Celebrate it!
I just realized that our forum doesn't yet have a place to shout-out our accomplishments, so I'm starting this thread. What accomplishment did you acheive today? What major milestone did you reach? What challenge did you overcome?
Share your good news and let us celebrate with you!
I'll start: I met my goal of deadlifting my body weight, plus a little!
Congrats on meeting your deadlifting goal, that's awesome! I look forward to the day when I can deadlift anything close to my bodyweight.
Today I increased weight on squats and seated cable rows. Feeling great about that cuz I didn't think I was ready...
And thanks for starting this thread, it's a great idea. ![]()
Looks like several folks are advancing to the next stage, congrats! Sometimes we just need to celebrate sticking with it :)
I took a few weeks off between Stage 2 and 3 (not really planned but it happened) and started to run!
I have ran 3-3.5K a few times a week while I took the lifting break.
Today I will be starting back up with Stage 3. A little anxious about it but looking forward to starting again and being sore.
My goal today: Stage 3 workout A.
My longterm goal: not to look ahead too much. if i stray from the program to get back on track.
:)
Do you put the bar back on the ground after each rep or just brush/touch the floor? It's just that I wanted to find out what my 1 RM was, and I deadlifted 145 lb, and I'm sure I can add at least 10 more lbs. But when I do a set and try to just "touch", I can't lift more that 110-115 (and that's WITH lowering it down completely between 2-3 reps).
On topic - I turned what was definitely going to be a binge day into a good one. I ate around 1200 kcal before 10 am and couldn't stop. Then distracted myself with cleaning, cooking and eating lunch. Then I went for a 5 mile run, had a very good dinner and finished the day with just 150 kcal surplus. It was a victory of sorts.
Wow - 145 pounds is great! I haven't tried a 1 rep max yet for deads... so I have nothing to compare to. On the 5X5s I did today, I used the 35 pound plates, so 115 pounds total. I brushed the ground, but did not set it completely down. It seemed heavy to me, but it was only 5 reps. I think the 1 RM and the amount you do for reps is completely different, but I would guess 115 should be no problem for you to do reps with.
PS - good going on the eating/running.
I just posted a comparison pic of me in the same bikini to my gallery. March 2nd vs May 26th. So almost 2 months apart..
I have lost 1.5 lbs total (its been a very very slow process but I am happy)
I can see that I look generally "tighter" and that my waist is more defined..
Take a peek and let me know you thoughts!
:)
I tried to post a reply to this last night, but for some reason, CC went kaput right at that moment (?!)
Anyway, good job! Losing in the belly area is so hard!
I would like to celebrate a little. Monday in the gym, one of the trainers told me I made swiss ball crunches with a 25# plate look easy and that I looked good. Today while I was doing a superset of step ups and bulgarian split squats, another trainer approached me, shook my hand, introduced herself and told me she notices I always work really hard and that I look great. She made my day.
Now if I could only nail the nutrition............
Thanks Chels. I'm feeling very good about the workouts. Unfortunately, some one recently said to me "You can't outtrain a bad diet". I'm finding that to be the case. Granted, I am not overweight. But I can't reach my goal of getting ripped if I don't dial down on nutrition. This time of year, with a lot of socializing and travel plans, I find it even more difficult. Oh well, I guess I have to celebrate the victories where I find them and keep trying with the rest.

That is a phrase to live by. I'm going to remember this one!
I'm in the same boat. I am in pretty good shape now after 5 months of this program (you can see my progress pics in my gallery) but want to get kinda ripped too.
I also find it hard when its nice out and there is travel, and lunches on patios etc. I actually find it better to work hard and hibernate in the home gym all winter, then emerge all ripped up in Spring LOL
