800-900 calories and then I can have some snacks and munch here and there, I've been doing really well with that system.  I also try to eat between 12-1400 calories a day.

I've found a new favorite piece of cardio equipment at the gym.  It's called the Arc Trainer and I find that I burn calories more efficiently on there than I do on the elliptical.  It's very similar to the eliptical only your legs move in more of a horizontal direction than with the eliptical.  I really have fun with it, especially at the nice gym (I'm at college and there are a few gyms to choose from) where they have little personal television screens at each cardio machine!  It is so nice, what a great distraction.  I just watch music videos the whole time and don't even realize how much work I'm doing.

I am SO in with you.  This weekend was the worst eating weekend of my life, and I'm supposed to be dieting!!!  It was horrible.  Awful.  I want to cry just thinking about everything that I un-did in the past 3 days.  Mortifying.  But there's nothing I can do about all of that now.  Just have to move on and do better...

So, yeah, I'm in the final push as well.  My goal weight is between 130-135, anywhere in that range would be great.  Right now I am at 143 (on Friday I was 139.8...tells you what my weekend was like...again, I want to cry...).  I plan on exercising 6 times a week and keeping my calories in the 1200-1400 range, trying to stay closer to 1200.  I'm going on vacation to Mexico in just 31 days and want to look my best...it's crunch time...

Ok, all, I think I've got it.  Thanks for everyone's recommendations!!!  After talking with my boyfriend, I think we've decided on a $100 - $150 (depending on how much money we make this summer Smile) gift certificate to this fancy pants steakhouse, called Ruth's Chris Steakhouse.  I've never been there myself, or heard of it, but he says it's real nice and the website sure makes it look fabulous and pricey.  I think it sounds like a great idea for the newlyweds to go out and enjoy drinks and a delicious dinner together!

Let me preface this by saying that I am not a healthcare professional!  But, I am on birth control and I tend to do that--make sure I don't have my period when I'm on vacation, etc.  I don't think that it is the best thing for you, but it isn't the worst either, especially because you're not sexually active.  I've done it a number of times and never had any ill effects except for maybe some spotting, so wear a panty liner when you can for the week that you skip your pills.  Have fun at the beach!  :)

Hi, my name is Kara, I'm 19, and I have 11 pounds left to loose.  I have lost 18 pounds so far. 

11 pounds from now, I will weigh 135 pounds.  I will look hot in a bikini.  Everything will be great.

But, that isn't until I lose 11 more pounds...which I have been struggling with since, oh, December.  I'm doing something terribly wrong, obviously, if I've been at the same weight for 3 months now.  Snacking is definitely my biggest weakness.  My plan is to cut out the snacks of the unhealthy variety and replace them with carrots and fruit and other healthy foods if I feel that I need to eat something.  Wish me luck!

Keep up the great work!!! :)  I had a similar moment this morning when I weight myself and I'm in the 140's for the first time in 5 years or so!!! :)  It's those little things that make you feel so great!

Hmmm...lent is coming, huh?  I need to give up something food-related for sure.  Late night snacking.  No eating after 8:00pm, unless it's like carrots or something (as it is typically pizza, cookies, etc.)  Ahh this is going to be a tough one for me--my boyfriend always eats late at night and I get trapped too!  I also need to go to church more...I will make it there every Sunday of Lent!

This is an oldish post, but...the only time I've ever worn a bikini was in 8th grade.  That's about 8 years ago.  I am more than determined to wear one proudly and hot-ly (not a word, just work with me people) this summer when i go to Mexico with my boyfriend and his family.  Hell yes.

I was a crazy college freshman last year and went out and drank about 4 nights a week.  No wonder I gained 10 pounds in just a few months.  This year I only drink on the weekends and during the day when I know that I'm going to be drinking later, I try and eat 500 less calories than usual since I typically have 5 beers when I go out.

everyone has great ideas!!!  love the simply irresistable video thing!  i want to do that next year!!!

this year i'm going to be daphne from scooby doo and my boyfriend is going to be shaggy.  i'm sure we're going to hear a lot of "it's daphne and fred, not daphne and shaggy" but he is more of the shaggy type (skinny, dark hair, scruffy) than the fred type.  i'm excited because i just got a purple dress and purple shoes--i can wear those any time--and then i got a red wig and some bright green fabric for a scarf!  sooo excited for halloween!

I went to Rita's tonight with my boyfriend and switched from the usual kiddie sized ice to a shake.  Way too many calories for how good it wasn't. Frown At least now I'll know not to change from my regular!

Yesterday, I wasn't doing CC.

Today, I am back on after not counting calories or doing pretty much anything for a few months.  I've done my workout for the day, and I feel great!

Now I just have to focus on eating healthy things in my fridge after Lab today.  Oh, and I budgeted some alcohol into my caloric intake today.  I'm a college student; it's Friday.  C'mon.  Smile

Tomorrow is going ot be even better than today!!!

sorry, all, for not posting...ive been on vacation which of course totally RUINED whatever small progress i had made...but now i am back and ready to start back up again!  i mean it.  Smile  i see my boyfriend again in about a month and some days, and his parents too, so i'd like to do some hard work til then.  his brother's girlfriend is super skinny, probably unhealthy skinny, which i don't want to be, but i dont want to be the fat girlfriend, either...so i mean i have motivation!  i'll be updating on wednesdays with you all!  Smile
