I thought I had replied on Friday but apparently I didn't :) Danielle - I agree with Megs on how to up your calories. I have found that good protein at all is a great way to increase those calories (peanut butter, nuts, protein bars or drinks, etc.). Not only will you make sure you are getting in your calories but you will make sure you aren't losing any muscle while losing weight. Megs - Great job on the 3 miles!! Running can be so addicting! I used to only be able to walk and now I"m running 3 miles. Granted it's a faster run and a slower jog but I'm still not walking at all :) Just be careful with starting too fast, to far. I did that and you can over train so quickly. They say to only do about 10% a week on distance. I have also heard a lot of people on here talk about the couch to 3k or something like that.. maybe that would help you get started? Soraya - Great job on eating so well and working out those 4 days!! Oh and as for that stupid Ad yes, that is super annoying. It was funny I had told my husband that we needed to throw out the pie and he said we would on Thursday, well Thursday came and I went to get my last piece and it was gone, he had thrown it out. It made my craving worse but then I realized it really helped save calories and now all is good and I'm back to not eating much sweets again :) Cindy - Great job on your eating.. I too have had a hard time getting all my veggies in I would love any advice you have. Putting them in the eggs is a great way and I will have to try that :) Me - I've gotten back to eating better, wouldn't say great but better. I still haven't gotten back to working out my 5 days a week yet but this week things have calmed down so I will get in there and do it. I did my 3.3 miles yesterday and I was so proud of myself. I didn't want to go (it was cold outside 24 degrees F) but I went and if felt great. I will start my 4th week of the new rules, which seems to be going fine, and then run a mile or so after my lifting. Then tonight I'm going to a Metalica concert that won't get over until about midnight so I'm going to be dragging you know what tomorrow. Hopefully that won't hinder tomorrow'**** session :) |

So I haven't posted in a while, it's been a bit crazy around the house lately. I haven't really counted calories since before thanksgiving and it is killing me. I haven't been eating well and it's showing in the weight department. I'm up 2 lbs to 135. I haven't been able to work out like I normally do, only doing about 4 days instead of 5 and it's been more cardio than weight lifting. Only weight lifting about 2 days a week. I'll get back into it, it's just got to settle down around here soon. We don't do much food stuff for Christmas so I'm good for the rest of the year on out. Maybe a couple of treats here and there. What I need is to get that stupid pumpkin pie out of my house! I did workout today, one week 2 of the new rules and liking it. Then after I was done with that I ran a 10 minute mile (this is a first for me) WAHOO Oh another cool thing, I used the mapmyrun.com to figure out how long I was running at home and found out it was 3.3 miles. No where near the 10 miles Gina does but I'll get there someday :) Hope everyone is well! Stefanie |

Soraya - bugger!! So if I'm losing weight, lifting heavy 3 days a week and doing cardio 2 days, but my micronutritions are super great.. I'm losing what? muscle? I'm just concerned because thus far I have been happy with my rate of weight loss, 1 lb a week. From 168 to 133, but now I'm at that last 13 to 20 I want to lose and I just want to make sure I do it right :) Megs- I agree with Soraya, you will get there and you will feel great! Just remember it takes time and those stupid plateaus will end. Danielle - Great job on getting those lbs off~ and great job on getting the workout stuff. |

Soraya - Good point about the skinny fat and that is what I'm trying to avoid. I work out at least 4 days and I usually have about a 15% fat, 20 to 25% protein and the rest carbs. I'm trying to up my protein but in the process seem to up my fat too. But sometimes it's not the best fats though (sometimes I eat bean dips, or fast food - though this last one is rarely). Most of the time I just wonder if the micronutritions are as important as having the deficit. If that makes sense. Great job by the way on breaking the plateau!!! As for keeping me in a healthy mndset, I'm not sure I'm any help to you there. I won't go overboard but I will be trying just about everything but in moderation. My goal this week is to workout as much as possible and to keep it in moderation. Stefanie |

I think we all have days where we could use improvements :) I haven't been eating that well and only working out 3 days a week and that is bumming me out. I work out in the gym, it's the only way I'll work out. Too much goes on at home. I too, hope everyone else is well! |

