Foods Anybody on here trying to cut back on bread? Jul 23 2008
02:21 (UTC)

OMGosh i know how you feel, i love bread, white, grainy, seedy. ANd we just got a new bakery up the street from me, ultimate horror! I also eat two slices of bread for brekky, then for lunch. But im gonna cut down my calories with a lower calorie bread by nature harvest, i think thats the name. I guess what you could do is find alternative meals that do not contain or require bread. Maybe even try whole wheat crackers. I enjoy Wheat and sesame by Blue Menu, part of President's choice.

Foods Best thing to eat after working out Jul 23 2008

For after a work-out: I was told to have protein so i have eaten whole wheat crackers (Blue Menu by presidents choice, they are healthier) with all natural organic peanut butter, some fruit like apples or raspberries, and of course water. I don't usually eat right before a work out, and if i do it's usually lunch and then i wait about 45 minutes before i go, to let the food digest. Hope this helps! Enjoy:)

I can't wait to read the responses on this - I have been craving grilled cheese for months but haven't allowed myself to eat it because it just hasn't been worth the calories. This weekend, I had my neice and we went out for lunch. She ordered the grilled cheese and I swear I almost knocked her over and stole her lunch!

HAHAHAHA lol nice. Probably glad you didn't do that though eh?

First to grill the sandwich use canola oil, not vegetable, butter or margarine, thats extra calories and fat. Second use really grainy or whole wheat bread. And lastly use soya cheese, my brother loves cheese and when he tried the soya cheese he barely noticed a difference between the real stuff. Hope this helps! Enjoy:)

Young Calorie Counters Opinions on High School?? Jul 20 2008

Well i went to a catholic elementary school, and so everyone went to the catholic high school, but because i am not catholic, i ended up being the only one from my grade going to the public high school. I had to make all new friends. But to tell you the truth it has been greta im in my last year of HS, and i have 3 great close friends, the teachers are great and my marks are pretty good to. As long as you be who you are you will find friends just like you and have a blast with them, without regrets of acting like someone you are not, and i highly recommend going into to several clubs, really helps with finding friends, keeping yourself busy and getting involved with the school. Good Luck!!

Young Calorie Counters My daughter... Jul 20 2008
23:35 (UTC)

Well first of all you are her mother and you have already influenced her to have your habits so why not do the exact same thing but for healthy eating and workouts. You can go for maybe three days a week and bring your daughter along with you, and stock up your house with healthy foods, fruits, veges, whole grain breads etc. But please don't tell her to go on a diet or tell her you are on a diet, thats way to much, just tell her you want to eat healthier and get fit, gain some muscle. Telling her to go on a diet and that you are to decreases her self image of "im overweight so now i need to go on a diet with strict rules and such." definitely an image you do not want to put into her head. This exercising plan and healthy eating is not only a great way to socialize with your daughter but to give her a better self image. Good luck!!

well mine last for about 5-6 days, on average ur period should last 7 days. ANd it comes in intervals of 28 days to a month. For when i started with my period i used the specialty pads cause the whole idea of putting a cotton tube up my body was kinda weird. But i do recommend using a tampon after a while just because it reduces the leakage you would get from a pad. Umm i guess the most embarassing story would just having a stain on the back of my PJ's after i woke up lol And i find Midol, teen version, works really well with the cramps and bloating:) Good luck!!

Well not only are you young but you are physically active. If your swimming is really important you should take the initiative to eat healthy so that your swimming ability is much better. And hey just cause swimming season is over doesn't mean you stop swimming continue to go three or four times a weeks to keep active and improve your strokes. As well if they are your true friends take them aside and tell them you are trying to lose weight and eat healthier and would appreciate it if you could go somewhere healthier to eat. If they do not comply either discontinue going to lunch/dinner with them or stay at home where you can control what you eat. Just cause your friends eat really unhealthy doesn't mean you do to, it takes a lot of self control to eat smaller and healthier portions, a true test of your determination to lose weight/be healthier. Good luck!!

Fitness Faster or slower? Which is better? Jul 20 2008
23:04 (UTC)

Well i guess it really depends on which speed is more comfortable for you, just make sure you are not going to fast that you are short of breath all the time and that you don't get dizzy. As long as you are burning your goal intended calories, you are fine:)

Health & Support OH MY GOD! am I annorexic? Jul 20 2008

annorexia is when someone deliberately does not eat, clearly you are eating. Maybe you just need to increase your caloric intake, of course depending on what your goal is.

Foods oh boy Jul 19 2008
21:09 (UTC)

if you are still craving something after dinner make sure you have a full meal, veges, meat/fish, and potatoes or rice. Or even do six small meals a day the three main ones, brekky, lunch and dinner, then small snacks of fruit and veges or a gronala bar in between each meal. If you are still hungry go and drink water it has no calories and tends to fill you up. But all fruits and veges have calories, and you should continue to count them.
