"Help, I've fallen and can't get up!". lol! That seems to be my motto these days! I am feeling really bad. I know what I am supposed to and want to do. I am tired of the "yo-yo-ing". I want to change for good, and have a new lifestyle. Just can't seem to get past BAD BAD BAD habits. I think thats got alot to do with it, is bad habits. amspano, congrats on the weight loss! 5 is great! Glad your feeling better, and I hope you had a great birthday! wyogirl, I'm sorry about your son! Bless his heart, he is a trooper, and good to know you haven't gotten sick! I recieved one of those lovely school letters myself back in the day! My daughter had been out 9 days for asthma most of the year. Didn't realize it was the little creatures her teachers had in the classroom that she was allergic to! (the next year she was fine, animal free). Live and learn. good luck to all! |

Haven't done any exercise since Monday, nor ate well. Then yesterday I started feeling bad, a cold coming on. Today I feel achy and run down. Dh started feelilng bad, too, but he got the flu shot today. There goes our next few days. Ate soup and had popsicles for my throat. I'll just keep reading all of your posts to keep me motivated till I feel better! Amspano 1, I understand where your coming from. Weight seemms to do that, go up and down, then stabilize before it goes down again. I am talking from my own experience, not of any real knowledge I have about the subject. It's like it wants to fight to stay up! Just keep up what your doing, and I'm sure you'll lose it. good lucck! |

kathiemfb and delaney, thanks for your replies. They are so true. You really went through alot, kathiemfb. I think if my son didn't go into the military, he would be in a situation like your son. By no means has my son grown up and he's been in almost 2 years. Delaney, great job on the 5 miles and what you did for your mom! Didn't exercise today. Babysat from 8-6, an 8 mo and 3 yr old. Dh and I were going to go out to eat dinner, but he ate lunch out. So I ordered a pizza and we both ate three peices! At least I ate well earlier in the day. I plan to do a w/o video in the morning before I go to babysit at 10 AM. I hope to do my walk later in the day. Hey odat1117, good luck! |

I just can't seem to get out of this "eating mode". I'm not even hungry and I'm eating. Gained another couple of pounds. 17 lbs total. I just don't know what the heck is going on with my head. I do feel stressed out, but this is ridiculous! I really feel "stuck" in my life, and need to make some lifestyle changes. Just don't know what to change, and how. Ugh. My daughter wants to move back home and go to the college here instead of where she is going now. I really like her being gone. It's much more peaceful, and I don't care for her lifestyle or friends., so thats been botherig me. Its always something. Just life. Can't keep letting things get to me! Hoe you all are doing better! |

This past week has been the same. So no surprises that I haven't lost any weight. Just been up and down the same 4-5lbs. The other thing I noticed about myself, which may make a difference, is that I really feel old. I've been in the "fighting" mode of denying my age. Well, I am 48, and I feel alot older. I guess when i look in the mirror it's not just the weight, its more grey hair, the droopy skin, and just not keeping myself up. I look like a mess! and I think will the work in trying to lose weight be worth it? And will I keep it off? I've lost and gained weight 10 times already! You see those older ladies who are very overwieght and look like they have given up, well I feel like I'm almost there. Which really sucks cuz I'm finally at a point in my life that I can do for me now, and I have no drive for it. The inside is matching the outside now. Used to be I'd look in the mirror and think "who is that?". Now its "that really is me". Maybe I'm having my midlife crisis. Just doing a bit of soul searching lately. Sorry to be a bummer! On a good note-I walked 6 miles today and stayed in my calorie range!

thanks, meworks. the name says it all! My reward? at this point just feeling good about accomplishing my goals is reward enough. Fitting into my old clothes would be good too! wyogirl, sorry about your son! Glad he is doing better and hope you don't catch it. Made my goals yesterday of workout video, walk, and no drinking. Did that. But I did overeat last nite with snacks. Going through my kitchen and getting rid of the junk stuff or anything else I may get into (shells and cheese!?). I have been going over my calories by 500-1000 a day. Amazing. So I know what I have to do there. My problem is either I'm hungry, board, or tired. Today my goal is to do my walk (4 mi) and no drinking. Good luck to all and have a good day! |

I can relate with the drinking and eating after, meworks. A "reward" can help keep us on track. Hope that worked for you. I drank beer last nite and ate ALOT after. My goal for today is no drinking, exercise video and walk. So as for me, everday is "starting over". |

Hi all. I have been keeping track of my calories the last week. Its not going very well. I do well early in the day, then after 4 PM I get hungry and tired and overeat and have some beers. We also had company the last 2 weekends which means lots of food and alcohol. I've gained 6 lbs. I have been walking more and trying to do my workout videos daily. My goal is to get to 150 by Dec 20. Thats 22 lbs. Can't believe the weight comes back so easy. |

Thanks, robin9395. Your right about tracking calories for long term. Looks like something I too will have to do to keep my weight down. It really is a small price to pay if it works!