Soraya - Great job on working out!! It's amazing how working out makes you feel better. I know by the time the weekend is up (gym is about 30 minutes away so I only go during work), I feel sluggish and cranky. It wasn't until I started running on the weekends that I started to feel better. :) Megs - I agree on getting fuller faster. I think for me too, it has to do with the more veggies and fruits though. Karey -I'm glad you are getting better! Yummy Mexican! I love me a mexican food :) and of course shoe shopping will make anyone happy.. well I don't actually like to shop but I do like getting new clothes if that makes sense. Gina -I don't know you that well but you mentioned talking to an ex that might not have been such a good idea. Hope it went okay. I have always love martial arts (I look Tai Won Do) when I was younger and really liked it. It's empowering. I really commend people that are going to not eat stuff at Thanksgiving. I'm going to just let myself eat though because I don't eat as much now, I get fuller quicker so I think I won't end up eating as much. You must be in such great shape to be doing 10 miles!! And I've heard you say Brock before and that he's your training partner.. there is nothing else to that? :) My plans for thanksgiving are to have family over and watch football and eat. Danielle - I'm glad your daughter is all better! I'm sure those three lbs are probably just water weight and will be easily shed once you get back into a routine. I would stick to the higher calorie count. I'm 5'2" and I eat about 1500 to 1600 calories to lose. So I would image that you would need more. Sarah - Good luck at the doctor! I hope you get the go ahead. Me - Well I haven't been doing too well on the eating front and have only been working out about 3 days a week due to schedule issues. Question for you guys, if I want to lose fat and my diet isn't the cleanest but it's within my calorie limit, will I still lose fat? Maybe that's a stupid question but I was just thinking and probably over thinking. |

I hated pictures of myself especially when I started but it's great to look now and see how far I have really come. So it's not nice now but it will be later :) As for the all or nothing, yep that does have to go out the door. It makes it too easy to quite when that is going on. That's why I keep looking at the big picture of where I want to be. Today isn't a big deal if tomorrow is good, etc. etc. The new rules is mostly free weights and some body weight. It has cable stuff in there but no other types of machines. |

Soraya - I hope you had a good time at your sisters birthday party and I'm sure you looked great :) Karey - WOW girl!! You did a great job with all the updates.. at least I don't feel bad for having really long posts if I'm not the only one :) I'm so sorry you aren't feeling well.. I'm in the same boat of not feeling well though I don't sound as bad as you! I hope you get better soon! I agree with everyone on the Vegas thing.. I like it for 3 days and was glad to leave at that point.. To much noise, people and smoke for me! But it is fun to do at least once. I'm a bit concerned about the new rules book. I really don't think I should be eating that much. I still have some weight I want to lose and I want to lose that weight in fat, so I'm a bit confused. I upped my calories and I gained a half a lb. Though I have to admit those calories were the best ones I could have chosen :) I more wanted a new routine so I'm using it more for that than anything. I think I'm going to move my calories back down tot he 1500 to 1600 and then have the one day of maitanence of 1700 or 1800. Megs - Did you get to the gym? Great job if you did.. As for getting frustrated.. well I think that is just part of the process. I just have to keep in mind that I'm doing more than I was, that I could still be unhealthy and not doing anything or at least being healthy and on my way to losing. That was the only thing that kept me from throwing in the towel on my plateau. Sarah - Welcome back.. though I'm a newbie.. but welcome back anyway.. I'm so sorry to hear of your loss! It sounds like you have been recovering well and that you have a really good outlook on the situation. Stefanie |

Angela - I'm glad I'm not the only one.. I felt bad about not posting :) Are you still counting your calories? I really think it's a good idea to take a picture of yourself either every month or every other month. That way you can "see" the changes. Measuring is hard for me because I don't know where I'm supposed to measure and I'm always concerned I'm measuring in different places giving me different numbers. I do weigh in every time I'm at the gym (usually 4 times a week) but I don't take the number seriously but once a week (so I "weigh in" on Mondays but I would see three other numbers throughout the week") I would only use that Monday number as my "real" weigh in though. This helps me keep track of things and stay on track. Good for you for not giving up.. it's hard and it can be frustrating.. I remember when I went on a 6 week plateau.. Man I was really, really cranky! as for new rules.. I like it.. I'm not following the diet stuff really (though it's not really a "diet" more than just eat at maintenance and eat more protein really. I am trying to eat more protein but the eating at maintenance is scary to me. I like the workouts thus far.. A bit easier than what I was doing but I'm going to give it a bit of time. It's good to mix things up and I am sore today from yesterday's workout :) I think it's going to be a good program. |

