Jennifer Love Hewitt "Fat"

So EVERYONE made a big deal when Jennifer Love Hewitt looked like that. They called her fat and big and nasty and told her she needed to lose weight. And now she has.

Now..that is EXACTLY what my body looks like..and when I say "ugh.i'm fat" everyone freaks out and they are like..NO YOU ARENT.

Now my question..are celebrities held to higher weight standards..or do people just hold their tongues around you and let their true opinoion out on celebrities??

I think people generally ARE more critical of celebrities - partially because it makes us feel good to be able to nitpick those that are held up as a standard of beauty.  Celebrities also have the benefits of personal trainers and airbrushing!

Normal women have cellulite.  Normal women are beautiful.  I wouldn't worry about it.

I think as far as being overly critical of celebrities goes, part of why so many feel it's their perogative to do it is that it's their job to look "good" (for many actors and actresses - not all, some actually are talented)  If my livelihood depended on my looks, you better believe I'd be in the gym a couple hours a day.  As is, I don't have the time.

Looking good is of course subject to opinion and the current fad of the day whether it be waifs, hard bodies, hourglass figures or whatever else.

That being said, there's nothing wrong with looking like Jennifer Love Hewitt looks there.  Normal is great!  For the most part, the most beautiful people I've ever seen are normal people, not celebrities.

Edited because I realized it kinda came out wrong.

I agree celebs get nitpicked at for everything they do. One week they will be in the magazines for being to big and told they need to lose weight and then in a few weeks when they have lost that weight the same magazines will tell them they are to skinny and are bad role models and should put on a few pounds. They just cant win either way, magazines and the media are just out to make a story.

I would never call the woman in that picture fat. A little overweight, a little out of shape maybe. Most celebrities are downright SKINNY, so if they looked like that picture, they'd be fat in comparison.

Magazines start each month with yards of empty space they need to fill.  Once they've put in the ads, the photos and features they're running low on ideas so they fill the rest of the mag with gossip, bitchy comments and downright lies. Who's up, who's down, who's fat, who's thin, who's wearing what, who's sleeping where.... yawn...

Real people, on the other hand, don't have a deadline to meet or pages to fill.  They can be nicely honest and diplomatic when honesty wouldn't be appropriate

Of course they are, they are constantly in the spot light.  It is the profession that they chose though.  Do I think Jennifer Love Hewitt is "fat" in that picture...hell no...I think she is normal.  Celebrities are paid to look a certain way and they can afford trainers and special eating and private chefs, etc. etc. etc. It is sad that magazines/media/etc. look at that picture and consider her fat but that is just how the industry works.  In my opinion a lot of celebrities are too skinny!  If you look like Jennifer Love Hewitt then you are in no way fat!

I think with celebrities. they have all that attention someone is going to have something nasty to say. 99 out of 100 wouldnt care that JLH was a but chubby for like a few months.
