Just wanted to let you know that hubby got home safely (he's at work now, should be home in abt 1 h 30 min). We didn't get much sleep last night so i'm tired now.

Cooking a turkey soup for lunch (batch cook this time) so that i won't need to worry much abt cooking over the weekend. I'll probably have to put some OT in b/c I don't think i'll work 8 hrs today...

i'm still home alone. hubby's at a funeral in his home town. i talked to him and he said he'd come back tomorrow (so he'll be home tomorrow night). miss him like crazy.

I had a bit of walking to do yesterday...in the rain. UGH. I had little over 1300 cal yesterday, which is good. Today I also have to go out a bit to do some shopping. And tomorrow hubby will be on the way home.

I'm tired and cranky and miss him but he'll be home soon.

I didn't work out properly yesterday and hardly likely to do so today.

thanks for the kind words.

here i am again home alone for cpl of days. MIL told us yesterday that hubby's grandfather died and hubby rushed over (he's in the train as I type this). I stayed home to take care of everything and work, of course. He should be back by Fri (latest on Sat)

You can imagine i'm not 100% ok but i'm coping well (sort of). he's been calling every two hours or so and i think i'm going to call him in a few b4 i start writing (i worked on an editing thing until now).

I averaged 1079 cal/day last week so I didn't eat enough. My appetite is quite low but not very low. And I'm back doing cal cycling. I burned a total of 206 cal via formal exercise ....last week. and I created a deficit of 2200 cal.

there are exactly 5 free blood tests per year and none involve body fat testing or other similar things. which is crap, especially in a country where obesity is a problem starting wt the young kids *sigh*

at my HW i was 1 lb into obese so probably i wasn't "extreme" enough to worry anyone. luckily, my BP was always good so, again, no one was worried that was i actually fat.

my doctor refuses to refer me to any tests related to body fat or BMR. I asked her to refer me to a professional to get a body fat test (i don't like the bio impedance thing) and she said i'm too slim to be considered (my BMI is little over 23).

it's time for my annual check up and i'll probably be brave enough to request a longer list of blood tests (as in vitamins). i get tired easily and my appetite is quite low lately.

And the BMR tests are done in specialized sports clinics and we don't have any in our town anyway. So that's definitely not possible or affordable.

I did want to get a HRM at some point but the only ones I saw were over $300. that's NOT in my price range LOL

I finally managed to get abt 1277 cal in yesterday but not all were the healthy kind (think pretzels and M&Ms ...yikes!). My "revived" batteries are DEAD. The scale didn't even turn on this morning. Oh well.

And I'm having such a hard time staying motivated to write...ugh

Ref the burn meter: it contains your BMR + activities; all these numbers are estimates though and in many cases the calculations won't get you anywhere. Some ppl burn way less than the BMR assumes while for others it's just the opposite.

I lost on 1000-1200 cal wt/out exercise and 1300-1400 cal wt burning 1000 cal a week. I am small to begin with (5'2", 127-128 lbs I guess) and I don't exactly burn a ton of cals when i work out. The smaller you are, the harder to burn many cals...of course.

So I ended up at little over 500 cal yesterday. YIKES! I had a bowl of Greek Beans Soup for late lunch , some gin tonic and tomato juice when we went out ...and LOADS of loving. I had the butterflies in my stomach all day long...HeHe

 

I did weigh on my "low battery" showing scale but if the darn batteries will hold until Mon I'll report the weight, otherwise wait cpl of days to get fresh ones. (I keep putting these on the heater LOL they work but shows "low" all the time so i don't trust it, that's why i don't report it).

 

And yeah, i need to start eating for a change!

i don't think anyone should rush into getting married; after all, it's just a wedding band and a paper; the feelings are important, regardless of what your marital status says.

 

well, i had the butterflies-in-stomach all day yesterday and it was a nice day...we did have some "deep" talks at some point and it ended up in talking abt fantasies...oh boy LOL i had gin tonic (2 fl oz gin + 8 fl oz tonic water) last night but didn't eat much so i got tipsy sooooooo easily LOL

 

Good part? scale is at 127.7 lbs today LOL

I was at 1354 cal yesterday; stayed way too late watching movies though. Oh well, I need to work today anyway :)

It's our 3rd wedding anniv today but we are not planning anything special. It rains and our finances are quite low as it is anyway. But we'll figure something out.

I managed to get a 40 min brisk walk in yesterday but didn't eat enough. As you know, Lynn, I tend to work through my hunger signals and by the time i'm done wt the articles i don't feel like eating...ugh

It's 11:35 am and haven't had breakfast yet but i'm planning to go and boil 2 eggs and eat something b/c i hear my stomach growl.

Until I've got batteries, I'm going by measurements.

My stats as of Oct 31:

- waist (narrowest): 28 in

- hips: 33.5 in

- thigh (right): 21.4 in

I really don't want to lose more from the hips, but could use to lose more from the thighs and the waist, ya know. I typically measure once a month.

No scale here still but I stayed at 1305 cal today. Took a walk wt DH but haven't tracked anything. It was too cold outside and we cut it short...

Lynn, don't aim to lose more than 2 lbs/week; you'll gain it back ASAP and it's not sustainable. Aim for 1-2 lbs, at most.

Well, we suck and if you play on the cork board you need darts wt metal heads; but to play on the electronic one you need darts wt plastic heads...so i'm saving the walls if we hit it wt the plastic heads LOL I really don't need tiny holes in the wall LOL LOL LOL

I want to get a darts set for our apartment (the electronic kind, cause if i get the regular kind i risk damaging our walls when we play LOL) ; it's not very expensive and i'm sure my husband will be thrilled :)

Well my scale doesn't even show "LOW" now ; it's DEAD LOL. Hubby was like : "we need to get batteries"...hmmm...he does like to weigh in DAILY... guess he got that from me...oooppsss

So I'm counting cals since i don't have a scale anymore...yesterday was bit high (1656) but i think i have over-estimated a dish I made at home so i might have been lower.

oh, tryn.. i'm sorry it's H1N1, glad you are ok.

there are just 2 cities in our country wt H1N1 cases: Bucharest and Iasi. Both are 500+ away from where we live. So no immediate danger...yet.

i wasn't online much as you could see, that's why i haven't inquired abt you or yella, for that matter.

yella, we go to play darts and pool abt twice a week. it's sort of a "date night" for us as well, although i'm trying to change that and do something nicer.

we went to the pub yesterday as well and caved in and had gin tonic ...bad idea! now my freaking head is aching. I had 2 oz of gin wt 8 oz of tonic water...i think it was too much for me lol

bleah i'm so sleepy; we had a long night and got abt 5 hrs of sleep... plus it's gloomy outside and my head is aching. Managed to get my work done but the bed looks so good right now. Hubby's at work (until 3 pm but might be late anyway) and i'm looking at a short nap LOL [although considering my luck, probably i won't manage to sleep]

We had a nice weekend although we didn't go out. Spent some quality time together. Our 7 yrs anniv is today (since hubby moved in wt me) but we don't have anything special planned (ok, i do, but that's part of the plan LOL). Hubby' s still sleeping - almost noon - and i'm working. He hasn't said a word last night although he knows it's the 26th today... he's got an e-card waiting for him...HeHe

my weight doesn't bounce that drastically under normal circumstances. but remember my fasting wt/out planning to in late Sept / early Oct? i lost  a lot of weight very fast and i expected it to be back ... thankfully not all of it came back and i'm still at a good weight.

i don't eat that often anymore b/c it's hard to take my butt off the chair when i am in the middle of writing something. but i try to get a bunch of small snacks in between writing so that i  hit the cal target.