Hey guys :) I stopped posting because it seemed that others did too, so I wasn't sure if everyone still wanted to keep this alive :) Mar - I'm so sorry to hear about you and your bf. I know it's hard right now! Though I always say it's not a good thing to pick somewhere just because of a man. You sound like you have great aspirations and you should go with them and live your dream and think about YOU. So maybe and I know this is going to sound silly but maybe it is for the best. As for which school.. I have no idea because I don't know enough about them. But I think you have some thoughts already because you gave reasons on both. Angela - That is awesome about the 5k.. who cares if it was slow and slow in who's book? I'm sure you did great! Also, great job on getting to the gym.. that is half the battle.. :) hehe.. I sound like an 80's child .. hehe Mandy - Great job on the P90X!! Have you gained any weight on your eating more? If not they maybe you are okay. I think this time of year is hard for everyone and if we can just get past it without gaining.. I think I would be happy :) Me - I haven't been eating that well either.. Three days of a "cheat" meal.. Opps.. And it will be two this week. November is hard for me because we are sooo busy! My daughters birthday is tomorrow (had her birthday party for the kids yesterday, then will have a family birthday party tomorrow for her), then thanksgiving then the following week is my son's birthday. So November gets eaten up with a bunch of food :) I have been going to the gym 4 times a week and I added a run on the weekends now. So that's working out 5 days a week.. Pretty excited about that. Not sure if I told you guys but I stared the "new rules of lifting for women".. Did the first one on Wednesday (had two lunch dates on Thursday and Friday) and then I ran on Sunday, so my second workout is today. I have been trying to up my protein and in that, have also upped my calories a bit. I hope that doesn't hurt my weight loss. I'm officially or was last week at 133, so we will see what I am today after some not so great eating. Hope all is well with everyone. |

Meg - I go to the gym 4 days a week mostly. This week I didn't because I had/will have lunch "dates". So this week is only 3 days but I will work out at least 4 days because I will run on Friday probably and then again on Sunday so I guess that is actually 5.. That is new though. As for when I eat.. I eat at my desk right after I get back from the gym. I'm sorry you haven't been feeling well.. that really sucks. Can I ask why you would be eating just veggies all day? That doesn't seem like a healthy balance of food. I would guess that maybe that is why you are getting headaches.. Though if I remember correctly Gina is the nutritionist :) The nice thing for me about calorie counting is nothing is off limits for me. I do eat what I want but I just eat smaller portions. I have made healthier choices of food though.. Instead of white bread, pasta, etc. I have chosen wheat, etc. Also something to think about.. this shouldn't be a diet.. diets end and then you go back to eating the same way you gained the weight in the first place. I have chosen to eat the way I do knowing that I can live with continuing it for the rest of my life. Kinda long but I hope it helps. |

