Foods : Recipe tool - advanced features (FAQs)

The recipe ingredients can be manually matched with database items. To do that, the food item from the database needs to be specified in square brackets [ ].

For example, if you wanted to use Del Monte fiesta corn, look up the item as usual and take note of the URL:

http://caloriecount.about.com/calories-del-monte-fiesta-corn-i82647

The number specified before .html is the food ID you'll need to specify in square brackets for the recipe editor. You can enter it as follows in the ingredients:

1 cup corn [82647]

In addition, recipes can be edited after they have been submitted - just look for the little "E" icon on the recipe page for any recipe item you've contributed.
