GW: 164

I've been so busy with school and work the past week. I havent started week four yet but I've still made time to walk. I park in the parking lot thats farthest from my class so that I walk atleast 10 min there and 10min back & i circle the building during break. I've gotta get back on track before I loose the progress that I've made. I don't want to have to start over.

I've been so busy the last week with school starting and everything. I've got one more run for week 3. I'm not looking forward to these 5 minute runs I'm reading about. It's hard enough to run 3! Oh well. I'll log in later this week with an update.

Keep up the great work ladies!

I underestimated that first 3 minute interval from week 3. By the time I finished my calves hurt soooo bad. It seemed to go by a lot faster than the previous weeks. I think it's only 18 min instead of 20 like the others. It still felt good though. Congrats everyone!

I done w2r2 yesterday and for the first time since I started, my calve muscles are sore. I used a different tread than I normally do yesterday so maybe that has something to do with it? I was surprised that they were sore b/c I didn't even lift after I finished my set like I normally do. Oh well.

I'm really glad to see everyones progress. We're awesome :)

I done run 1 of week 2 yesterday. I've gotta agree with a lot of the other posts...the last to intervals were pretty tough, but I made it through.

I was surprised that my legs weren't sore either. I expected my calve muscles to be this morning but they weren't. I can definitely tell when I'm walking up the stairs to my 3rd floor apartment. Thats a workout on it's own lol.

Keep it up everyone! We're doing great!

I'm sorry to hear about everything you guys.

It's been a bad day for me too. Today is the 4 year anniversary of my fathers passing. He was 43 and my best friend...my world. I was doing really well earlier in the day, keeping myself busy at work so I didn't think about it. Once everything started to calm down though I couldn't help but think about him. It's unbelievably depressing and all I want to do is eat. Before I started this thats what I would do when I was depressed. I'd eat anything and everything and it made me feel better. Now that I don't have that I'm feeling a little over whelmed. I worked out really hard when I got home and that helped occupy me for a few hours. What helps you when your sad? Help?

I finished my 4th interval at week one. I can definitely tell it's gotten a whole lot easier than it was that first time. It felt great to. I don't know what happened to my podcast. It was working fine sat. when I ran but today I couldn't get it to start at the beginning. Wierd, but I done it anyway.

Keep it up ladies! We're off to a good start :)

Todays the big day! I'll do mine this afternoon after work. I'm excited.

tlc0219: it took me  a few times to get it right to. I'd download it and then when I listened to it something would be wrong (couldn't hear the guys voice, it started in the middle of the session, no music...) finally after downloading and erasing like 4 times I got it. It was only week one that I had problems with. Good luck.

So I said I'd post my starting weight today. Here goes.

SW: 174

GW: 172 (by next weigh in)

Long Term GW: 125-115

Thank you ladies. It's makes me feel better to know that I'm not alone :) I ate good today and worked out a bit. I made my own low fat chicken quasadilla. It was a little experimental but it turned out super good. If you like mexican food you may wanna give it a try.

  • 2 thin cut chicken breast tenderloins (chopped is about 1/2 cup - 200cals)
  • Non Stick cooking spray
  • Seasoning of choice (I used Mrs.Dash Table Blend)
  • 2 whole wheat tortillas (I used Mission Carb control - 80cals each)
  • 1/4 cup Fat Free cheese (I used Kraft Natural Fat Free Chedder - 45cals per 1/4 cup)

Season the tenderloins as desired. Heat a frying pan and spray with nonstick cooking spray. Cook the chicken until it's done then chop both pieces into small chunks.

Spread some chicken pieces evenly on one of the whole wheat tortillas. Sprinkle the 1/4 cup of cheese on top of the chicken and cover with the other tortilla.

Warm up a gridle and spray it with the nonstick spray. Cook your quasadilla until the tortilla is crunchy and the cheese is melted. If you don't have a gridle you can use the same frying pan the chicken was cooked in.

All together it's no more than 450 calories.  You should have some chicken pieces left over for a yummy salad.

Hope everyone enjoys Laughing

So I started early. I couldn't wait, I was so excited. I done my 2nd run for week 1 yesterday and it felt so good. The podcast really helped. I didn't really like the music but having someone there encouraging me to keep going was nice. I'm still taking it two weeks at a time though.

