I'm 28 and want to lose ............drum roll...........73 pounds. First I want to lose 33 pounds and will be very happy with that! I'm 233 *sigh* and having a lot of trouble because, let's face it, i'm lazy. I try to walk everyday and usually do, at least in the mornings but lately it's been sooooooooo hot that I don't really want to. Aside from that i'm chasing around a one year old all day long and barely have any time to clean the house much less excersise well. Plus i'm still breastfeeding on top of all that, which makes dieting a no-no and forces my excersising to a minimum or i'll lose milk supply. I really would like support though. I really want to be healthy for my family and myself and I want to have more kids. I refuse to until I lose some weight though and I really think this site will help along with support from others like you girls.

Hello, I'd love to join this group! I've got an 11 month old daughter who will be one year old in a week and she's still bf, woo! We'll go as long as she wants. It's hard to lose weight when bf because if you excersise too much or don't eat enough it can really affect milk supply and i've been struggling with this. I try to walk everday for 20 minutes or so (we take a brisk morning stroll) and other than that I have a Wii fit LOL! I know that's not excersise but hey, it gets me moving while my daughter sleeps and it's something quiet I can do, not like the noisy elliptical. I'm 28 years old and I have 33 pounds to go. If I can drop these 33 pounds i'll be VERY happy! |

| Health & Support | BC pills.. should I just stop taking them? | Aug 04 2008 21:29 (UTC) |

I suggest stop taking them immediately if they are having that much of an effect on you. Have you been to an Endocrinologist? I'm no doctor by any means but it sounds like you may have PCOS (Polycystic Ovarian Syndrome). My sister has it but she's the reverse, she gets no periods, or just a few a year, however some people with PCOS can have extremely long periods that last for weeks or months. A couple of other friends of mine also have this. The name sounds scarier than the condition and it's treatable, getting tested for it to rule it out is my suggestion. Since you're not sexually active i'm assuming the bc pills is mostly for trying to control your periods but until you find out what exactly the problem is they won't be of much help and may only harm you by messing with your already delicate hormone imbalance. Good luck! |
