Cellulite on bottom and thighs!

Quote  |  Reply

I'm a 17 (2 months off 18) 5'4 year old female at 131lb, I'm on a diet of 1373 calories per day and I am aiming to weigh 120lb. My mother has been going through a rough patch the past few years and my diet has suffered because our family kept having take aways and I started eating more chocolate stuff than I used to.

I am a pear shape so I carry most of my weight around my thighs and my bum and have quite small boobs.

I just wanted to know how I can firm up my bottom and thighs and get rid of my cellulite which I've had for years. I don't feel sexy when I look at myself in the mirror, because I always see girls with nice smooth bottoms.

My cellulite is not chronic, and I don't have any dimples - it's just the fact that it's not completely smooth.

anyone on this board will tell you, so allow me to do it first so it's done nicely :)

1300 calories a day is not enough for anyone under 21. according tohttp://www.bcm.edu/cnrc/bodycomp/bmiz2.html if you are at low activity, you would maintain your weight on 2090. aim for at least 1600 a day... you are not overweight (you're at the 68th percentile if you were wondering. at 120 you would be at the 48th percentile... a really good weight) so you shouldn't be losing too fast... one lb a week would definitely be enough :)

Ok - I suppose I'll have to up my calorie intake! I don't want to be unhealthy - it's just what this website told me to do.

I don't want to loose drastic weight and 1lb a week would be plenty enough. The only reason I've chosen 120lb is because I use to be this weight and it was just a rough estimate. I'll loose weight until I am comfortable with my shape in the mirror - I have a good ideal of what is sexy, and I don't believe any of the crap they put in magazines of overly photoshoped models.

I just look a bit weird at the moment because my thighs and my bottom have ballooned.

yeah, this site told me to do other things too but you see, the calculators aren't correct for under 21s. for one thing, we burn more just lying in bed b/c our bodies are forming... secondly, you don't want to stunt your growth or anything bad like that. your brain is still forming at this point.

1 lb a week would be a 500 calorie deficit - about 1600 calories a day should do it for you! i know exactly how you feel, my thighs are huge while the rest of me is small. that's why i'm doing this too, good luck to you! though i'm sure you are already sexy, as 131 isn't overweight at all, just perhaps not the complete ideal - actually 120 at 5'4" is considered ideal... so go for it!

cellulite is diet and excersize, and quality of food. you can control your cal, but if it is 1600 calories of junk food you will still have cellulite. have you seen skinny people with cellulite i have. if you start an excersize program, and a healthy diet then it should go away, eat whole unprocessed foods. another thing,,, you can still have sweets just not every day, good luck~erica

Eek, be careful with losing weight until your comfortable with what you see in the mirror. This is where a lot of people go wrong, myself included. Be able to step outside yourself and see what you really look like, not what the mirror tells you. Losing weight healthily and slowly helps with this however =)

I eat healthily and I don't like sweets - I just tended to grab the first thing in the cupboards but I now restrict snacking to fruit and only eat good meals that will give me the right amount of goodness.

As for the whole mirror theory - I have a very caring boyfriend (one of a kind!) who I've been friends with for 7 years and been together for 2 and a half years. He hates the skinny look and likes girls to be curvy, so therefore if I did reach an extreme he would point me in the right direction. Me and him have both started hitting the gym at his workplace and we swim often as well as taking long walks in the country. I'm living with my parents at the moment until my college course is over, and I believe when I move to his place I will take on a very healthy lifestyle.

I'm not entirely bothered about loosing 'weight' - I just want my body to look healthy.

Thanks for the advice guys!

Squats! Lunges! Work on building muscle in your bum bum, quads, and hamstrings. I have noticed a big difference in my cottage cheese thighs since I started weight training. Good luck!

I know the feeling :(

I read somewhere on CalorieCount a while back, that if you work out...the cellulite will come off as a result...maybe slowly but it will eventually...the more you tone up...jogging is great for toning up your buttom and thighs...I am taking it up at the gym.

Good luck :)

P.s. I am the same height as you and almost the same weight...127 pounds...my first mini-goal is to go back to 123 pounds like I was a while back...and my main goal is 118 pounds around next christmas...we are close...here is a thread..a little group of nice women who motivate me..if you like:
