hi panswerbj0rne - we have exactly the same stats and goals! freakyyy! haha okay, we'll we will have to see how long this lasts, but the last few days I have upped my calories from 1200 to 1400 and cooled off a bit with my exercise (i'll still walk every day for between 30-60 minutes, but that's less intense cardio than what i was doing before) and it has really helped me lose weight! CC always said i should consume 1200 to lose, which i believed since i'm so short (a little less than 5'1"), but since we are so young, i don't think we realize how many calories we burn every day just doing our normal activities. my deficit between cals burned and cals consumed is probably between 250-500 now, where as before when i was only eating 1200 and working out more intensely it was upwards of an 800 cals burn deficit, which is way too much. i never believed it before, but really sometimes your body will go into starvation mode, so just by upping your calories a little bit you can re-jump start your metabolism. good luck!

hi girls! who's down for some weekly weigh-ins? i'm down 1 pound this week, from 120 to 119. not a lot, but better than nothing! i figure the weigh-ins are good for me b/c it gives me a goal, and makes me more accountable. feel free to add in your progress! |

jbean13 -- that sounds great! that's exactly what i did last summer and was able to get down to 110 from 135 just a few months earlier. i went back up to 123 over the course of the year and have been trying to get it off since coming home from school (i'm down to 119 now). i also had an office job over the summer (same one this summer) but this year i just haven't had the same motivation to go to the gym/be as careful about what i eat. what do you usually eat/what do you do to work out? any information would be super helpful! |

hi i would like to be a part of this group too! i'm 5'1" and around 120 lbs...would like to get down to 110 by the end of the summer! I also have a small frame. I got down to 110 last summer and it was perfect! I think the biggest reason for my weight-loss last year was working out...so I just need some motivation to keep that up this year! |

this group sounds perfect! i'm 5'1" (on a tall day) and am currently 119 lbs. I worked out a ton last summer and was very dedicated to using this website and I got down to 110 lbs. This past year was my senior year of college, so I kind of just had a "screw it" attitude and just wanted to have fun haha so I gained back a little over 10 lbs over the course of the year, so I'm just looking to lose that over the summer! I try to eat around 1200 cals a day, but I rarely am that low, and especially if I work out I allow myself more cals. During the day I work at an office, so it's difficult to be active and many times I come home I'm so tired so I don't want to go to the gym/go for a run. Anyway, what are some low-cal/healthy things you guys eat? I'm trying to work on my cooking skills so any advice would be welcome! |

Hi! I have also decided to beome a vegetarian and have been doing well for the past two weeks. Right now I'm still eating fish, but I'm a poor college student so I can't really afford fish that much anyway! I'm working in an office this summer -- does anyone have good ideas for lunch? I used to always bring turkey sandwiches but that won't work...lately I'll be bringing Thomas' pitas and filling them with hummus, lettuce, tomato, and chopped up portobello mushrooms. Any ideas for a filling/easy to assemble lunches? |

hey shorties, how's the weight loss going? :-) question for all of you: how many calories do you try to have in a day? i'm 21 years old and 5', ALMOST 5'1" on a "tall" day and I set my calculator on sedentary, because right now I'm working at an office all day (only 2 more days though!), and then I just add in my physical activity, like the 30 min walk i take during lunch, and my workouts after work (i usually go for a run/walk around my neighborhood for 45 minutes, but sometimes i'll take an aerobics or spinning class for an hour). CC tells me i should be having 1200 calories a day, but i'll usually have a little more if i work out that day. is it really important to get up to exactly 1200 in order for my body to not go into "starvation" mode? i'm really not looking to have less at 1200, i'm not about starving myself by any means, it just seems like sometimes i'm eating at night just for the sake of getting to the magic 1200 number, which obviously seems kind of counter-productive to be eating more to lose weight? any thoughts would be appreciated :-) |

hi yay! I'm so excited for this group! Monday weigh-ins scare me a little bit but I guess that is good because they'll keep me more on track over the weekend! I'm 5'0 and 115 and I want to get down to 105. I've been plateaued at 115 for about a week and I really want that extra push to start losing again, but then again I've also had my period, so does that affects weight-loss? Since the beginning of my diet I've lost 20 pounds and I just need to finish that extra 10! I'd say I have around 1200 cals a day, and during the day I'm pretty sedentary (I intern in an office) but I try to go to the gym once I get out of work and will run/walk on the treadmill for about half an hour. Anyone have any advice? Should I try to up my cal intake? Thanks! |

weigh in! CW: 115.4 GW: 105 I've lost about 2 pounds from this time last week, but I think I usually weigh a little bit more on Mondays because I eat more on weekends. Hopefully by tomorrow or Wednesday I'll hit 114 (or crossing my fingers for 113) on the scale in the morning...wish me luck! haha |

hi! i'm new to this forum (or any weight loss forum for that matter) so here are my stats: age: 21 CW: 117-118 GW: 105 I've been steadily losing weight for the past month and a half, but every time I seem to hit a new low on the scale I just gain a little bit back on the weekends when I seem to eat more. Any advice about cutting down on the weekend eating? |
