Its Tuesday! Its my 8th wedding anniversary. Congrats annulyju on joining the club. Its flown by and I don't think I feel much different than you do! Starting weight: 155 9/24: 156.4 After a whole summer of bouncing around 155-156 I think I am seeing some progress! Can't tell you what I'm doing different. Maybe its just less parties & vacations and other opportunities to just say heck with it. |

I forgot to weigh in last week. I think I was 155.6 and today I am 154. It was a bit lower over the weekend, so I hope I am starting to actually lose. My numbers have been bouncing around all summer. Up down up down, but never more than 5-6 lbs down. How's everyone doing? |

| I have flat feet and get PF pain. I been able to walk and even run with the right shoes and over the counter inserts. There's a running store near me that tapes your walking and jogging and watches it in slow motion to see what correction you need. There's two components, correcting your overall movement (done by the shoes), and helping heal the arch and stop the pain (inserts). So the best thing is to find a running store that offers both. If you go to a specialty footwear store, they will usually have various inserts, but not a lot of knowledge of the movement stuff. Good luck! |

I am in the same boat! Just turned 34. 5'5". 155. I am about 10 lbs. heavier than I was last year and it seems like I am always fighthing to lose, but steadily creeping up! I have been in a cycle where every couple of years I gather up some serious will power, almost reach my goal, then slowly creep back up. Its getting harder and harder, no doubt because of age. I have to lose once and for all! |

| Oh, and here's a suggestion. If you want to talk yourself out of it, make a barbecued pork butt this weekend (or day off). Cook it super slow, like 4 hours or more low heat. Baste occasionally. Its done when it pulls easily. It comes out tasting like carnitas and pulls apart the same way, but since its barbecued instead of cooked in fat, its way less calories. Some of the fat cooks off the meat and its not that fatty in the first place. Its just how they cook it traditionally! Then you can make your own healthy sides, have leftovers for the week. You can resist tonight knowing you'll have something just as good, but healthy this weekend. It might work in the oven, but I've never tried it. I'd think you'd have to put it on a broiler pan so the fat drains. |

| I would skip the rice, beans, and tortillas and ask for salad instead. I have found that some Mexican places give me a really great salad with all kinds of veggies. Sometimes its just lettuce. I am surprised at how accommodating Mexican places can be. The other option would be to get a couple of carnitas tacos a la cart to keep the portions small before it even gets delivered. Then you get the carnitas but just not so much. If its not enough food, find some kind of salad or veggies on the menu or eat a big snack of something before you go. Mmm. Sounds good! |

I don't know if I trust my scale one bit on the BF measurement, but its the lowest one I've seen yet. :) I agree with you steelerfan, it is hard. Just plain hard. But good advice bpcrue. This isn't just about losing some lbs. Think how much better off we'll be later in life if we're committed to a healthy lifestyle. The benefits are so much more than just looking a certain way. Fall is better than summer for me (in terms of eating), so I am optimistic. No more vacations, birthdays, fewer parties. This is a great time for produce around here too (Northern Cali). Its funny how its kinda sad when these things are ending! |

Ok, I will have to update this later as the new scale takes some configuration before it will tell the body fat, and I didn't have time this morning. Sw: 152.6 (old scale said 149!) GW: 140 BMI: 25.3 BF%: 31.9% I am really excited about adding this new element to the challenge, because I was really hovering throughout the 42 day challenge. I am working with a personal trainer for the first time ever, and I am feeling mustle definintion so I think that must be why I am not losing much, even though I am doing pretty good with the calories. In the past, if I've been this good for this long I see more progress on the scale. Good luck to all! |

Marmel-- I'll definately be on board for your next challenge. This is the point where I get frustrated and think, I can't possibly have to try this hard to lose 5 or so lbs, no one else around me is trying, Its not making a difference, I just won't worry about it and, I'll eat like everyone else. And then before you know it I'll be 10 lbs. heavier in a year or so. More challenge will be good. I have to break the cycle!!! I'm going to turn 34 next month and its not getting any easier! Good luck everybody! Lets make this last week the best one yet! |
