Hey Genny, it is great that u got the off the scale. I don't know if I would have thrown it away but at least got it out of site. When u weigh urself multiple times and can get discouraged bc ur weight flucuates and it can be discouraging. Instead set that 1 day a week to weight urself and always weigh urself in the mornings. And ur also right abt going by how u feel. I dont know abt u but I feel good when my clothes fit btr even though I hadn't lost much weight. Another thing is if u are lifting wieghts then the scale will show u r heavier bc muscle weighs more than fat. Dont let the scale discourage you, go by how u feel. I use to be that person that steps on the scale several times a day too. |

hey I totally understand what u r going through. I went through it to when I was staying at home and even thought I am not at home anymore and have not been for a while I still get the same mixed signals from my parents. Yes it is hard to motivate urself when the ones u love send u mixed signals and play with ur mind. Another thing we have in common is not having energy to exercise. What I found to help is to get a group of friends or family members that are willing and supportive and set a challenge. My sisters, brother and I did that and I lost 20 lbs (even though I gained it back bc I stopped) it still worked. And when you push urself to workout you will find it gets easier and you get a lot more energy during the day and sleep well at night. My advice abt those who are not supportive are to ignore those comments and do ur research on losing weight. Know what u want in ur life and stick with it. Sometimes you do have to encourage urself. I'M REALLY PREACHING TO MYSELF HERE

Hey I just started this site and lifestyle change on yesterday. I did fine but wish I would have worked out more. My main downfall is motivation. I am 27, 5'4" and 260 lbs. I would like to be around 160. My head too big to be small...lol. When I weighed myself and saw I was about the same size as my dad it was depressing, my dad is a big guy. Even though I don't look like I weight that much it does affect my health and I need to change that quickly. I always find myself doing things to lose weight and when I start seeing results, for some reason I just fall off the ban wagon. Seems that that should push me harder to continue to get those results. |
