Alot of great replies for you! You can skip the gym and machines and just do body wieght exercises only also. When I can't make it, or don't want to go, to the gym I do squats, dips, pullups, and abs in the back yard using the kids swing set. When I can't do a complete dip or pull up, I "cheat" and take some weight off by using my legs. You will know when you need to cheat less or more. If you can't get muscle failure on the first set, then do a circuit and try for another round. Also good info on keeping your routine simple. Use fewer exercises that work more muscles, called compound exercises. Also, I keep only four dumbbells at home, a 10, 15, 25, 35 pounders. Not sets, but just one. Takes a few more minutes, only doing one side of rows or presses, but its cheaper and give a better workout IMHO. Jerry |

I had great results when I did a 3 to 1 ratio of walking to jogging/running. I did 60 seconds to walking at a good pae, then jogged/run for 20 seconds. In about twenty minutes, that was all I wanted! I like HIT weight training also. Less time, more results. About the only thing I don't HIT/HIIT on is my bike. I use it as transportation right now, and want to build up my "sea legs" before I start HITting it. Jerry |

I personally would try for a complete body workout EVERYTIME I went into the gym. Start with youir legs, then back, chest, shoulders, arms, and finish off with abs. Try to use the highest weight possible, as SLOW as posible, with on momental or jerking movment. Do only one set per exerise. This is a basic High Intensity Training workout. I like it because I'm in and out of the gym in less then 30 minutes. And I don't want anymore, if I do it slow and controled! I good routine is found on Drew Baye's website:http://baye.com/basic-guidelines-for-fat-loss /. Dr Ellington Darden is a great mind on the subjet also. My oldest daugther does HIT with me doing her offseason of volleyball and softball. I will really work, if you wath you diet. Hope this helps. Jerry
