Karey: You are so right about the protein powder. When I made pancakes the really only needed like a min each side or else they were rubbery. it is so nice when strangers comment on you! I freaking love it, but at the same time it is kinda awkward! haha! Gald you got a boost to your day!

Soraya: yay for free stuff!! haha!

Me: I managed to get up and run at 6:30 this morning hungover from going to bed at 1am! woot! I rock my own socks! haha! Nad the scale dropped me another lb, aside from the hangover today is a good day!

Soraya: Hope your sciatica is feeling better!! Hooray for the kick off party!! Congrats! Hope you drank lots of water to feel better! That's how I've been trying to feel about working out too! Make it top priority! I find it best to do in the am cuz then I still have the whole rest of the day to do whatever I want!

Karen: The softball game was fun! Managed to booze eat a burgers and hotdogs and still weigh less the next day! Yay! Probably helped that Mr. Pete shared my food.

Karey: Keep up the good work! I finally managed to get up this am and get a weights workout in! It's felt so good! I wore a dress to work today and everyone keep commenting on how musclar my legs are! Really? My legs?? Are you sure?? haha And I know it's late but Happy Anniversary!! All you're anniversary food sounds so delicious!!

Mandy: So glad you're finally seeing results!! Congratulations!! For the first weekend in a long time I was really good with my food too!! Yay!

Me: Made some yummy things from the hungry girl cookbook. Made the blueberry muffins and had meant to put Protein powder in the but forgot! Boo. Next batch I'll try to remember! Went mechanical bull riding friday night and boy was I sore and bruised the next day! It was loads of fun though!

Damn it's busy in here! JUst like the good old days! Haha

Zima: I feel you on the PMSing. There was no need to stuff myself full of cupcakes the other day but I did anyway! Haha. Yesterday was lots of bad eating too but to my surprise I weighed less this morning than last.  Probably cuz most of my eating was done before 7pm yesterday.  The night before I made mac & cheese at 10pm.  You're lunch sounds so good!! I need kebabs STAT!

Soraya: And my mom was just mentioning how there hadn't been many fires this year. Ha guess she jinxed it!! You're not fat again!! Just pound some water and get back to healthy and those lbs will be gone in no time! The same thing happens to me when I eat badly it all goes to my belly. It's mostly bloat from all the bad foods digesting. You'll be ok!!

Karey: I wussed out on weights this am, and I have a work softball game tonight so I'm not sure I'll get anything in! Well softball should count for something right?? I was up at 6:15 but snuggling with the BF was so much better than working out! Haha. Yesterday was the first day I've seen him since Saturday. Our schedules aren't meshing this week. Boo... Doesn't all the cooking ahead of time really clear your mind?? I love it! There's no thought involved when you're hungry and it's great! I would through the protein powder in the muffins I don't think you'll notice. I made pancakes with only PP once and they were pretty good flavor wise, only the texture was a bit off. Sorry your hormones are still crazy! Hope you balance out soon! Whoo hoo to pushing through and getting in a weights workout!!

Gina: Have fun in PA!!!!

Mandy: Wow the fire was close to you! Glad to hear you're safe!!

Me: Softball game with the co workers!! Woot! I'm excited and I'm gonna have to play for serious and mkae it a workout! Haha! And I'm gonna have to limit the beers.... we'll see how that goes....

Oh, admit it, you are getting it for yourself.

Soraya: Glad you and Sabriyya are both feeling better!! Is there Kashi Stuff in cali?? Try their pizza, it's really good and not bad for you at all! I love their thin crust flavors.

Gina: Sorry you didn't meet your goal weight! It's ok just keep up the good work! Nice that Brock can housesit for you. I really need to find a good dog sitter, no one seems to take care of Pete they way I want. Dive into that hungry girl book ASAP! They're so many good things to help curb cravings! I've been running on the TM inside and the heat is still killing me! We should be getting a break from the humidity by the weekend, thank god! The new guy sounds pretty cool, sucks he lives so far away though.

Karey: Hey you! yeah we're trying so hard but you keep coming back!! LOL! I would make black beans, I love beans I could eat them with everything. Speaking of I have a can of chickpeas begging to be made into hummus! Haha

Me: I was supposed to do weights last night, but I was still way too sore! I just walked and stretched a bunch. Feeling better today did C25K and more stretching this am, I should be good to go for weights tomorrow!

Soraya: You gotta give me your last name so I can find you on facebook.  I like to weigh in everyday, I think it keeps me honest. I find that when I avoid it the scale always goes up. I need to see the numbers to know where I'm going. I feel you on the late night eating!! I've been having tea with cream and a piece of biscotti as an after dinner snack and that seems to help me make it through the night for under 150 cals.

