| Health & Support | can i eat grapefruit while taking zoloft? | Aug 01 2008 18:23 (UTC) |

I am on Zoloft too and when I saw your question it made me wonder cause I love grapefruit so I called my Pharmacy to make sure and they said not to take it within a 6 hour window of your dose because it could reduce the drugs effectivness. It also dramatically effects cholestral lowering drugs and should not be taken with those drugs and certain heart meds. Hope this helps !! |

My husband actually gave me a visual though at the time I had not started to diet and it not only made me mad and hurt my feelings but later when I thought about it, emotions aside, I realized that now I had a really great concept of what it would feel like to lose weight. He said that at my present weight I am carrying around 2-20 pounds of dogfood all the time. They are sleeping on my chest at night, they are with me every single step I take and he wondered if I would like to put them down and quit carrying them all the time. When I actually thought about that, which happened the next time I went to the grocery store and bought dogfood, I tried an experiment. I carried that 20-lb bag of dogfood all through the store and then hiked with it out to the car. I was exhausted when I got there and could put it down...and suddenly the light over my head finally went on !!! DUHHHHH...if that made me tired and out of breath and felt that good to set it aside how GREAT would I feel to finally put down the equivalant of 2 big bags. So when I am excerising and struggling to complete my workout, or trying to find the motivation to get healthy I think of DOGFOOD :) |

Hi fellow 40+'s. I would love to join your quest. I am a 42 yr. old stay at home mom with a 3yr. old daughter. I joined 3 weeks ago at 182 lbs and need to drop 35-40. this is so hard going it alone. I want to be able to activly participate in playing with my daughter and just can't do it at this weight. Clothes shopping has literally reduced me to tears and I hate the sight of myself in a mirror. All my fat seems to gather in my belly and face and I am uncomfortable all the time. I do usually weigh on Fridays so that's fine with me too. Trying to loss weight at this age is harder than I expected. I have cut my calories based on the CC down to 1300 and was probably having well over 2500+ a day. I binge late at night and seem to graze all day. I have been doing better lately with the CC but I think having a group of like minded buddies would really help. So, room for one more overweight, over 40 but motivated Lady? |

| Health & Support | should i weight my self every day | Jul 27 2008 03:32 (UTC) |

I weigh myself once a week and my Dr. actually said that you weigh different amounts during the day. So if you want to weigh once or twice a week be sure to weigh at the same time each time. I find that if I do weigh once each week it helps to give me a motivational boost too. If I've lost weight it gives me a great feeling of accomplishment. And if I haven't lost or weigh up alittle it gives me the motivational boost to really watch my diet or work harder on my exercises. Another big thing that helps instead of just weighing is to take your measurements like your arm, your chest, your hips, your thigh etc. and once a month take them again. sometimes you see more results in inches when you exercise than you do in pounds. PS. I moved my scale to the closet and only set it out on Friday which is my weigh day. |

I had a hard time dropping diet soda's too but when I did, it showed on the scales. I now have decaffinated unsweetened ice tea and use a small amount of Splenda, I also sometimes treat myself to lemonaid from water, lemon and Splenda but by far your best friend is WATER, WATER, WATER !!! |
