Yay!  Hope everyone had a good and healthy weekend!

Pregnancy & Parenting (Too much) Weight gain during pregnancy Jul 23 2008

Just from reading these posts its easy to see that we're all a little different--our bodies are different and I'm sure our types of exercises differ...Pre-prego I was only about 125, and to MAINTAIN, not lose anything, I only took in about 1,200-1,400 calories per day--seriously.  I swear my body is NOT is starvation mode--I tried help from a nutritionist for several months who swore it was and continuously gained weight, even got up to 135...10 pounds at the time was significant, and she eventually realized no matter how many spin classes I took my weight was going up until my caloric intake went down. I think some of this is contributed to the fact that I was on a numerous amount of medications as a teen for severely severe endometriosis (we didn't think pregnant was a possibility, thank goodness for fertility drugs)....where am I going with this? I am still taking in significantly less than the rest of you and STILL gaining more than my portion of healthy weight:  I am at 31 weeks and have gained 20 pounds (doctor's visit will give me the exact amount, Ill keep everyone posted)--its so frustrating to still have to watch everything going in, even pregnant (the one time when I want to eat EVERYTHING and feel like I actually have a reason to eat as many sundaes as I want) but I suppose it will be worth it when the weight comes off (yes, slowly but surely) after Baby Gantt is here.  I'm just glad I'm not the only one--and I'm still going to have a Krispy Kreme donut to celebrate making it through another week...after my weigh in at the doctor tomorrow... ;)

Hope everyone is doing incredibly well!  Keep up the good work (and 'celebrate' with your food of choice every once in awhile).

Yes you are!...I understand, I too am working on 15+pounds over the MOST I have ever weighted!

Congratulations and keep me posted!  I know you can't wait--me either!!  I'm going to need some encouragement to count these calories down once Baby Gantt arrives. :)

Hi everyone! I might as well go ahead and join this forum because in 2 months I'll be working toward the same goal--losing weight after baby #1. He's due in September and I'm already so paranoid about getting that weight off (in a healthy manner ofcourse as I plan to breastfeed)...desperately need as much of my body back as possible as it is a HUGE issue with me and how I feel overall (obviously, I'm on here, counting calories and 8 months pregnant; just trying to keep up with what and how much I'm gaining; I believe I'm at at about 18-20 pounds gained so far). What's working for everyone? Anything special?
