| Weight Loss | How frequently do you measure your waist? | Jul 22 2009 21:04 (UTC) |

I wouldn't do it more than once a month, especially if you want to see progress. I found that I need to loose 3-5 pounds to actually see the tape measure move.... and that is a good 3-5 pounds not just water weight variations on the scale! |

Thank you for the suggestions. It is hard to eat more when I feel like I'm not loosing. Curious, do you think it would be a good idea for me to try upping my calories for say 3 weeks and stay off the scale? :) |

Good Morning Ladies- with a lot of hard work this week the scale budged 1/2 pound, down to 161.5. Sometimes I wish my scale read out in hundreths, these 0.5 pound increments are tough on me. Another rainy day here in MN. Take care |

Finally the end of August, which seemed to be he most "social" month of the year for me! I started off the beginning of the month at 163.5 and ended at 163 (some ups and downs in there too). Not so bad for 2 birthday parties (my 30th= 2 parties, hehe), a huge camping trip, and a trip to Idaho for my brothers wedding (which i had to fit into my bridemaids dress). Hopefully now that the stress and anxiety of all the parties and that dress are gone I can focus again. I didn't meet my goal of 159 for the end of the month :( but I am still happy that overall I lost weight. Does anyone else really like the trend line in the weight log? I think it is a more accurate representation of weight loss rather than on a day to day or week to week specific number!! Take care and try to keep up the workouts :) |

| Foods | I'm trying tofu for the first time | Jul 24 2008 19:36 (UTC) |

I absolutely love to use tofu in curry. The steps sound kind of complicated, but it's not that hard and the process should only take 30-40 minutes. 1) I use firm tofu, to get the excess water out I wrap the tofu block in a clean dish towel and put something moderately heavy on it and press it for 15 mins. 2) Cut tofu into cubes and marinate in soy sauce for 30 mins. Can do this process days before and keep in fridge. 3) Preheat oven to 350, use olive oil to grease cookie sheet, and bake tofu for ~30 mins, flipping once. I like my tofu baked until it is firm and golden. Otherwise has a tendancy to fall apart in stir fry. 4) While the tofu is baking, I saute any type of veggies until tender. Then stir in a can of coconut milk and a can of prepared curry paste. Let heat through and then at the end throw in the tofu. Serve over rice. Enjoy! You could easily use any sauce you desire. |
