If you are on your feet continually from 6-10 at homeI would say light.  I know that I do NOT get an opportunity to sit down with kids and a house to look after and I don't know how working mums fit it all in! If you are go go go from 6 till 10 definitely light!

not you again tincognito!!! We seem to have a fair bit in common.  My husband was a nightmare when we got together only ate take away KFC and McDonalds and greasy pub meals like chicken schnitzel/parmigiana, lasagna etc etc...drove me crazy.  As is the case with your partner and ladykeliens it has a lot to do with his upbringing.  After his brother committed suicide (my hubby was 8) it made his mother sick to cook food anymore, so his dad took over the cooking (when they didn't get take-away meals).

Anyhow, I love my gourmet and multicultural food and we are really blessed here in Australia with some of the best and authentic restaurants, so I started taking him out to dinner.  Well! At first he would order the most predictable thing on the menu...boring, boring, boring...and then he would have a taste of what I had ordered (I had to convince him at first). The he would always ask for a taste. After a while he started saying/noticing that I always ordered something "better" than him and finally he started to ask me to order for him and we would share meals (swapping the plates half way through.  Now he orders for himself (thank god) and has developed his taste so much.  However, there are some things I still can't get him to eat like seafood (oysters, Morton bay bugs, scallops).  It was a long road to hoe!  We have been together now for 8 years.  As for meals at home is it possible to make healthy pita pizzas that he will eat?  And roast dinners are great.  If I were you I'd only make things that are easy to vary.  All that aside from the sound of your list you have been able to get him to adopt some new foods.  I reckon that if you can get a picky eater to drink that strawberry banana fusion you are doing pretty well really!

Weight Loss Is my scale playing a dirty trick on me? Jul 19 2008

Do you weigh yourself on carpet or other soft surface? That can cause digital scales to be wildly inaccurate.

Make sure your scale is on a hard even surface.

yeah...for sure...my digital scale even has a fit on the bathroom floor (a tiled floor where the tiles are very small and perhaps slightly uneven??)...so I do it in the kitchen.  You could try to test it by weighing something like a handweight!

You look so gorgeous in your profile pic...so exuberant and glowing with happiness.  I know that you might not always feel that way...but you sure do look like a positive person.

Also, Do some research  into a nutritious breakfast shake/drink and make sure that it's something that you can keep stocked up in the fridge so you can grab it as you run out the door.  Or pack your breakfast for work and take it with you.  I think that although it's really good to change aspects of your life you also need to know yourself and your weaknesses and plan accordingly.

Make sure you treat yourself...eat something once a week that you really look forward to no matter how evil it is, and when you feel like snacking in the evenings use this as inspiration to stave it off.  Also I keep sugar free lollies in the cupboard for anytime I have a snack attack and am always looking for different types so I don't get bored.

Again, I can't say this enough, you look so friendly and confident..some people would be longing to be just like you.....

Weight Loss execising everyday and eating everyday.. does losing weigth works? Jul 17 2008

1/2 kg to 1kg a week is a good healthyrate of loss and is similar to my own.  If you feel that you should be losing more because you are working so hard then remember that you are also building muscle and take that into account. A healthy, defined, person who ways for example 68kgs looks way better than a person of the same weight with very little muscle definition.  Exercising and building muscle will also help you burn cals more efficiently. Makre sure that you are eating plentiful and variedfoods or your body with think you are starving and hang on for dear life to that kgs.

I'd definitely be seeing a doctor.  I always look at my BM's as I want to make sure they are the right shape etc etc...I do have a prob in that recently I have been getting too much fibre and seem to be on the loo all of the time...but...I can't ever remember seeing food in my poop. Does anyone else find they need to cut back on fibre???

In my experience you often see food and texture in kids poop (I have 3 under 4), however their digestive tracks are not yet conditioned.  The younger they are and the less efficient their digestive system then the more food product you see.  The usual suspects are corn, carrot, mushroom, spinach etc etc.  Also could be put down to not chewing their food well enough I suppose...just some ideas. But I'd be going to the doctor if I were you :)

When I was a kid and would watch american sitcoms I honestly thought that you were all eating peanut butter with jelly (wobbly desert jelly)...what a picture that paints. How would you kepp that on a sandwich..lol

LOL, lisaroonie, you and me both!  I was born and raised in South Africa so also wondered about that.

Now that I live in the US I found out that:

jelly as you know it, is called Jello here.

Jelly as Americans know it, is a clear smooth jam.  No fruit pieces in it.  It is made in a similar way to jam, but then the whole mixture is strained so only the liquid is left.  This is then jelled.

Jam is jam (as you know it) made with whole fruit, chopped or crushed before adding.

Marmalade is still marmalade ;)

thank goodness you cleared that up!  I am so glad I didnt try to make one using the ingredients that I assumed were involved....still lmao about the jello and peanut butter image... Lis

Can someone tell me what's with the peanut butter and jelly thing???? I guess this means peanut butter and jam on the same sandwich?  What sort of jam do you usually use with the peanut butter, strawberry? Plum? or what about yellow jams like marmalades?  Is the peanut butter smooth or crunchy?  Being Australian I have never had one and am thinking about making one just to see what all the fuss is about! Just a bite of course :)

Recipes Low-fat Pizza Recipe... Anyone got one? Jul 07 2008

ditto claires reply re topping/sauce and in addition consider using Turkish pide/pocket bread or flat Lebanese bread for the base,  I have been doing that for many years and is fab and easy when in a rush.  I HATE reduced fat cheese as most of it doesn't melt properly. I use Mozzarella which is lower in fat than reg cheeses but is not as strong tasting so use in combination with a strong cheese that is lower in fat (love Danish Feta)....yum thinking of it now.

Also great snack is same pide/flat type bread brushed lightly with olive oil, sprinkled with lemon pepper and baked quickly in oven..makes great chips...arguably better than commercial crisps.... good luck