Karen: As long as you keep up the good eating I think you'll be ok! Hopefully you can get some sleep soon!

Mandy: I know how the not being able to walk feels!! My legs have been killing me since the new routine on sunday. ugh. I'm trying to not baby my legs and keep walking normal, plus stretching every second I can! Hopefully that gets me feeling normal soon.

Me: Humidity is killing me!! Trying to do C25K and couldn't get through it cuz I was so hot and felt like I couldn't breathe! That could also have to do with the fact that I'm still a little sick from last week. Hopefully the humidity breaks and this cold goes away so I can get running.

Weight Loss Does muscle really weigh more than fat? Aug 04 2009

pound for pound, yes they are the same. But muscle is denser so more of it takes up less space. So if you compared the same mass amount the muscle would weigh more. Hope that helps

Im 5'6" and right now I weight about 117? My lowest was 108. Im think 120 is good for me to reach, 125 would be better though. Pre-ed i was really overweight and was up arounf 150 so im not really sure where I should be. Ive never been comfortable with my body.

Just so you know that's not "really" overweight, that just barely pushing you over the normal to slightly overweight line.

OP: If that's the weight you we maintaining before without any issue it sounds like a perfect weight to gain to. It's good for you to have that 20 BMI cushion in case of illnesses or slip ups. Keep up the good work!

Mandy: Hope you're feeling better after friday! Keep up the good work and I'm sure you'll be fine next bootcamp session!

Gina: Sucks your power went out! How was your date??

Karey: Is your new group called "keeping your sexy back"?? hahaha! Well glad to know you "ditched" us for something good! haha I agree with you though. It upsets me a bit when people seems to be making weight loss so important. especailly when most of them are already at a healthy weight. So funny you bring up the making food for a week thing, because that's all I did sunday!! Cook, cook. cook! It really does ease my brain! I made a turkey stir-fry to go over steamed cabbage, beef soup, split pea soup,  (yeah I know that makes no sense since it's been beyond humid in NY but I just really wanted soup!) and buffalo chicken dip (a rather naughty snack but it's loaded with protein and I pair it with a toasted high fiber tortilla so it's rather filling).

Me: Started a new workout plan, and I'm gonna try and rotate my workouts every 8 weeks. I think it'll be easier to process that way, ya know? Cuz I'll always know something new is coming.  Also I've decided to try to lose weigh a .5 lb a week. Stressing to get 1-2 lbs a week just makes me grumpy when I fail.  We'll see how this works....

WEEK 6: MIND OVER MATTER

Well my new approach is to keep changing things up. Every 8 weeks I come up with a new workout routine and every month I create new goals for myself.  I find it easier to thing in terms of " I only have to workout like this for 6 more weeks" instead of thinking " I need to exercise like this until I'm at my goal weight.

Also  understanding that slow and steady wins the race, and this is the hardest thing to learn!! GRRRRR!!!!  Now I'm only looking to lose .5 lbs a week, rather than the 1-2lbs I uaually want.  It makes everything feel less taxing. Sure I won't be at the skinny weight I want for this summer, but next summer I will and everything will be maintainable!!

Morning ladies! How is everyone doing?? I feel like this week is moving so fast!! Can't believe it's already Thurs! Not that I'm complaining or anything! haha!

Tonight and tomorrow are pretty busy for me. I've gotta paint this awesome old school crib for my cousin's baby shower on saturday. I've had this thing for a month already!! You think I would have been smart and started this earlier!! Ugh.

Anywhoo then Friday it's happy hour with the coworkers! I need to be good and not do any serious damage to myself.  By the time we get to the bar after work there's just about 1 hour left of happy so I'll only drink during that hour than I'll head out. Should only be about 2 drinks and that shoud easily work into my cals.

Have a good day everyone!

WEEK 5: MY REWARD - How will you reward yourself when you finally get to your goal?

Oh I came up with a way better reward for myself! New Bras!! God I can't remember the last time I bought any and the few I have need to be replaced! But nice ones are expensive and I always have such a hard time finding the right size

I suggest everyone go to a good boutique and get properly fitted. I was wearing the wrong size and never knew there were half sizes! And what a difference it makes having the girls in the right place! Definately worth the time and effort....though I did skip out and buy my bras somewhere else after the fitting - heh heh.

I totally agree with you! Maybe getting a serious bra fitting hould be my reward instead! I try on hundreds of sizes before I can ever find something that fits right! Most of the time I go home with nothing and feeling totally defeatde!
