SW - 166.8 8/20 - 167.8 Today - 167.6 I am just about tired of this. On Friday I was at 166.4 and thought I'd break through to 165 this week, but alas, I am mid-cycle and retaining water, not to mention I was craving salt yesterday and had the dreaded RAMEN NOODLES! LOL!!! I've got two bottles of water on my desk waiting for my undivided attention. Congrats to all who loss! Keep up the good work. Keep pushing for those who stayed steady or gained a bit. |

I edited my post on page 1 this morning. I am back to right around my starting weight after 4 days of fried comfort foods. I fought to get back and made it. I should be at my goal on next weigh in. |

Wow! I did the analyiss to find I averaged 2002 calories over the past 16 days. My BMR is 1531 and I normally burn about 500 calories daily. No wonder my weight loss was crawling. I am basically maintaining. Last week I upped my A game and averaged about 1698 claories per day and loss a pound. I realized that 1700 is right about where I need to be combined with my 30 minutes of treadmill walk/jog and two 15 minute walks during my breaks to see my 1 pound per week loss.

Last week: 166.2 This week: 167.8 I am up due to pigging out and little exercise during my family reunion over the past 4 days. So, I just need to get myself back on track and rehydrated (I drank little water as well). Hoping for the number to go down by next weigh in. I averaged my calorie intake over the past 15 days and got 1894. I want to be around 1750 which seems like a good place for me to lose the pound a week I am striving for. Last night I came in at 1837 as well. We'll see what we can accomplish today. |

CW 166.8 I will start from here and do my Wednesday weigh in's from this #. I just finished the mid August 10lb weight loss challenge and I loss about 3-4 pounds. I have not seen a weight reduction in a very long time and am pleased at this accomplishment, but now I want to kick it into high gear to see a 1lb loss per week. We'll see! |

Well I am down 1 lb despite the fact that I am due for Aunt Flo today so I am very happy with that. I've kicked things up a notch since last weigh in and now use the eat, burn and activity meters to help me along. I am doing much better and hope to see a 1lb lose each week. I've lost about 3-4 pounds I think, but what's even better is that my co-worker told me I had loss weight the other day. I told her I was trying and she asked me how many pounds, I told her about 3, she said no way looks more like 6-8! I almost gave her a hug and kiss. The weight training definitely is helping me look toner and lighter than I am. Today I can feel the difference in the butt and thigh area on a pair of jeans I like to wear. They are looser and I thank God for that. I am seeking a new challenge, but also have an event in September that I'd like to be 5-6 pounds lighter for so that's motivation too. Best of luck to all. This weight loss thing is difficult but we can and will do it!Thanks for the encouragement and see you guys in the next challenge. |

I'd like to join over here. I am a member of the other short girls thread but I weigh much more than they do and am tired of looking at the 115 pound stuff. LOL!! I am 31, 5'1 and 166.2 pounds at my last weigh in. I joined CC in July but officially begin to use the eat and burn meter along with activity meter on 8/5. I am down 2.8 pounds since I begin this weight loss journey afresh on 7/7/08. I need to lose 30 pounds to be at my goal weight of 136. Losing weight has been quite the challenge but I have figured a few things out recently and plan to see how they work for me. I eat about 1750 calories per day and want to get that down to 1600. I work out daily and do calisthenics every other day (upper and lower body). I love to walk and wear a pedometer every day. My goal is to have a 500-700 calorie deficit, but right now it seems to be more around 400. My short term goal is 1 pound per week at first then 1.5 as I fine tune things. I want to be around 150 on my b-day in 4 months. |

Ermmm, I started out at 1 on July 4th and now I can do about 10 in a row (doing them 2-3 times per week). The goal is to get perfect push ups and not so much up the numbers. I am practicing bringing my body down as low as I can right now. I could do tons of the 'lady' push ups with knees down. Those things are so daggone easy compared to the really deal. |

Fabulous halizabeth! You can do it just push. I will be out of town on Friday and am expecting my AF this week, so it may not be a good thing to weigh in. I've kicked my workout up a notch to try to forge some results. Still need to get the calories under control though. I am at 1700 so fruit for the rest of the night! |