ERRRGGG I'm so irritated! I had a super long post going through everyone's posts and commenting and my computer shut IE down :( I lost it all. That was this morning. So here I go again.. Karey - I get you are having a great job in vegas and can't wait to hear all about it :) I really want to go when they are showing the Phantom of the Opera.. I really want to see that. Soraya - I love your attitude towards this whole journey! I think that is such an inspiration! As for all the stuff you have going on.. that sucks.. I hope things clear up for you soon! Bee - Glad to hear you had a good session with your trainer. I think it's super important to like and trust your trainer. As for the not counting calories, when you're sick, you're sick and it's all about the end game so I"m sure you didn't do any damage in the long run. That is awesome that your roommate is helping your motivation. I too, have found that if I can get to the gym when I don't feel good I tend to actually feel better afterwards. I now don't have as much of a hard time going when I don't feel well by remembering that. As for chinese food.. well I'm horrible at eating out and making good choices so I always use that as my "cheat" meal. Leigh - Good luck on the push-up challenge as for wager suggestions.. make him clean your house/apartment, clean your car, massage your feet? Megs - I'm so sorry you were sick! Must be the time of the year! As for a routine and when to work out.. For me I really had to look at what was important to me. I love my sleep so I knew I wouldn't work out in the morning, I know that when I get home from work I don't sit down until 8 or 9 so I know I won't work out at night. My only option was at my lunch time. I think that was my biggest help to really look at what would work for me. You can do it :) Danielle - I hope your daughter gets better soon.. for you and her :) I think Soraya gave some great advice! Gina - I think a lot of people get into your situation when winter comes. What about rock climbing? I have always wanted to try that and I would think that might help to make you "feel" like you are outside? Or maybe a new routine at the gym (I just bought New Rules of Lifting for Women) and so far I really like it. Though I've just started day 1 of stage 1, yesterday. Me - Okay so this whole time I'm typing I'm backing it up in notepad so that I don't have to retype if I lose it again!! Stupid computer.. I'm sure Gina you can relate somewhat :) I've been doing okay with eating.. not great but I have lost weight so I guess I'm not doing too bad. I'm now 133.5.. that's 35 lbs down! 13 more to go :) I'm doing well in the gym and have started working out 5 days a week.. Started a run on Sundays now. As I said above I bought the new rules of lifting for women the other day and just started the stage 1 yesterday. It seemed a bit easier than what I was doing but it gets progressively harder so I will wait and see. I'm not using the diet portion of the book but I might up my calories to see what that does. (that's what he recommends for the first 4 weeks to just try it) then you can bring it down if you need to. Hope everyone is getting better and I know you can all do it :) Stefanie |

Okay I'm a dope :) I now see that Shapeshifter actually puts her name on the bottom of each of her posts.. Soraya it is :) I'll get it at some point. Where is your name derived from? Are you in the states? I saw that oatmeal cookie ad too and I have to admit I was looking around trying to find a healthy recipe so I could make them tonight. Though I think I'm going to end up making no bakes which are pretty bad for you :) (they are the ones that you have oatmeal, sugar, milk, butter, vanilla extract, peanut butter) YUMMY - they are made on the stove hence the "no bake" Good luck on the clothes.. Hopefully they will be too big :) Megs - Great job on the eating and great job on upping the breakfast I was thinking I would be starving if I had just ate a banana (but I'm a breakfast person) :) Do you count your calories or are you just eye balling your intake? danielle- If that isn't what you want to be referred to as, just let me know :) Awesome job on the food intake! I think it's great that you have a plan and are sticking to it! Me - So yesterday I went to the gym, did squats, bench press and bent over row, then ran for about a half a mile (didn't have time for more). Today I went to the gym and did HIIT on the stationary bike and then did abs. My eating has been okay but maybe too high on the fat percentage side so I need to watch that. It was my TOTM so I was bloating a bit but it seems to have gone away and I'm still at the 134 today, so no gain and that is usually how it is. I usually don't check in on the weekends with kids and home stuff I usually don't have time but the plan is to take a run on Sunday so I'll let you guys know if I do :) |

Hello everyone.. welcome new people.. I'm new too so that feels kinda weird to say that :) Man there is tons going on in here, hopefully I can keep up :) How do you all keep your names and stuff all together? Here I go... Shapeshifter - I hear you on eating more when you get down farther. I have definately done that. Almost like well it's working so I can give myself a break. Dang bad habits! Danielle?- I think it's great that you are working on portion control, that is a HUGE step in the right direciton. I did the same thing at first and then I started working out in the gym. Working out helped me be accountable to my eating. Do I really want that.. because I would have to do "blah" exercise for "blah" amount of time just to work it off. Just to break even :) Bee - I really like my "cheat" meal, it really helps me feel like this isn't a diet but a way of life and a way I could keep going on and on. I agree with Shapeshifter, you shouldn't feel guilty for eating right and being healthy in front of your roommate! Leigh? - Goals are a great thing to have and I love the mini goal idea. I did that for every 5 or 10 lbs, depending on where I was. Though I had a hard time at first of not doing it with food. Had to be something that wasn't food related. New iTunes song, or new workout clothes, new clothes in general, etc. I also agree with Shapeshifter on taking measurements. I also took pictures (Front, back and side) and do this every month or couple of months. It really has helped me "see" a difference too. gddrdld (is that Gina?) - Great job on eating healthy! and WOW 6 miles!!! that is AWESOME! We had our computer about 4 months ago go and we got lucky that literally the night before my hubby had backed it up to our external hard drive. Though he didn't get all and we did lose pictures of the kids and my first picture before I started losing weight. Megs - That's good that you don't weigh when you know things just aren't "right". I wish I couldl do that :) I'm multi-tasking at work.. will respond to more when I get done :) |

