well to get better fitness goals I just upped my calories from 2200-2400 to 2750 range, I wasnt really losing any more weight, however, I want to build more muscle and burn fat, so upping my calories at a perfect time.

go from 10 chins up in a row to 20

do about 30 pushups in a row, can do about 15 in a row

start bench pressing my weight (174) 8 times, I can do about 135 8 times, however, stopped lifting weigths and concentrated on pushups and chinsups and other body exercises, so I dont really know what I can do at this momement. I would hope near 145.

Weight Loss Eating more to lose, but feeling too full... could this be right??? Oct 16 2008
00:57 (UTC)

On July 18th I cut cold turkey on regular sodas and fast food.

I was eating about 4-5 smaller meals a day.

Like cereal and fat free milk and some juice

Then lunch meat sandwich and fruit

Then Turkey burger and veggies

Then Yogurt and some sort of cereal / protein bar

Then eggwhites and a regular egg

That totaled to about 1400 if that, I did not count back when I started. I felt fine the whole time because half the exercises I was doing was walking or biking easily.

Now I eat 7 meals almost a day and trying to be at a 40% carbs/40% protein/20% fat.

Then I slowly added bigger portions to and starting counting calories, that added up to around mid 1600, then I moved to 1800 range, than now to 2k range. All over the past 3 months. I am trying now to stop losing weight as quickly and at the same time build alittle bit of muscle. Pretty seem I am going to up again to 2200 and see how that works. Still just under my maintanece sedentary levels but will work out alittle harder with weights now.

I am just at my goal of 174, but have been stuck their the past 3-4 days so I believe tomorrow I am due for a 173 on the scale hopefully.

I do 40/40/20 roughly it turns out most days 43 carbs, 37 protein, 17 fats.

Fat Free Milk 1 cup

Boneless Skinless Chicken Breasts multiple servings like 4 of 4oz.

Green Beans 4 servings (2/3 cup each serv.)

Sargento Light String Cheese

Deluxe Mixed Nuts (half serving)

Better'n Eggs Allwhites (3 servings)

15 Grain Whole Grain Bread Small Slice

Kashi Go Lean (1 cup roughly)

1 Banana

Strawberries (7 large)

1 Valencia Orange

Chobani Blueberry Nonfat Greek Yogurt
Dole Pineapple Chunks in Juice 1 serving

Smuckers All Natural Peanut Butter (1 serving 2 table spoons)

I use http://www.livestrong.com to track my food, its called daily plate and is really helpful in showing me what I can fit in my diet each day.

Some of that stuff like the chicken you can eat less and just more of peanut butter to get more fat than protein, etc..

I just keep on upping my calories when I see a plateau in my losses and that kicks start it up again. Also I have been doing cardio every other day instead of every day with weights on the opposite days and that seems to be working great as well.

I use the brand Allwhites eggwhites, as well as my brother and cousin. No problems and the Superwalmart near us has then like $1 cheaper than Giant.

I usually eat one regular egg and mix it with about 1/2 cup of eggwhites seems to be a good combo.

I tend to keep my fruit intake to 3/4 a day. I have been checking most of my logs and it seems I am usually under 95g a day.

Like one orange in the morning, one banana for lunch, and a few strawberries for an afternoon snack.

Weight Loss Are u a day eater or a night eater? Oct 11 2008

I eat as early as 7am, and as late as 11pm.  As long as I space my meals correctly and have room in my daily calories I will eat anything extra at anytime really.

I do tend to eat less carbs, fats, and sugars at night though.

My confidence has gone up after my weight loss, but I still need to build my abs, chest, and arms before I feel alot better with myself so I can go to the beach and not worry since I know I will look good with my shirt off eventually.

Buying new clothes made me feel real good as well, now I know my appearance is more clean cut and less sloppy.

hang in there, it takes time and patience but it is worth it.

Fitness Hundred push-ups challenge...build muscle on a deficit? Oct 07 2008
00:31 (UTC)

I havent been able to build much, but I have been keeping what I have it seems. My arms are seeming to look sligthly bigger and firmer, and my chest is getting a tad more shapely and firmer.

I just upped my calories to 2050 from 1800 range so I am gradually trying to slow down my weight loss (2+ pounds a week to about 1 a week) buy eating more, doing alittle less cardio, and working out still.

I have been able to do more sets of pushups now as well as chin ups, so my strength is buidling slightly.

Weight Loss Giving up. Oct 04 2008
19:50 (UTC)

I would still eat more, 1350 is barely over the lowest min. for females, especially since you dont have that much to lose.

Try 1500 calories with the meals spread out and keep working out the same or try more less intense cardio for longer periods maybe. Make sure to drink plenty of water as well. It take time to get the body going, I had excess weight so it came off quickly but not with less and less to go it is becoming harder and takes longer and I find myself actually needing to eat more and more calories.

went from barely 1600 to 1800 to 1900 to 2k range soon. pretty soon most of my body fat with be gone and it will start to put on muscle at the same time.

Well the first month and 1/2 I wasnt even counting calories and didnt know about these sites, I just had my brother help me. But I was eating every few hours however if I had to guess 1600 calories, roughly.

Stopped drinking regular soda and went right to water, and no more fast food.

I ate basically 2 big bowls of cereal with %2 milk, with a glass of orange juice.

3 hours later some strawberries, lunch meat sandwich on whole grain bread, and some mixed nuts.

Then 3-4 hours later I would eat another fruit and a lean turkey burger with some veggies.

Then another few hours later I would eat a cereal bar or protein bar and a yogurt, and some pretzels.

Then another few hours I would eat 1 large egg and 3/4 cup of eggwhites.

Then maybe another snack like rice cakes or something.

Basically on July 18th I started to say I am done with having extra pounds of fat and started off with a 20 miles bike ride to work on my day off.

Basically for exercise over this time I walked about 1 hour a day, biked 1 hour a day. Then I added in some light weight training. Basically I just kept busy but not very physical just decent paces.

About 2 months in I stopped at 39 pounds for about 4 days and decided to read online and found this site and another site where I track my calories and such. So now I know I had been eating started at 1650 roughly to now I am 1850 and I started losing the weight again and I seem to feel even better now and recover even quicker. I wasnt not really trying to push myself during these times I was going at a moderate pace. It was the combination of eating healthy, with my body burning calories roughly 2700 a day and I was eating 1650.

Some may say I lost the weight too quickly but I think with my horrible diet I had that going cold turkey made my body really decide to change, I feel good never felt any pains or anything odd happening to me, I was eating enough to where I never felt like I was starving, etc... Plus I believe at least the first 7 - 8 pounds was water weight which I am sure I had excess water since I ate a very high sodium diet with lots of sugars as well. I mean I use to drink -6 regular sodas a day along with dounts, taco bell, mcdonalds, etc... Plenty of junkfood like taffy.. Yuck!!!!! No wonder I was breaking 230 pounds almost.

I stick with the regular non reduced all natural pb, I barely get enough fat as is plus 2 tablespoons is quite enough to make a nice pb sandwich.

I never had full natural almond butter,  bet that is alot more than the smuckers all natural pb I get now at walmart.
