Weight Loss what do you think about body flushes or detoxes? Feb 12 2009

Original Post by acarr:

i have done the master cleanse and a variety of short and mid-length juice a water fasts. the general feeling in the cc community is that detoxes and the like aren't really necessary and it's true that they can be dangerous. while for me fasts, etc have been successful (NOT for weight loss, that's not the point), i would never recommend fasting to someone without first talking to a doctor.

I totally agree with this poster. I don't see anything wrong if its done in mederation once in a while with proper guidance. It may even help with weight loss. But,......its up to you.

Try as earlier suggested, fresh lemon juice(whole) with a cup of hot water first thing in the morning...and try to be religious with it for as long as you can.

I've also discovered recently that sometimes after drinking green tea with/out lemon 1st in the morn takes me toilet.

Its easy....you can also get it online. Its www.exercisetv.tv and also check http://www.exercisetv.tv/whatshot/enviga/ . I make use of the free full length workouts feature and they are effective. If you follow the trainers correctly you'll surely be sored the next day!..... even if its just 20 mins. Those trainers are just full of energy. I personally follow the female trainers like Cindy W, Dove Rose, Terri Ann, stephanie  V, to mention a few but you have lots option.

To make most of it timewise, this is what I do : I mix it up...i.e If I want to workout for say..50 mins, I choose one cardio(e.g 20 mins), another upper or lower body(20 mins), strectch or pilate(10 mins) on diff tabs and then play one after the other. Use the full screen option. So try it if you have enough room for exercise where your PC or laptop is.

Hi,

I agree with the poster Roncos who says you should give Ayurvedic treatment a try at least to solve one of your health problems. I also treated my past bad digestion with aryurvedic medicines. Though bodies react differently, it really worked for me. And had recommended it to a friend who used it and also her family. You'll be surprised that once your digestion is in order, every other thing may go back to normal 'cos the digestive system is like a power house which needs good care and maintenance for better digestion of healthy foods and assimilation of nutrients. Malnutrition is a disaster. So try to take sometime to study, ask more questions about holistic treatment and healing then go for it if you are convinced.

Hope you'll like one of my favorite green smoothie recipes. You can adjust(add/remove) ingredients to your own taste but the basic ingredients are the oat, juice and of course the nutrient dense leafy greens. You can also soak the oat overnight (just enough hot water to cover the oat) to save time next morn. I use either 100% apple juice or white grape juice both as sweetener and liquid to blend. I don't add sugar. Enjoy!

I drink mine just like that with hot water most times with freshly squeezed lemon juice. But i sweeten it once in a while. If you need to sweeten, please go for honey instead of all those artificial sweeteners. Double bonus. Brown sugar too isn't bad. Enjoy!

Health & Support What do you think about Detox...? Nov 02 2008

I will recommend a safe detxification. Its not just for the skin but also for general well being. If you don't move your bowels regularly say at least once everyday, the experts say you should consider yourself constipated. Which actually means the body is not getting rid of the waste matter completely and this can cause putrefaction in the intestines resulting in some digestive problems or IBS like flatulence, acidosis, blaoting to mention a few.. Plus, those feacal matter can even add to one's weight! If you have so much in you. So in my opinion, you can't go wrong if you give your digestive track a good cleansing once in a while and make sure you do a safe detox program/diet. This will rejuvenate your bowels and not weaken them. Will help in good digestion and assimilation of nutrients. You should consult the real experts though. I dont know much.

Try soup with some hot spices( if your taste buds can tolerate it) like sprinkling some cayenne pepper or blak pepper. Dry ginger powder or juice from grated fresh ginger is amazing for sore throats. You can add it to your soup or plain tea. Make sure its hot enough to the level of your tolerance. Give it a try. Wish you quick recovery