Thank you everyone for your great stories and help with that stupid BF crap. It really did help to hear I wasn't the only one. Mar- Good luck on that test! I'm sure you did just fine. I really hate waiting for results! I bet you are getting so excited to come here. How long are you wanting to stay? You are wanting to go to school here right? Zima - Again thank you for your support! I hope you got my PM back :) Did you get your P90X workout in? Angela - Finny that you said that picture wasn't you, I had always thought it was, so when you talked about your weight loss I was like .. WOW I would LOVE to look like her :) Me - Nothing new here.. I had my cheat day yesterday and I felt sick afterwards. I went to TGI Fridays and had a bowl of broccoli and cheese soup and 3 breadsticks. It was yummy but I felt like crap afterward. Then I had subway for dinner (doesn't sound bad right..) well when you have a 6 inch tuna and cheetos.. it makes it bad :) Well back on the eating healthy today and to the gym in a little bit. |

Okay, you guys will have to forgive me I don't know your names yet.. Bee - I definitely think the 1500 is a much better number. And Shape is right, you will end up binging badly or worse yet.. after you plateau you may end up eating "normal" again and then gain what you lost and then some. Very few people actually can eat that little and be healthy doing it. I did that right before I found out I was pregnant. I didn't know better, had no idea about any of this calorie stuff. Anyway, I gained 55 lbs during my pregnancy, IT SUCKED :) Oh and I have found that for me if I do a calorie range it helps to keep me on track and I don't feel so bad to hit it exactly. Mine is 1400-1600 and I usually am around 1500 but if I go to 1600 I'm okay with that too. Also, I usually do one day that I allow myself a maintenance day to keep my body guessing to avoid that stupid plateau. Thanks for the compliments and thanks for the feedback on the BF test.. I am really hearing that again and again, so I'm going to call bull on it. K9 - Yes I have seen you on somewhere too but I can't remember where :) Sounds like you and I are doing about the same kind of thing working out wise that will be nice to bounce stuff off of you. Great job waking up early and getting your cardio in.. That is awesome! Shape - I just really think it sucks that they would do that to someone! Don't think know what emotionally it does! I can't say the word I want to here because CC will cut it out anyway. Not sure where you came from on the weight from but GREAT job on it going down if that is your goal :) I really, really can't stand office drama, in fact I pretty much work only with men because the estrogen is low and thus the drama is low :) I worked in what I called the "hens nest" and I had to quit because I kept getting myself in trouble because I didn't play their games. Hopefully it will get better soon for you! Me - Today was my workout day off, and my cheat meal. I went to lunch with my hubby to TGI Fridays and got my FAV. Though I can't find the stupid calorie count, I had the bowl of broccoli and cheese soup and 3 breadsticks (CARB OVERLOAD and I feel sick) but man it was good. I will take about a mile walk a bit later so at least I'll get some exercise outside normal taking care of two small kids (almost 5 and almost 2) |

That is really sad that someone would do that to someone just to make a buck! I would have been more than happy to get training to get more ideas of different lifting techniques.. I just want to be realistic about my progress and weight. Is it really possible to lose muscle and gain fat and lose inches while in a calorie deficit and while lifting heavy (relative to me)? He mentioned that the macro nutrients were what was important to lose the last 15 lbs. Man I should have just not done it and starting questioning myself! TIA everyone!! I really appreciate all the knowledge you have. |

