| Weight Loss | Costs more to be healthy | Oct 31 2008 00:15 (UTC) |

It definitely does cost more to eat healthy foods, but I have learned which healthy basic foods are cheapest. Also compromising on what you buy organic makes a big difference. Obviously organic foods are better for people and the environment, but I'm a college student and I just cannot afford it. But for example, I buy a HUGE 2lb canister of store-brand oatmeal for $3...I eat it everyday for breakfast and it lasts me a month. Also buying a lot of frozen vegetables/fruits as opposed to always fresh saves a TON of money, and you won't throw anything out because it goes bad. Buy what's in season, and things like bananas are good for you, filling, and SUPER cheap. Also, TRADER JOES!!!!! |

I don't think it's just a fashion week thing for Anne Slowey. She is a maniac. Seriously. I was surprised by how much the female model ate, actually. That seems to be how much food a model eats normally, and on fashion week you wouldn't want to be bloated and whatnot. But if Anne has time to down 4384938 vitamins, I think she can eat a protein bar for breakfast. And while there's pressure for her to be thin as she's in the industry, she won't lose her job if she's 10 lbs heavier like a model would. |

Seriously, save your money. It's a scam in that you're paying a ton of money for them to give you horrible, bad-for-you food so that you do exactly what you can do on your own with healthy food for less $: eat fewer calories. It's crazy to me to pay them money for that. Just count calories and eat whole foods! Then your health improves, you get to eat REAL, GOOD food, and most of all KEEP the weight OFF! |

I've had a tofurky roast...and I thought it was seriously vile. I love tofu and like some meat subs like veggie burgers and chikn nuggets, so I thought I'd like tofurky...ew, it was just disgusting. I've heard good things about the quorn ones, though. |

| Health & Support | UTI? | Aug 21 2008 06:05 (UTC) |

Hey, I have loads of experience with UTI's. It sounds like you might have one. If going to the doctor is not conveinent, you may want to pick up an at-home test (get one that tests for two different things present in your pee...I can't remember the names). It's not going to kill you to wait one or two days for it to clear up as it is possible it's not a UTI. For me, the tell-tale sign was always that I felt like I had to pee and I didn't actually have to. I don't usually have too much burning/pain while going, but I know that's common. Also, (TMI!!!!) my pee is a discolored, like darker, more concentrated...and cloudy. Also there can be some blood present (a tiny amout). If you go to the doctor, they give you bactrim or an equal antibiotic, and you'll feel better within a day or two and take them for 7-10 days or so. Definitely go if you aren't back to normal in a few days because they will NOT go away on their own and they'll lead to kidney infections. In the mean time, drink plenty of water. Feel better! |

| Weight Loss | Why are diet fizzy drinks bad for you? | Jul 10 2008 22:14 (UTC) |

| Sugar substitutes are thought to have a weight gain effect in the longer term, but that's debatable. Mostly, I would stay away from all sodas and diet sodas because the sugar or sugar subsitute is never going to be good for you, and eliminating them along with processed sugary foods trains your body to no longer crave them eventually. | |||

I don't think it's IBS, because I very rarely have the gas problem accompany the bloating... I am however going to try the fennel tea and also pay more attention to see if it happens more often with dairy...thanks a lot for the link! |

| I've also experienced this...one thing is to drink a lot of water. Another thing is B12. I'm a vegetarian so I have to take the supplements anyway, but just take notice of your intake even if you're not a vegetarian...it makes a big difference. | |||
