I'm in.

I'm 5'6

current weight 122---size jr. 3

goal weight  115------size jr 00

meaning under 800 cals a day.

Move more, eat less for faster results.

I really hope you don't mean eating under 800 calories per day...  Because just writing that is a cc violation but actually doing that is really unhealthy and also totally counter-productive to any weight loss goal.  I agree with "move more eat less" but  at 800 calories per day you aren't even eating enough to live and you will slow your basal metabolic rate.

Your current BMI JUST BARELY meets the lowest cutoff for healthy weight - I know this because 122 is below my lowest cutoff weight and we are the same height.  At 115 you would be definitely underweight.  Yes you might be skinny but what does that matter when your hair starts falling out and you lose your periods.

I eat at least 1400 calories per day and I have steadily lost about 1 pound per week.

Starting weight: 133

Current weight: 126

Hi everyone,

I am a little late this week to post but I am down a pound to 127! And this is, a shall we say, "heavier" point in the month so I am thrilled with that number.

Have a great day!

Hi All,

It is so great to be doing this with everyone!

I don't know about you guys but I find that I am so good with diet and exercise during the week but I sorta fall off the wagon on the weekends.  My partner and I work really long hours during the week so when we get to the weekends we just want to hang out together and go for supper, have wine, etc.

Does anyone else have this experience? Or, for those of you that don't, how do you maintain your momentum 7 days per week?

I'll join too!  I started off well on my own here but now I think I need both the actual calorie counting AND some other people along with me to stay accountable. :)

I am in a wedding on Thanksgiving weekend so it is very important to me that I am looking and feeling my best at that time.

Thursdays it is :)

puberty...totally...  It was terrible because my frustratingly thin siblings actually got skinnier with puberty and I just got heavier (and acne-prone).

Motivation any grad students/ABDs out there? Aug 01 2008

I am just finishing my MSc and I found that I was the same..."I will go to the gym after I...". I am working full time and doing grad school full time so I always found an excuse to not go to the gym...and also took "breaks" in front of my fridge while writing the thesis. One thing that did work was to bring journal articles I had to read anyway to the gym and I could bike and read at the same time - then I don't feel like I am "wasting" time at the gym.

It's hard though - it gets so stressful at times that I find school to be a big trigger for emotional eating.

I also found a couple of girls in one of my classes who are wanting to lose weight as well and now I walk regularly with them; it is a also a great way to vent frustrations and get input about grad school challenges.

Good luck to all of you!! We can do it!

I can promise you will not become obese eating 2000 calories per day.  I was EXACTLY in your shoes 3 years ago. I had pretty much stopped eating and dropped so much weight - to the point that I needed medical assistance. When I started to eat again, I gained at a remarkable rate (like you feel you are now) until I got to a reasonable set point for my height.  Then, eating between 1700-2200 calories per day did not cause further weight gain.

Your body will put on the weight it needs to survive and thrive - it will not become obese with a healthy nutritious diet that totals 2000 calories per day.  I promise.

(I am on this forum to try to manage my daily intake healthfully - which hopefully you are doing as well - anorexia is a difficult obstacle, but you can overcome it!)