I see that you guys have had this around for a while but can I still join? A little about myself.. I'm in another group so I feel like I'm jumping ship but I'm not I just need more people to talk to :) And you guys seem like a good group of ladies. My name is Stefanie, I'm 31 (Yikes I've been having issues with this), I'm currently 134 and have lost, tossed, thrown away :) 34 lbs, oh and I'm 5'2" (maybe a half in there, I"m not completely sure). I still have 15 I would like to have off of me, but I really don't care about the number, I just want the jiggle to go away. I go to the gym 4 days a week of those 4, 3 days are lifting heavy (squats, lunges, deadlifts, overhead press, pretty much any compound movement I can find), then one day of HIIT. If I get my lifting done early I will do some steady state cardio. I had a really difficult day yesterday, I went to the gym for an orientation with a trainer (I don't have one currently, don't want one, told them that but he offered to do a cardio test and a body fat % test, which I was interested in). When I started I thought I was at 30% or 31%, so when he did the test yesterday I was expecting maybe 26%. Well, no it was 34%.. WHAT!!!! So that would have meant that I would have lost muscle, gained fat and somehow had to lose inches during all of that (since I went from a size 14 to a now size 6 - which is actually too big, I need a size 4). Logic tells me something is off but I keep thinking I am just making excuses because I don't want to believe it. I want to be realistic about my progress. So I was thinking about going to a nutritionist and seeing if they could do a test, cause I also want to have my RMR tested. On the good news front, I was able to do 30 push ups (yes the full ones not on your knees) without stopping. I look forward to "meeting" you guys.. |

Mar - I think I missed something what tests? Those measurements are awesome.. GREAT JOB!! I didn't used to weigh everyday but I have found that I don't fluctuate as much so I can handle a lb either direction and not get too worked up. But I know others really have to watch it.. and I have heard of people that have their husbands actually hide the scale until the "Day" to avoid having those freak outs. Tabby - Great job on the class.. holy cow that is a long time to be working out! Me - Well I'm a bit depressed and I know I probably shouldn't be because I know I've come a long way. I can hear the logic in my head talking but it still doesn't make me feel better because I just keep thinking I'm just making excuses. I had my fitness test yesterday and he basically told me I was out of shape and fat :( Not in those words but man that's how I felt. He did the caliper test and said I had 34% body fat? How the F did that happen??? I can't be sure but I think it was less than that when I started over 34 lbs ago? Even if it wasn't.. really that high?? So if that is the case then I would have had to lose muscle (while lifting heavy), gained fat and somehow in the process lost inches?? So doesn't make sense.. So then I think maybe he made the numbers higher to sell me on training and so that he could show that his program dropped body fat. Though I don't plan on getting any training from him. I felt like crap yesterday.. On the good news front.. I lost another lb so I'm at 134 now oh and I was able to do 30 push ups without stopping. Though my shoulders hurt today :) So now I'm thinking about going to a nutritionist and getting my body fat checked as well as my RMR. It's really for the RMR - I'm really interested to see if I really do have my calories right. |

Thanks for all your replies so far!! I began to question him when he started saying that he wouldn't suggest for me to lift heavy. He never did give a good explaination as to why. Though he did want me to add more cardio. So I'm going to do lifting for a half hour then cardio for the other half for two weeks and he wants to redo the body fat percentage. Thoughts? |

Tabby - Your weight fluctuates because at any given time you can have more food in your stomach, you can have more water in your system, you could be close to the TOTM, you could have eating more sodium and retained water (this is different for me than the water in the system because I drink a ton of water). It is completely normal to fluctuate 2 to 5 lbs at any given time. This is why people say if you can't handle it well then to only weigh once a week, same time, same clothes, same scale. If you want to weigh every day then you have to look at more of an average. Some people on here use the trend line to make sure they are seem progress. Again, great job on the weigh loss thus far! Angela - Thank you so much of the chicken recipe, I didn't end up using it, I actually realized that boca burgers sounded really good :) So that's what we had last night for dinner. Got those thin buns from sara lee and it help to make it better for me. Zima - Being a Raiders fan I'm surprised you didn't call me a Sea Chicken :) We went to the 1999 game between Raiders and Seattle and it was a super good game. My team is decent, but I think I'm going to get by butt kicked this week! I have TO but he REALLY SUCKS and I need a flex player and the players I have I just don't trust for that. I have TO, Jonathan Stewart, Roy Williams, or Julius Jones. Moss is on a bye week so that is killing me :) Great job on your work out!! Did you get a chance to get in the gym last night? Me - Well I lost a battle with candy corn last night :( Those are my favorite Halloween candy so I just couldn't go without for a whole year :) So I bought some and last night I sat down with some popcorn and the candy and just kept eating the candy corn.. I had 3 handfuls and big ones at that.. OOPPPSSS :) I was in the gym yesterday and did squats, bench press, bent over row and push up's then ran a half a mile. It was a pretty good workout but I think I could have pushed myself a bit more. I'm still a bit nervous about over training so I'm trying to take it a bit slow to avoid that. |

