is CC's calories burned for activities correct?

Quote  |  Reply

are the calories CC says I burn for an activity correct? For instance CC tells me jogging for three minutes in place in 33 calories burned. But then it tells me, that jogging (general) is 29 calories. is that possible? does cc estimate properly?

also, I just got in wii fit plus today, and it measures your calories using the MET calorie thing. It said in three minutes I burned 17 calories( when I pushed myself really hard) and 15 when i didn't.

which is right?

No ideas?

There's no such thing as "right," they are all approximate. Wii numbers are the least reliable. For the CC numbers, make sure your height, weight details etc are correct to begin with (then keep them updated with any changes), because that greatly affects the numbers you get back.

When I am faced with such figures, then:

(1) the figures are similar (e.g. 29 & 33), I always use the lower;

(2) the figures are far apart, I use the average (having checked one or two other sources first in case there is an error in the CC database).
