celebrity encounters!

has anyone had a personal encounter with a celebrity...this is always fun to talk about!  I used to be an associate at the Hudsons Bay in Vancouver (7 story, high end department store).  Many celebrities shop in our store when they visit, most are really nice, and we always give them the very best of service, including the most senior associates to wait on them. 

All the Canadians will know who I'm talking about:
On New Years I met (and hugged) Kalon Porter our 1st Canadian Idol at a nightclub in Calgary! LOL

Had brunch at a table near Steve Martin a few years ago when visiting NYC.  I wanted so badly to get a really good look at him, but every time I turned to look at him, he was looking at me so I'd look away and pretend that I wasn't trying to oggle him.

I finally did get to oggle him when he got up to leave - he was with a much younger woman too - not Victoria Tenet. 

Now you probably think I'm retarded...  :/

I love Steve Martin. I will always have a special place in my heart for him. :)

EDIT: The only celebrities I've ever met were professional curlers and a young Canadian pop duo who were popular like... 9 years ago, lol!

I worked for a major airline for 8 years, started when I was 18.  I got to see lots of celebrities, but my all time favorite was LL Cool J!!!!  I got a HUG!!!!!  He had on jeans, and a white T shirt, and he was HUGE!!!!  Those big arms, and that big ole chest.  Ohmygosh.......still not over it.

I've seen Paul McCartney at a Mcdonalds in Tucson once.

I worked briefly for a resort in Tucson and met I Dream of Jeanie - heck if I can remember her name now LOL

My daughter's are "aquaintances" of MIchelle Branch - way before she became famous.  I do the billing for her Dr - does that count?  I have also seen Corey Feldman, and that one older actress who's into chanelling - can't remember her name either but she has property in Sedona as well as many other celebs.

Oh and I also shook hands with Yo YO Ma when I was dating a bassist for the Omaha Symphony

I was surprised to learn how many movies and tv shows are filmed in Vancouver.  I visited there a few years ago and now I sometimes recognize scenes on TV, especially those beautiful residential streets with all the trees and gardens.

The only celebrity encounter I ever had was watching some basketball team board a plane.  We had to wait to board our plane until their's left.  Since I'm not a sports fan, I have no idea who they were, just that they were very, very tall.

Cesar Milan- stood in line after one of his seminars- got his autograph and a hug....  Jeremy Newberry- SF 49'er- he's a client- few years ago found out where in Palo Alto Steve Young lived and went by his house a few times- but never saw him.... Joe Montana supposedly boarded his german shepards at the old pet hospital in Palo Alto that I used to work at and Willy Mays- he was a client at the same pet hospital- actually met him- he brought in a bunch of autographed baseballs and gave them to us- I still have my two- gave one to my dad :).   And I would have loved to see Steve Martin.... would love to meet Robin Williams...he supposedly lives in SF which is only an hour away....

after seeing Chicago in London, i saw ashlee simpson. got her autograph and everything. it was a shame she was so snobby, tho, she gave like 2 autographs and left. she barely even smiled.

About 14 years ago I worked in a clothing store in the mall near my house. It's right off the 401 hwy, so alot of the performers scheduled to appear at the London Gardens would end up there to kill some time.

I've met Jann Arden-sold her jeans too! Really nice and funny, an absolute sweetheart to deal with.

I also met Rowdy Roddy Piper-dude was HUGE. Nice guy too, treated everyone on staff politely and was very friendly.

July....I LOVE Kalan Porter's music!  Such a little guy....such a BIG voice!!

I'm an Aero-head, met Steven (more than met ST, haha-any catwalk girl knows what I'm talking about), Joe, Joey, Tom and Brad many times.

In the acting world I most want to meet Bill Murray.

I was waiting at the Calgary Airport this fall and saw Woody Harolson. We didn't get a chance to talk to him as an airline rep wisked him away but still exciting!

I got to talk to Jeff Goldblum on the phone once... at a previous job.

I physically bumped into COOLIO at the DUBLIN AIRPORT of all places!! I met Diana Gabaldon at a book signing but I don't think that counts...she was weird anyway... I think that's it... Oh I took Cuba Gooding Jr.'s dad's (Cuba Gooding Sr. haha) room service order when I worked at a hotel in Niagara Falls.

Lets see if there are any old 80's head bangers that remember KIX. They grew up in Baltimore and would hang out at a bar called Hammerjacks.  I met acouple of them in my big hair days.  I saw Steve (the lead singer) there a few times.

Ah, yes I remember KIX and oddly, Hammerjacks too. Not from my own experience, but my older sister's.
