| Young Calorie Counters | Question for Teen Guys | Feb 14 2009 02:57 (UTC) |

That's pretty much all they care about. Honestly, I've met plenty of guys. I used to be super chubby and I barely ever got attention from guys. Come next year, 30 pounds lighter, and I'm getting asked out by different guys all the time. Obviously, it's not personality. They may SAY they go for personality, but everything is much more appealing in a nice packaging. |

| Young Calorie Counters | 1200 calories a day? | Feb 14 2009 02:51 (UTC) |

I try to eat 1200 calories a day. More often than not, I end up eating around 1400, but with exercise totaled in, it comes out to about 1200. When I first began dieting, I cut back from eating like, maybe 1800 calories a day, down to 1200, and I lost 30 pounds in 2 months. I then plateaued for the better half of a year. So, I suggest eating more than that, at least 1500 calories. |

i've been a swimmer my whole life and i'd have to say, swimming leaves you super hungry and i never got thin from doing swim. i think afterwards we tend to overcompensate for what we burn. sometimes my team and i would have watermelon or like melons and stuff b/c they're low calorie and filling and then eat more later. |

| Young Calorie Counters | Just wondering.. 1,200 calorie diet? | Aug 06 2008 22:25 (UTC) |

| hey, i'm alex. i started off at 170 pounds in november, and went down to 145 by february. i'm 5'4 and seventeen. so that was just by doing a 1200 calorie diet, no exercise. i think i have a fast metabolism or something. anyway, i stopped doing it but still lost about three pounds. now i just barely started back on it about a week ago and lost two pounds. it's a great diet if you aren't too active, otherwise you will GAIN weight because you aren't eating enough. people often think it's difficult to acclimate your body to only 1200 calories but honestly, it's not, and you get used to it. (: goodluckk! | |||

| THANKS so much! i will definitely implement working out into my day. i work in an environment where i'm standing a lot and i think working out would probably be beneficial. are there any specific exercises you recommend? ie. crunches, sit ups, etc? | |||
Is jump roping as good an exercise as running?
In terms of calorie burning, moderate jumping is about equal to running a 10-minute mile, although calorie burning is always a function of time... Read more
