I've been on synthroid for about 6 or so years now and am on 100 mg a day.

This may not be the case for everyone but this is what helped me when at first I wasn't feeling the full effects:

First, it takes a while for it to take effect. It can take months to get up to the recommended dose as you need to work up to it gradually.

Second with synthroid there are a few rules you HAVE to follow for it to take full effect... Take it atleast 2 hours after eating and don't eat for an hour after taking it.  You also aren't supossed to take a multivitamin or any other medication within four hours of taking the synthroid.  It inhibits the absorbsion.

It wasn't until I was very religious about the rules that I really felt back to normal energy wise.

Again this may not be why everyone is having trouble but it's just a few suggestions to keep in mind.  I haven't ever heard of armour so I don't know anything about that part.

Weight Loss Fish oil, eh? Feb 06 2009

I've been taking both fish oil and flaxeed supplements for years.  As for the fat loss I can't say anything because it was always in conjuction with a lower calorie diet and excercise.  They have however, made my nails like steel and my skin is a lot better.  They also help take away the extreme nausea my vitamin gives me... but only if I take them all at the same time.

Weight Loss Is it possible to eat too little even if you arent hungry? Dec 16 2008

I did a low carb/ atkin's type diet a while ago... I found that I really wasn't hungry at all.

And while I have no professional knowledge when it comes to food and what your body needs...If you are getting 1500 calories a day then you clearly aren't starving yourself.

It's just with the low carb you tend to get in smaller amounts of more calorie dense food.

So it seems like you are eating less amount you are still getting enough calories.

Disclaimer: I have no idea if that made any sense... :P I'm kind of tired.

Weight Loss Time to get the thyroid checked? Nov 16 2008

Are you experiencing any other symptoms of hypothyroidism? Fatigue, weakness, hair loss, dry skin, can't really tolerate being cold... etc.

A lot of people don't really have symptoms... It just depends on how severe it is.

I have had hypothyroidism since I was about 10.  It's a simple blood test and if your hormone levels are low you just have to take a little pill of synthetic hormone every day. It's really not bad at all.

I've also heard that in some really mild cases that a special diet was enough to fix the issues.

I say if you are worried about it, just go ahead and get it checked. If it is your thyroid you can get pretty sick if you let it go for a long time untreated.

Weight Loss those last pesky pounds......??? Aug 22 2008

Congratulations on 50 lbs that is absolutely amazing!

I have recently lost 120 lbs and I hit plateaus every 20 lbs in the beginning then every ten. Blah. So I understand how stubborn they can be.

Basically your body just gets used to what you are doing so you need to switch it up.

I agree that zig zagging your calorie intake for a bit will probably be all you need to re start your weight loss.

Personally, it also helped me if I switched up my exercise.  I would also go on occasional high calorie weekends.  I was averaging about 1500 calories a day but I would bump it up to about 2200 calories only for a day or two.

Congrats again. And good luck with those last few pounds.

Like everyone else said: it all depends.

If you do find that losing those last ten pounds does make your butt disappear you can always do some squats and lunges to build a toned round butt.

Good Luck!

Hey all!

I just stumbled upon this wonderful place while trying to find some different tips on losing those last 20 pounds.

I'm 20, 5'5 and 150 lbs.  I've been CC for just under two years and have lost 115 lbs.

My doctor and I decided that between 120 and 130 would be ideal for my body type and frame.

I just Oh so desperately want these last 20 off.  I'm so glad I found this place.  Its so much easier when you have great support and motivation.  Good luck, everyone!!