Tabby - Welcome!! Great job on losing 70 LBS!!!! That is just so HUGE!!! My name is Stefanie. How old are you, how tall are you? How much do you weigh now? It might help with answering your questions. If you are already at a healthy weight, it makes it super hard to lose those last lbs. I ended up on a plateau for 2 months, it was so frustrating. There are several things you can do.. 1) You can change up your workout routine and do something completely new 2) You can do maintenance for a month or so to get your body used to that weight and then drop your calories again to start losing 3) Sometimes zig zagging your calories can help keep your body guessing to. Without knowing the other information, it's kinda hard to give to much specifics. |

I know for me when I started taking them.. totally TMI but my bowel movements slowed down because of the amount of iron. I ended up taking a lot of granola bars (oatmeal and raisin) to help with it. Though I wasn't really all that healthy when I was preggo, I know there are much better ways to get fiber to help that out. I'm not sure if this could cause weigh gain but if you haven't "gone" then maybe? |

Mandy - I'm such a complainer I probably would have started telling people that it was stupid to have such horrible food choices at a gym. I get offering "goodies" but make them better choices!! Zima - HAHA.. on the boob topic, I completely hear you on that taking over your thoughts :) I'm in the process of meeting with doctors to get an idea of what I want and who will do it :) My team is the Seahawks and I love, love them :) BIG FANS :) As for fantasy, I have Randy Moss (which has done okay), Maurice Jones-Drew, Steve Slaton, Jason Witten, I have McNabb and Big Ben but they are both kinda killing me, Those are the bigger names. Me - So funny thing, I probably shouldn't weigh every day but I really like to keep a gauge on things. Monday I was 135 and yesterday, well I was 132.5. I really don't trust that though. I guess just because I can't see losing so much in one day. I figure I was dehydrated or I hadn't eaten as much, or something. I weigh the same time, at the same place with the same clothes every time. It's at my gym, at lunch time (before I eat lunch), with my gym clothes on. I figure I might actually weigh a bit less than I see on the scale because I'm not weighing in the morning but it gives me a baseline. My scale at home (one of those needle ones) says I weigh 127 or 125.. which I find funny :) I SOOOO wish I was at that weight :) Oh and there is new management at my gym and they have hired a bunch of new trainers. I really don't like trainers because half the time they really don't know what they are talking about. However, they manager of the trainers came up to me yesterday and told me that I had a good routine going on and if I was interested I could have a free orientation (they are giving these to everyone in hopes of getting them signed up for training sessions), during that session they will do a cardio test, core test, body fat percentage and a couple of other things. Plus look at my form and offer suggestions. I told him I wasn't interested in training but that all of those things sounded good. So I signed myself up for that orientation. I'm excited to see how I do, it's on Monday. Man I guess I'm chatty Cathy today.. anyone know of a good breaded baked chicken recipe? |

Mandy - I'm sorry about your position that REALLY sucks!! Good luck on looking for a new job and hopefully you will find it soon. Great job on maintaining, at least you have an idea of what you can do to maintain.. I'm concerned about that part of the journey. I've figured out how to lose but not sure how to maintain. Maybe this will help.. I want to hear tomorrow how your workout class was? Does that help for motivation? :) Me - So my "offical" weigh in was 135 so I'm basically back to where I was before the gain.. How do you guys track that, and I mean in your head. I don't see it as a loss but just getting back to where I was. My birthday was fun, we played poker and I won, which is always a nice bonus. Last year I lost and lost badly :) Are any of you guys into football? I have a fantasy football team and I keep getting my butt kicked :) Oh and I went back to working out as my legs seem to be better. I took it a bit easy with how heavy I lifted and did lunges, overhead press, deadlifts, pull ups and prones. and I will get in a mile walk here in a little bit for my work break.
Forgot to add.. Zima - my boobs are hurting!! My TOTM was 2 weeks ago so I have no idea why.. I really don't want any more kids and I have the mirena in so I better not be.. I guess it just concerns me because I sooo don't want anymore... Can you tell me all is good with you!! I NEED REASSURANCE :) |
