Hey pinktulip!  First and foremost, there is no shame here on the blue team or on CC for that matter and no need to be sorry,  you just had a down week.  We all go through it.  Ups and downs are part of life and it's just what you do with them that matters.  Be glad you are not waiting until you are older to fiqure that out.  (Unlike me)  You are going to do great and we will all be here to chat with.

My name is Betsy and dare I say it.... I just turned 50. (Ouch, that hurt).  I started to lose weight in July of 2008 with a starting weight of 191.  My goal weight is SOOO close.  But  I have been stuck in this same 5lb up and down game for about 6 months.  I am generally starting to think that maybe I am done with weightloss and maybe this is my goal weight, but I wanted to give a more wholehearted effort to my first goal one last time and see for sure.

I wish everyone the best of luck, especially with the feast holiday right around the corner,  and hope cardio week is treating you well.

 , I had to get a breast reduction because I had a lot of fiborus cysts and part of the procedure included a breast lift.  I couldn't be happier.  I no longer need  2 sports bras when I run.  My boobs don't make funny nosies when I go down the stairs in my PJ.s and the most fun is my nipples don't point towards the floor anymore!.    Like Dis said, it was pretty easy, and pain free (I have a huge pain tolerance)  The only thing I have to tell you (sorry if this is 2 much TMI) is that my nips are not as sensitve as they used to be and they are pretty much always at attention if you know what I mean.

Was it me or did anybody else not like last weeks challenge.  I personally like looking at a deficit total not looking at the net.  I think they are basically the same but still didn't like it and wasn't very successful at it either.  Oh well, here's to happy fiber intake!

Steam Brussels Sprouts... Then transfer the finished product to a sautee pan that has sauteed shallots, olive oil, garlic, lemon juice & a bit of cooked down white wine... mix all together over medium heat until the sprouts are nicely coated... and then serve away! This is a delicious way to get these little cabbages down! ha ha!

 

*Spices to add: salt, pepper, thyme

If he's a drunk he probably passes out in front of his TV.  Any chance you could suggest he gets a timer for his TV to go off.  Good luck sweetie and just remember.  You are working hard to get to the next stage of your life and maybe someday when you don't live by this dolt you will be able to laugh about it.

Looks like everybody is really taking on these challenges!  I love this next one.  Anyone have a good recipe for Zuchhini?  I have a bumper crop and I have used all the recipes I have at least twice already!  Good luck everyone and keep up the Great progress.

 Agree with moonikins!  Madamq, you say you guys are coworkers so if she has no seniority over you I would really ignore her completely unless it is work related.  Good luck, office BS is such a bore not to mention it makes my stomach hurt ;o(

 Great job Blue Team! I hope everyone is enjoying their weekend and that the cardio challenge is motivating you to move!  I did a 90 minute Spin class yesterday and I thought about the challenge every minute.  Might take a rest day today though.  Good luck and keep up the excellant progress!

 Hey Tracey... Not to question your trainer, but I have always heard the opposite.  Good carbs before a workout and plenty of protein after.  (I don't mean a big steak, but I am a big supporter of protein shakes and whole wheat bread with natural peanut butter. ) Especially at my age because my bones need it.  My husband is a marathon runner and lives by the same principal.  He claims protein helps the muscle rip that long miles create.  Check it out if you can.  I would be interested to know if the theory is different. :)

Hey all,

Ended up with Sat. 74oz.  Jill since you are a nursing Mom, do you think maybe you are not getting enough calories?  I know that with my second (who was a much more aggressive nurser than my first)  I found the weight loss to go faster when I fed myself a little more.  Of course that was 18 years ago so.....I know what you mean about taking things out of the kithcen though.  We gave my older daughter the TV out of the family room to take to her first apartment which left us with the TV in the kitchen.  My routine changed to turning off all activity in the kitchen and not really thinking about food, to WooH Hoo... Kitchen's still open!  Don't get discouraged.  You are handling an incredible amount of responsiblitly right now with young kids and work.  Be kind to yourself and maybe you'll find that certain something that will tell you that all is good just as it is, don't look for perfection, there is no such thing.  We are HUMANs!

Hi Mia, Jill and John and all the Bluemates!  I am Betsy and next month I am turning 50Surprised.  I started this journey July 2008 at 191 lbs and depending on what day and which way the wind is blowing, I am 7 lbs away from my goal (131).  That's the good news, the bad news is that I have been on this plateau for about 6months :(  I really, really, really want to be at goal by my Birthday and I am hoping the BLC 13 will be the magic number for me.  

I hope that everyone kicks some butt on this challenge and that Blue will rule!

I will keep updates on our blue site as well as the main board and please feel free to pm me anytime.

It might be a good idea for people to log their challenge goals here.  I found that when there used to be a calorie deficit challenge and I had to log everyday I paid more attention to everything.  Just a suggestion. As of today I have: Thursday-64oz, Friday-50oz and so far this am 48oz,(Went to a double Spin class this am. :)
