Young Calorie Counters Having problems with track/cross-country practice =/ Advice pleasee? Oct 14 2008

Hey guys! Thanks for the advice. Practice today went much better, as the coach asked for my name and asked me to go to the meets. (It was a different cross country coach, but still :P) I will definitely keep at it. :)

"It's a battle that consumes you every day of your life."

What a good way to put it ^^

I wish I could get out of this mindset. I'm not anorexic by any means, but I have this mindset that if I lost a few more pounds I will look better. I tell myself day in and day out to stop counting calories, but it seems like I can't. I'll be counting calories without even actually thinking about counting them. Then a little bell goes off in my head and it says "You're counting again! I thought we agreed we would stop!" It's so hard. Why can't I just accept myself? I wish I knew how.

Hahahaha yeahh thats happening to me too! From people who havent seen me in 3 months or more, I'm getting the same reactions!

And I am definitely not looking forward to my grandparents' reactions when they return home from Greece. I can just see my grandma now:

"Katya, you need to eat! You lost weight, has your mother been feeding you? -hands me a boat load of food- Come on, eat some more!" *explodes from food intake*

It would be something a long the lines of that, except mostly in greek.

Congrats on the success :) I love when people acknowledge your success; it keeps the motivation going.

Young Calorie Counters If you had a petite frame, would a size 6 suit you? Sep 30 2008
08:48 (UTC)

Wow, it seems like a lot of people are in the same boat. I guess it bothers me a bit that a good portion of people think that a size 0 or size 2 is too skinny, and 'toddlers' clothes as some say. but i still have fat, and look healthy thank you very much!

tyrdrop, I think it does to. A size 6 did not look good on me, I can tell you that, and I'm not being critical of myself. :P And wow, 20 hours a week? that's impressive. I wish i was more like you. I'm just so gosh darn lazy :P

and twiggy, yeah I think american sizes are 2 less then british sizes, so yes, a british 14-16 is a U.S. size 10-12. LOL a 00, I remember I tried that on once, but it was by accident. The tag said 4, but the label inside was a 00. I put them on, and I couldnt get them past my mid-thighs!! Im like What?!?!? I couldn't of put on this much weight?! It was funny, and a bit of a scare. xD

they're actually not all that bad. i had a smart ones entree the other day, 250 calories, and it was cheese ravioli. no trans fat, and 4 grams of fiber. it filled me up. the only thing that was 'bad' in it, was the sodium. but really thats it :)

My eyebrows are one of my favorite features. They look pretty striking on me, dark, and nicely shaped. My eyes are okay, even though they are a bland brown they can actually look good with some eyeliner.

As for non-face related parts, I like my skin. It is pretty clear, except during TTOM I get sudden breakouts :K Oh and my calves. When I am standing straight I cannot pinch anything whatsoever on them :)

Young Calorie Counters Your Worst Injuries. Ever. Jul 29 2008

Hahaha... some of these stories make me laugh...especially that person who sled into the house LOL. I've been lucky and never broken or anything or yet alone went to the hospital.

Hmm I've had 1 minor injury though. I was in the 3rd grade and I was biking home from school. There were a lot of people on their bikes on the sidewalk, and as I was approaching it, I thought I could go onto the sidewalk by going up the the curb. (you know how there's always a flat surface where you can ride up...well that was taken up by other bikers)

Well turns out I couldn't go up the curb, so I ended up flying off my bike and landing face first on the pavement! Ouch! Luckily, I was okay and was wearing my helmet, but I busted my upper lip and it swelled up like a baloon! Literally, my lip was massive!  Nothing major happened though except a lot of bleeding. Somebody called my parents for me and an ambulance but I refused to go in it and get stitches. :P My lip is fine to this day, but if you look closely you can see one part of it not proportional to the other part. :P

Young Calorie Counters i doubt i'm burning this many calories just by being a teen... Jul 29 2008
04:05 (UTC)

I know what you mean! I'm 14 but there is no way I can burn practically 3000 calories (2970) on a very active day (more then one hour a day, which I usually am) I don't even think I can even eat that much :P I would just be stuffing myself.

Sometimes underweight people think they eat a lot, but in reality, they don't.  One of my best friends is underweight (but she's naturally like that) and she's always complaining of how she doesn't gain weight (she tries supposedly) and she eats so much too. So whenever she would come over and have dinner or sleepover, I would notice how much she eats. It was not a lot. She would eat about half of what I ate and say "Oh wow...I am so full, I ate so much." -.-

I believe that's true :P I'm 14 but my mom never gave me that talk. They started sex ed classes in third grade here, but I didn't take it until 4th. (They really didn't talk about sex though) I just found out everything on my own. Now my mom and I are a bit more comfortable talking, but still there is some tension.

Although I am worried about my 11 year old brother, who just the other day something came up in conversation, and he asked "Wait...Girls don't use the bathroom standing up?" He's clueless.
