I've lost another 3 pounds! Not sure how. I went away for the weekend. Ate all kinds of crap, drank wine and cocktails, didn't exercise and when I did my regular weigh in at the gym there it was 207. I'll take it, just not sure it helps to encourage me to bust my @$$ working out. |

I have been seriously working at losing weight for 4 months. I am 43 years old, started out at 222 pounds and am now down to 210. My goal weight is 160 which is where I was 8-9 years ago. I have been losing weight very slowly, which is discouraging. Though I have been losing inches: 4 inches on my waist, 3.5 on my hips, 3.5 on my chest, 2 in my upper arms, and 1.5 in my thigh. I keep my calorie intake to 2000 – 1600. I was taking in 3000 plus before. I exercise 4-5 times a week for an hour - to an hour and a half. My routine includes a 5 minute warm-up on the stationary bike, 10 minutes of stretching, 20 minutes of serious cardio on the treadmill, and depending on the day 30-50 minutes of floor exercises, free weights and machines. (I have a weak knee and need to spend time strengthening the muscles that support it – I want to get it strong enough that I can run on it.) I’m looking for suggestions on dropping the pounds. What am I doing wrong? I read all these great testimonials about women losing pounds. Am I on the right track?

I've lost only 12 pounds (going for 50) and have lost 3.5 inches from my chest, but my cup size is still about a C. I have been doing plenty of upper body exercises with free weights to maintain the muscles in my chest. I don't think being on the pill matters - it's what exercises you do and your genes. |