I fell off the wagon :( I ate pizza and cheesy bread this evening. I feel so horrible. I worked out really hard when I got home from work and then I ate that crap. I'm so disappointed in myself. I thought I could control the temptation and before I knew it I had eaten two pieces of pizza and two pieces of cheesy bread! That's like 900 calories! I probaly gained back atleast 3 lbs in one sitting. I feel ashamed of myself for not being able to control it. Junk food is evil lol.

Back to square one for me. Today wasn't a very good day.

So my boyfriend came home a few minutes ago and invited me to go out to eat with his friends and him and I said NO! I'm proud of myself so I had to tell someone. Instead of indulging in some fatty, salty mexican food I'm baking a piece of fish and steaming some broccoli for dinner.

I'm feeling really sluggish this afternoon. I done some yoga this morning and I'll do about 20 min. of ball exercises after dinner but no hard workout today.  I'm so sore from yesterday it's ridiculous.

I just wanted to vent a bit.

Good morning ladies!

I'm 21. I've been a member of CC since July 21st but my diet started on July 14th. My most recent weight was 178. I'll wiegh again Monday. I work full time as an accountant and am currently on summer break from school. I start school again on 8/25 as a full time student (night, weekend & internet classes). I'm working towards my RN license.

I chose to start losing weight so that I'd feel better about myself. The health benefits are great (ofcourse) but I really just want to feel good about myself. I know that learning to run will be a great way to exercise and hopefully shed some pounds.

I'm really looking forward to this challange and to becoming friends with all of you. It's going to be great. Have a wonderful day :)

I wanna join! I've been reading all morning about the best way to start running. I'm 5'4" and currently 176lbs. I'd like to lose 60lbs. I know what you mean about thinking your to busy or too tired. I don't have any children but I work full time and go to school full time (12+hrs) by the time I get home I'm pooped. I'd love to be a part of your group if thats okay.

Does anybody know a way to tag this thread or if there's a way to keep it somewhere so I don't have to go through all the posts to find it each time I want to look at it???  I'm new to CC and I haven't quite figured all this out yet...

There should be a link above the starting post that says "Tag It!" (It'll be under the Motivation header and next to the "Library" link.) Just click that link and follow the prompts. Once you tag it all you'll have to do is go to "Tagged Items" from your account page and look under Forums.

Hope that helped :)

Yell

Ok the whole table thing is just not working on this site, when i enter the table it goes all out of alignment and messed up. So I entered it manually and it still wouldn't work. YellArgh frustrating !!!

I have all the information set up on a table, does anyone have any suggestions on how to enter a table on this site.

The only other way to do it is to email everyone a table. If so message me email addresses and i will forward it to you.

Do you like mushrooms? Grilled mushrooms are awesome! I burnt myself out on steamed broccoli, I've eaten it for dinner for months and months! Now I can't bring myself to do it anymore unless its in something with a sauce like stir fry. I must admit I have been eating canned veggies Surprised Lol, I have a garden and I grow veggies but I don't like most of them. I'm a confusing woman hahaha. My lettuce is really good though. But I planted the dreaded broccoli too! And my tomatoes aren't growing well for some reason, my beans haven't turnt into pods so I just eat canned ones. I hate frozen green beans I think they taste funny. Sorry I just went off track.

So maybe salads with low fat or fat free dressing, stir fry, or grilled mushrooms? Bake a yam like a baked potato, thats really good or you could make baked sweet potato fries. I don't really know how to make squash any other way than frying it. lol, that is a problem I have with squash. Hope these ideas help you out some, sorry I couldn't be of more help.

Great suggestions! I'll definitely try the yams and sweet potatoe fries. I love mushrooms but I don't know how to prepare fresh ones. I've always eaten canned :(

I steam the sqaush and other veggies in a Ziploc steamer bag with some Mrs. Dash seasoning. Super quick and easy. Those bags are really handy.

Thanks for the great ideas!

Great info on the ab workouts. I bought a ball today and just done some beginner stuff...it's a lot harder than I thought it would be lol. Thats good though. The burn means it's working Laughing

So I mustered up the courage to weigh myself this morning. I've lost 6lbs since starting!!! Whoop whoop!! What a relief that was.

Starting Weight: 176.6

Goal weight in 4 weeks: 168

I need suggestions on veggies. I've been eating steamed broccoli, yellow sqaush, zuccihni, baby carrots, and bell peppers (all mixed together) for the last two weeks. I gotta be honest...just thinking about eating it again kinda makes me wanna gag. I need to shake it up a bit ya know. Any suggestions would be great?

Thanks ladies!!
