First, I want to start with Phat and express that I'm really sorry you lost your job. But as you said, you saw it coming and anyone can see what is happening in this country. I live in Miami and every day someone I know is out of a job. Something will come up just keep looking. As for Lilly, the hospice floor may not seem like the most exciting but as long as you have a positive spirit, your presents can make a difference in the terminally ill and great lessons of compassion for life are to be learned.

We all are struggling to achieve our ideal weight and it does get overwhelming this count calories business but it really makes sense. When I went out to eat over the weekend, I was able to remember the calories in the foods I looked at on the menu and could clearing figure out what I should a should not eat. But tonight when I had that monthly craving at around 9:00 p.m., I knew i was going to inhale 100 calories worth of chocolate and ladies, I LOVED IT!!!!!!!! I just left that window of space open for it. I know that one of you girls mentioned that if I count and leave a room for that piece of chocolate, I could have a piece every night and still be in the game. Well, I can't remember who told me but it seems to work for me. Thanks again.

Don't worry your not the only one Frown It was my husbands birthday yesterday and I ate chocolate cake. I counted my calories and left some room for the cake but was was over by 300 Cry. The worse part is that dam cake is in my frig and I keep walking pasted it and eating a fork full. I just added my daily calories and we are talking about 1600 todayyyyyFoot in mouth. I feel like S--T!!!!!! I have to get rid of it!!!! It's okay, I can't let it get me down. It's done and digested and I need to move on. It's back on the wagon tomorrow.

Let's just keep going ladies...we can do this. Once in a while we can have fun in the candy store Innocent

Caroline, smart thinking!! I will try it and since I eat within my 1200 to 1300 calories daily, I can fit in a small piece of chocolate. I don't think I will work out to day. Last night I was feeling so sick to my stomach that I spent most of the night in the bathroom. Nobody else was sick. Imagine getting sick from your own cooking!!! Never happened before. I have been dragging myself all day and I haven't even consumed 500 calories yet. I'll drink green tea and have some boil veggies.

Hope that everyone is doing well and staying strong. Cool

Congratulations lillysmominpa!!! It hard to say NO but after it's been said you feel glad you did. Otherwise, you would have beat yourself during your walk. I didn't exercise today. I just didn't feel like it. I have been doing that boring treadmill for 5 days straight and in with the heat at 92 deg. it's was just unbearable in my garage. Guess what? I don't feel guilty, I stuck to cc and consumed 1210 calories of good foods. I also stepped on the scale and to my surprise it read 131.5. So I did drop 2 lbs. my first 8 days. Just have keep on going but I sense trouble. I'm feel craving for chocolate coming on and according to my calendar, it's that time on the month!!! I hope I can resist a bag of M&M at the check out line in my locate grocer.

Good morning Phat83,

Sure, forward your plan and I'll look it over. I will tell you this, that I do not believe in

completely eliminating carbs. One does not need to sit down and gobble down a plate on pasta loaded with meat sauce after running for an hour. I eat pretty clean, however I am really concentrating on portion control, learning about the calories of the foods I eat and exercising. That is the key, EXERCISE!!!!! I have a treadmill in my garage and I have started a program that includes running, speed walking and resistance incline walking. I wish I could spin again but with work and a three year old, I 'll stick to the treadmill for now. This morning I stepped on the scale for the first time since the 19th of July and it read 131.5 lbs. but I'm sure if get back on it this evening it will be read 134 lbs.. So I'm sticking with the start weight I wrote last night.

I need to get back to work now. Chat with you all later Smile

This sounds like a perfect group for me if you can squeeze me in. I heard about this site from an article on CNN. I looked it up and realized I have never counted my calories. Even when I was at my best and working out like a crazy person. My goal is to drop 10 to 12 pounds. Does not seem like much but I'm killing myself just to get rid of the secretarial spread I have developed within the passed year. I started counting on July 19th and would really appreciate the exchange of information and motivation Smile  My weight on the July 19th was 134.5 and to be truthful I was not happy when I looked down because I have been do a lot of cardio for the passed month before I stubbled across this site. So I haven't weighed myself since. I will weigh myself in the morning and post it. So I will say that my:

Start Weight: 134  

4 Week Goal:  5 lbs.

Let me know when we start...I CAN'T WAIT!!!!!

Yes! I would love to participate in this group. I just started counting calories on July 19th and have been exercising daily. I started weighing in at 134 pounds. My goal is to size down to 122 pounds. The truth is that I have been working out on the treadmill in my garage for the passed month but my weight has not moved, so I felt it was time to start looking into how much I eat and here I am ready to start.
