Fitness running question? Aug 20 2008

I am a runner and I also do sit ups and pushups after a run. I run three times a week 5k. Also it's good to do some uphill hiking once a week, nothing to hard.

Also keep in mind that running will not give instant results, you will probably have to run 3 times a week for at least six months before you look like like they do on t.v.

If you give up every time you slip up a little, you'll never, ever be the weight you want. Just forget it happened and move on with life, nobody's perfect.

Your 5'2 and 124 lbs, take a break. That's a super normal weight and you probably look about ten times better than you think you do.

I had a couple of friends who threw up in highschool and they're both way overwieght now. They both ruined their metabolisms and they can't lose weight at all.

I would suggest giving yourself a cheat day during the week when you can eat whatever you want, and you won't have to feel guilty about it because you will have eaten well the other six days of the week.

oh I so know how you feel. Try putting fibresure in your water or juice, it dissolves completely and has no taste and it has 9 grams of fibre per tbls.

the reason is because the more fibre you eat, the more water you have to drink. If you don't up your water intake with your fibre intake you'll get "backed up"

this is the best idea ever.

Every time you cook something tomatoe based (such as spag sauce). Add a couple of jars of organic vegetable baby food. It's a cheap way to get healthy organic vegetables without accually having to taste them.

if you still want to have your pasta but want your child to eat healthy try putting a couple of jars of organic veg baby food in with the sauce. I do this every time and you really can't taste it at all and your getting cheap healthy vegetables.

Weight Loss Are irregular timed meals bad? Aug 10 2008

eating sporadically slows your metabalism because your body can never know when it's going to eat next so it stores fat just in case.

On another note, try melatonin for the sleeping problem. It's not a drug, it's a natural hormone produced by your body that tells you brain that it's time to sleep. I f your brain doesn't make enough of it you won't be able to go to sleep even if your tired. You take it every evening for a couple of weeks and it regulates your sleep schedule, It's great for shift work too.

this happens to me too. Try eating a big thick slice of bread and a big glass of water and see if the cravings go away, works for me.

Weight Loss Hunger at night... ? Aug 10 2008

If your breastfeeding you have to eat. Maybe try keeping a healthy snack and some water beside your bed.

I don't want to come off as harsh because I'm not really a mean person but you just had a baby a couple of months ago,for goodness sake woman EAT, if your hungry eat. It won't be long before the little ones sleeping through the night anyways and you won't have to deal with this anymore.

Weight Loss What should I do? Advice please Aug 10 2008

forget yesterday ever happened and move on. Eat your extra calories today and come out of this having learned something. The main difference between people who lose weight and people who don't is the ability too say to yourself, okay I messed up and I'm going to learn my lesson and move on.

However just because you overate yesterday don't just say, oh well I screwed up yesterday so I may as well eat whatever I want today. Like I said, forget that you messed up and just move on as if it never happened, cheating every once in a while doesn't ruin your whole plan, but using it as an exuse to continue cheating does.

I was in LITERALLY the exact situation, I'm even the same height and weight as you.  I figured out that when I was exersizing I wasn't pushing myself enough. So I started running a couple of times a week really hard until I couldn't run any more and I was all gross and dripping in sweat.

Sometimes ya just gotta do what ya gotta do, it sucks but even if your eating healthy and only eating junk food once in a while, you'll still hit a plateu every once in while where your body gets too used to the exersise your doing and you'll have to step it up for a while. Just try really pushing yourself really hard 2 or 3 times a week for a few weeks and see if it helps get your body back on track.

Try starting an exercise you like doing so you won't get bored and quit(I jog with wrist weights on so I build a bit of muscle), also, Don't starve yourself because as you've already figured out, you won't get "hot" that way.

Also don't get discuraged if you don't see instant results, if after 6 months you have lost weight and look better than you do now then your heading in the right direction. Instant results never last and don't accually make you look any better. I know six months feels like a long time but when your looking back on it you'll be glad you lost the weight the healthy way.

Also lots of water and fibre help with loosing weight and with cellulite, try to get 30 grams of fibre a day with water(or you'll get backed up), I suggest a product called fibresure, 9 grams of fibre per tbls.
