| 95, why do you come to calorie-count.com to tell everyone not to count calories? You're not helping anyone. working2recover, don't be ashamed to go to a doctor. They've seen it all, and they will not judge you any more than we do. If you were doing something so unimaginable and horrific, there would not be a name for it. |

| Yeah I hate the packaging too. BUT I bought poptarts this week, and before I ate any, I opened up all the foil packages and put them in individual sandwhich baggies then put them back in the box. Problem solved. | |||

| Hi, brooksie. I am taking a course in college on Behavior Management. One thing they've taught me that every behavior that is dropped has to be replaced by something else, or it will come back. My suggestion is to first simply focus on drinking more water. Try Crystal Light too. As you eventually get hydrated, you will lose your cravings for soda. |

| Weight Loss | I don't calorie count... | Oct 11 2006 01:17 (UTC) |

| Calorie counting isn't for everyone. It is a very specific way to diet. It lets us eat brownies and lose weight. I also lost weight just by restricting fast food, desert, and soda to one day of the week. Your body does lose weight only by consuming less calories than burned, and most of us like to see exact numbers. If what you're doing works for you, then keep on doing it. | |||

| I'm sorry about your friend. She's right, she will lose weight by eating 600 to 700 calories. But she will be starving herself. It is not so important about whether or not she will gain weight when she actually eats -- it's important what will happen to her body by starving herself. Maybe you can help educate her. |

| Weight Loss | Who's on a plateau right now? | Oct 04 2006 22:25 (UTC) |

| I've been on a plateau for about 2 months. I start out every day really good, but a lot of times by the end of the night I just want to big out. What I'm doing this month is do only eat 1300 calories a day for six days and swim 30-60 minutes 3 times a week. On Sundays I eat what I want. I'm not going to weigh myself for a month to see if it works. |

| It does not have sugar. There are five calories per serving - you can drink a pitcher and have consumed 1/4 the calories of a can of coke. Yes you can count it as water.

| Weight Loss | Confused about "free days" | Aug 16 2006 06:41 (UTC) |
31 |
| I'm sorry if I offended anyone by saying retarded. Didn't intend to be insensitive. The word retarded doesn't always mean mentally retarded. The dictionary definition is "to slow up especially by preventing or hindering advance or accomplishment." "That's retarded" simply means that it is so unhelpful it pushes progress backwards. The phrase isn't always meant to be derogatory, and sometimes it is merely to pay homage to Napoleon Dynamite., the greatest movie of all time, not including Shyamalan movies. |

| You guys are so anal. You're all saying you can never ever have a day to eat whatever you want. I'm sorry, but that's retarded. Everyone needs a day every once in a while, not every week mind you, to just say screw the whole thing I'm gonna eat what I want. For us NORMAL people, it's the only way to keep a little sanity. Going overboard every once in a while just makes it easier to get back on track. |

| Weight Loss | What's Wrong with "Starvation"? | Aug 14 2006 22:37 (UTC) |

| Think about this. You don't feed your body, and it thinks there is not enough food available. So it tries to store as much fat as possible to keep you alive as long as it can. Also your body needs a certain number of calories just for all your organs to function properly. Do some more research, search all the threads here, there is a lot of good material. And please please please eat more. You will only hurt yourself by eating less than 1000 a day. |

| You should never go under 1200 calories, or you will lose weight much more slowly, not to mention possibly damage your insides. Even if you don't feel hungry, you do need at least that much every day. | |||

| This is not what you want to hear, but: At a certain point, you cannot lose any more weight without starving yourself. You may be at this point. Why do you think you need to lose weight? I've seen your picture, and you look great. In fact, if you lost 10 pounds I think you would be too skinny. You need to work on your self perception instead of trying to drop 10. |
