How are you celebrating World Vegetarian Day?
On Oct 1, there will be a Vegetarian Day observed by the entire world. Will you do anything special? =]
i didnt know about this!!! but i work with some vegetarians, ( i myself am not one) but im always up for a little fun and supporting others. Maybe ill make a veggie bbq for the girls at work and celebrate together :) we all love animals so it might be fun not eating them for a day.
Had heard nothing about this either...I'll have to come up with something fun!
I'm working but my co worker is a vegan so I'll celebrate with her!
Happy Veggie Day Everyone!!
I'll eat a huge flank steak. Not to be mean but I adamantly disagree with the vegetarian agenda. Humans are omnivores.
If u have nothing nice to say....
I am having a birthday party for my Neice. She is not Vegetarian, but I am glad to just be a part of her birthday and will continue to keep my vegetarian ways :)
I reckon..
That kinda comment just makes me a stronger vegetarian. Woo!
I just replied to that because it came up in the new posts sidebar and almost made me sick. Anyway, enjoy being defensive and resorting to profanity when someone points out how stupid and self-righteous it is.
So ur not a vegetarian, you just entered the forum to be rude....your mother must be so proud :)
So sad I missed it. Wouldn't have planned on doing anything different than usual though.
And no, we will never understand why people feel so threatened by another's lack of meat products. Simply put, it is ignorance.
I am a vegan, but still will make turkey sandwiches for my mom because she is allowing me to live at home for free, currently, and because I do not feel the need to push my beliefs onto other people.
That should go both ways. Unfortuanately, it does not; Aerofire being a prime example.
Now everyone eat your salad just to spite the man.
Bahaha just kidding.
Okay, pardon my ignorance. What are your reasons for a vegan lifestyle?

exactly what was your reason for coming here? you must have a lot of time on your hands if you have nothing better to do than start arguments with veg*ns over the internet :)
You obviously didn't read my explanation above. Following your logic, you have a lot of time on your hands since you are retaliating and clogging bandwidth and server space with a pathetic blog. :)

The OP asked was:

Thanks so much :)
hmmm, you've only been a member since the 17th and the only thread you've posted on is this one... troll much? :)

Honestly, I have no political or religous reasons for my veganism. I've just found that if I remove processed goods and stick to natural, "of the Earth," foods, my body feels purer. Sort of a hypocritical though, because I do still smoke my Marlboro's every now and then. Definitely not "of the Earth."
Also, being vegan has protected me from a lot of really, really bad foods. My mom found a deal at Baskin Robbin's: 3 pints for $12. I happily cannot eat it. Just an example for you.
And another thing, just to help you understand everyone's reactions to your first post: Many vegans/vegetarians lack a sense of humor when it comes to carnivores. And humor, on a diet and lifestyle like ours, thought by many to be so "odd," is crucial.
So don't expect your use of your canines (you know, the teeth made especially for meat tearing) to be welcomed here with a smile.
And just for the record: offending ANYONE is not my aim here.
welllll considering october 1st was my bday.... i went out for dinner! nice big veggie burrito! delicious

Well, I became a Vegan as yet another step to reduce my environmental footprint (Livestock is the number one pollutant, packaging, land for animals, transporting the goods, etc.) It was just a simple step for me. It was easier for me to skip the animal products as it may be easier for someone to turn down the thermestat down a bit more(which, I admit, is something I need to work on).
It is pretty rude for you assume that all vegetarians think they're better than you. I'm sure you have a cause you work toward with as much rigor as I put toward the environment, the reason I started this lifestyle. Investing in your family, a local group/charity, someone's future culd all be as much an achievement as cutting animals out of your diet. It's cool whatever you choose. But, that page you linked to without a single person declaring anything close to "I am God" was angry and mean-spirited. So, stop picking on what is mosty a bunch of teenage girls, Please?
Now, on the whole what did I do to celebrate Vegetarian day thing. Well, I was planning out my extension to my garden I'll be gardening in the Spring. Growing your own food... it savs a lot of energy, no transportation, pesticides, etc. And bought some fresh produce from the local Farmer's Market to make a vegan meal for my family. Celebrating not only Vegetarianism itself, but why I became a Vegan.
Where can I see 1/8th or 1/6th of a pie or angel food cake?
This is the best way to picture a portion of pie or cake: Draw a circle to represent the circumference of the cake or pie (9" pie? 10" cake?... Read more