Okay I'll check that out. Well today I came in at 1799, my goal is 1600. I am not exercising today either so my burn is at about 1900 as opposed to my 2200 estimate. I am rebeling! I just have to refocus and get it going. I really wanted to be 10 pounds lighter for a family reunion I am attending, but its not gonna happen, so I just have to figure out how to dress to best flatter my puffy figure. I am not giving up until I get this...I am watching fit tv right now about obesity in america. its alarming! |

Well if I wasn't doing so much already I'd be more positive, but I do so much. I used to eat 2300-2600 calories, I cut to 2000, then 1600 with 10k steps a day plus weights 4-5 times per week. Dammit I am tired. But what's a girl to do? I cannot give up. I just have to keep tweeking things. thanks for the encouragement. |

Well after trying again this week I am up .4 pounds. I am just about ready to throw in the towel for this weight loss thing. Its so frustrating. I started using the logs and food and activity logs. Looks like I am still eating to much even when I come in at 1650 calories. I don't know what's what and will recalculate my numbers using the guides here. Next week AF is scheduled so there is no need to weigh in and I have a family reunion so I know I'll eat a bit more than normal. so many challenges! |

I knew it was too good to be true. I normally credit myself about 100 calories for my office job stuff. That's after 8 hours of work. Shooster - As for rich food eat the least rich of the rich foods. That's about all I can suggest. |

i have a question for those who use the burn meter. I logged in desk job - typing - writing and it gave me a total of 816 calories burned for 6 hours. How does one calculate that into the daily caloric intake. That would mean I need to add about 1416 calories to my BMR for a total of about 3000 calories. I know that cannot be correct. Please advise. |

Ladies, thank you all so much for responding. I am just so frustrated because it seems that I've become one of those people who talk a good game but still cannot lose this weight. I am 5'1, medium frame and 167.6 (according to the scale today) pounds. My short term goal is 150 pounds and longterm is 136 pounds. I've been as heavy as 177 but started this challenge around 170. This means I have only loss about 3 pounds at this point which is really a bit discouraging. Now don't get me wrong, before this site and the challenge, I was not losing a pound and I think I may have been putting my body in starvation mode. But as of now I eat between 1600-2000 calories daily. Although I do not use the features on this site, I have been keeping a food diary for well over a year now and tracking my weekly weight for about 2 years. I know that I am up 8 pounds since last year this time and that I had been eating between 2300-2600 calories per day in the past with continuous exercise. I ceased doing this in April of this year and cut back to 1800-2000 but I was increasing my exercise so much that I fell below the 1531 calories needed daily for my BMR. I was not losing one pound. I think I also made a mistake in thinking that cutting back to 1800-2000 would give me a deficit of atleast 600 calories since I had been eating 2600 and had cut those calories extra. Now I realize that cutting those calories on stopped my weight GAIN but did not help me to lose weight. It only but me at maintenance. As I said my BMR is 1531 from a calculation I did, so I feel I need to eat atleast that daily to stay out of starvation mode (correct me if I am wrong). I have a desk job and calculated that with work, and my deliberate exercise I burn around 500 calories a day. I wear a pedometer all day and most days I get 10k steps or 500 calories burned) So total calories is about 2031. Over the past week or so I've been eating at 2000 for a few days but overall most days I stay around 1600-1700 calories. I realize that that is why I am losing so slowly. I had somehow fooled myself into thinking that I was actually at a deficit of about 1100 (500 burned + 600 I stopped eating), but now I see I have been around 1600 - 1700 (deficit of 400-300 calories) which equals about 1 pound every 2 weeks. So now I can see my error. I have been so afraid that I might go into starvation mode if I just eat the 1531 calories but I think I've been more in denial and splurging here and there and thinking I'd see weight loss. Cheating is also an issue and I do weigh on Monday and then on Friday and notice that a big meal does affect my weigh in. Maybe this week I can drop the pound and stay motivated. The weight is really beginning to affect my self-esteem and the image I have of myself. I am beginning to be embarassed to meet my husband friends and family because I am overweight and I don't want people to have that image of me. |

Talk about disgusted with this weight loss. What am I doing exercising and cutting calories if I can't lose this weight. Monday I was 166.6 and so excited, today I am up almost a pound. Arggh!!! I am doing the math, calories burned, minus 500 deficit and its above my BMR so I am not in starvation mode. I don't know, but I feel like eating out of control when this type of crap happens. |
