I definately plan on getting a mini-tuck when I can afford it. It can't be much worse than my two c-sections. |

Unfortunately, the more fat I have lost, the looser the skin on my abdomen got. No amount of diet and excercise will get rid of excess skin from strech marks. My little girls are more than worth it though! |

Thighs are supposed to be thicker on top than down by the knee. You have more muscle at the top. You sound totally normal to me. |

Hello fellow Indianan! (I think I just made up a word.) The weather is quite disgusting right now. I enjoy walking on my treadmill at 12% incline while I read a good book. The book keeps me entertained and before I know it, my 45 minutes is up. Good luck! |

Happy day before your birthday! Like the previous poster said, enjoy your day. Just go back to healthy eating afterwards. Also, you won't lose any weight and will probably start gaining if you go under 1200 calories a day. Good luck! |

160 and size 4? Maybe if you're 6 feet tall? Don't be discouraged by other people. It's about your body and the weight you look and feel best at. |

You should post this to the "Ask Mary" part of the site. I am interested in what she will say. I can see not giving your child sweets/refined sugars, but you can make your own bread very healthily. Everyone, but especially growing children need a lot of complex carbohydrates like bread and pasta. |

At 5'2" with a small frame, I need 2000 calories a day to maintain 110 pounds. I lose on 1500. For me, 110 lbs. is about a size 1/2, not a zero. I am moderately active though. |

| Weight Loss | Obesity & Starvation question | Jan 29 2009 12:40 (UTC) |

I remember reading about an obese woman who was starving herself and couldn't figure out why she was gaining weight instead of losing. Her personal trainer was trying to convince her that she had to increase her calories, but he was worried that she would not believe him. Starving yourself to lose weight just doesn't work unless your goal is to have your body eat your muscle and hoard fat from every piece of celery you eat. A starving body will store anything as fat. |

If you're right handed, your right side is stronger, no? This is true for me, my husband, my best friend, my sister, etc. As far as I know, it's perfectly normal. If not, everyone I know is weird! |

I've read about those kinds of scales and the reviews said the scales were really unreliable because it will tell you a different body fat percentage if you tell it you're sedentary, lighty active, athletic etc. There are just to many variables. I wouldn't waste my money on one. If you have your receipt, maybe the store will take it back. |

| Weight Loss | Is this even possible? | Sep 14 2008 19:05 (UTC) |

I don't think a computer can tell you your body fat percentage. Someone else posted that anorexic people can have very high body fat percentages (like 50%), because they have almost no muscle from their bodies eating it to survive the starvation. Bodies don't care how they look, they just want to survive. Start eating more and healthier and try to build some muscle. You will look and feel much better. Good luck and God bless! |

I know people who have their own chickens in their backyard for eggs. They aren't mistreated in any way and you don't have to kill them after they stop laying. Maybe you can find someone who has their own chickens and buy eggs from them. Though I agree with gi-jane that not everything PETA says is true, and I'm not a vegetarian, I respect anyone who chooses to become vegetarian, vegan, etc. Just do it for health, not guilt. Good luck! |

I know you said granola bars don't work for you, but have you tried the Fiber One bars or generic? The Oat and Chocolate are really good and keep me full for a good two hours or so. Other "granola" type bars have never worked for me either. If you ate one with a piece of fruit, nuts, granola, etc., I think it would do a good job of controlling your hunger. The Wal-mart brand are just as good, the nutrition values are the same and they're quite a bit cheeper. |

At 5'2" and 109.5 pounds, you don't need to lose any weight. If you don't like the way you look, start building some muscle. Great job on coming this far with your recovery!

| Fitness | Cellulite. Has anyone had success with it? | Jul 25 2008 21:11 (UTC) |
7 |
Cellulite is twisted fat cells. When the connective tissue above the fat isn't very strong, the fat comes through and makes the ripples. That's what I've read anway. I'm 24, 5'2" and 110-112 lbs. I've had cellulite since puberty. I've always been very thin and even now with about 16% body fat I still have it. I'm pretty sure the only way to really get rid of it is the special liposuction someone else mentioned. Building muscle and toning does help. Also, as you loose weight your fat cells will shrink. We've all just got to try our best and then be happy with what we achieve. There is so much more to beauty than smooth thighs. Good luck! |

| Weight Loss | can you be at a healthy weight and morbidly obese at the same time? | Jul 25 2008 17:21 (UTC) |

I can't be sure, but it looks like you have a large bra size. Breasts are almost all fat. I'd gladly have a higher amount of body fat to have larger breasts, but when I gain it all goes to my hips/thighs/butt. You look great! |