Hi, would like to join if not too late. I had lost 24 lbs from Aug 08 to May 09, from 178 to 154. And I am up to about 170 (?) right now. I'm so bummed. I want to get back into a routine again. I did the CC and it helped alot, but I got lazy, so I'm STARTING OVER again. My goal is 150. I'll start CC and walking again. Thanks! |

I, too, have the same cravings. I've tried lots of little tricks, and nothing seems to work to really satisfy that craving. Although I have tried 100 calorie packs of cookie things, or the Hostess 100 cal packs, and thats ok. The other thing I've tried which isn't bad is low fat yogurt. Especially banana cream pie, or the lemon flavor. I know they aren't the healthiest, and too have fake sugar, but I figure I'm getting some calcium, low cal, and better than sweets. |

Hi Mandy, I have fallen off the wagon off and on from about 3 wks ago, and trying slowly to get started back again. (yesterday my daughter's friend brought over 2 boxes of Krispy Kreme donuts!!. I had one yesterday and one today. I will be throwing them out tomorrow). Using the CC and logging in daily calories does keep me in line, and I keep working out even when I don't feel like it. I try to focus on good food choices. If I'm hungry, I eat. Healthy things though. Not processed foods. And I try to save Fri or Sat for treats, (sweets or chips and queso!) Then I don't feel deprived. One day at a time. This won't be your first or last falling-off-the-wagon. Just continue on at where you are now. Read weight loss info, and try new recipes. That may help keep you motivated too. You'll do fine! Good luck! |

I do take a class once a week, but it only lasts 6-8 weeks as it is at the university. Otherwise I also have several Rodney Yee tapes, "AM PM" yoga is my favorite. The 2 workouts are only 20 min each, which is good. Working out at home longer than 30 min is hard for me. I always have something else to do! |

Hi tesla25 I'll respond to your question by what I have done to lose weight. Everyone does things differently, so what may work for me won't work for you. I started by cutting out processed foods. I eat eggs, oatmeal, ckn breast, salads, fresh fruit, fat free/low fat dairy, ect. I save the weekend for treats and eating special foods. I found that really didn't help, cuz I overate. I have learned to cut back at that too, tho. I started walking 2 mi per day, and now up to 4. I make small changes at first because it tends to be easier than doing too much. I overeat when I am stressed or bored, so that is something I need to still work on. Hope I was a little help! Good luck!

Haven't kept up well. My usual excuses being stressed ( I have a 17 yr old daughter driving me crazy, mother-in-law here for a month, and my son is home on his 2 wk military leave). This supposed "Happiest time of the year" is also the most stressful. I just ate a bunch of crap, and I really couldn't tell you what it was. That's very disappointing. I'm trying to learn to deal with those urges/emotions, but it got the best of me. I know I plan to continue the weight loss after the challenge is over. I'm not giving up. To tell you the truth, I'm surprised I have lost this much. SW 177 CW 155 GW 147 8 lbs to go.

Hang in there deloughly! I'm glad Anubis is doing ok. Hope you feel better soon. I hope your doing better Tyrdrop. During challenging times is when I tend to slip up. I've been kind of stresses and tired, and have been eating more than usual. I think I have to change to different meals now that its getting colder. Soup and chili sound good these past few days. I need to find some healthy recipies. I still have 9 lbs to go till the end. I'd at least like to lose 6 lbs to get to 150, but if I get even close to that I'll be ok till after the holidays. SW177 CW156 GW147 Everyone have a great day! |

Didn't log in last week because I have been afraid to step on the scale. I overate more than I'd like to, and did not count cals this week. Only 1 month left and i need to lose 8 lbs. After that I want to lose 7-12 lbs to reach my ultimate goal of 135-140. I'm glad to see so many hanging in there. Good luck this week with all the food we are to be bumbarded with! Anyone have any plans on how to get through Thanksgiving without over doing it or will you just eat and not worry about it? SW 177 CW 155 GW 147 |

Glad to know everyone is hanging in there!! SW 177 CW 156 GW 147 Only 9 lbs to go. Its really helping that a work friend and I are both working on losing weight. She's on WW. We walk 5 mi everyday after work (up from 4 mi recently). We also keep each other from eating the snacks that we are "supposed" to bring to work every week. Yes, we are all assigned a day to bring snacks to work. We don't go in the work room even if there's something healthy. Too tempting and don't want to get in the habit. Everyone keep up the good work! |

It takes a while to get used to eating differently. Its taken me several months to get used to eating healthy. I gave up processed foods and that forced me to eat better. I eat more salads, veggies (with protein) and veg soups. I also have been using fruit for when I want something sweet. Look for new recipes and try a few. |

Glad you are all looking for a change with a new pres. Why do you look to the government to change your life? Everyday you can do something to change yours or someone elses life. Democrat or republican it really doesn't mean much. Don't be stupid with your money and take on more than you can afford. You want the "rich" to pay more taxes? Lots of those people are your bosses and will pass it on. So why not just take it out of your own pocket and give it to somebody else. Yea, you know someone having a hard time, give them a fifty. Maybe a hundred. Don't want a war in Irag? We'll just fight it on our turf instead. Change begins with ourselves. |
