Cellulite.......

Quote  |  Reply

Not sure if this is where to post this question but.......Just wondering  if anyone else  has  had a problem with cellulite?

All of the sudden is seems that I have developed cottage cheese legs over the last few years..... it has creped from my upper thigh slowly to my knees.  My lifestyle has been anything but "clean" and now that I'm becoming active I'm  wondering if it can be changed?

I'm thinking clean eating along with weight training to improve muscle tone and cardio should eventually lessen the effect (although I'm sure I'll never completely get rid of it).

Anybody else have any thoughts or experience?????

Yeah, I believe the cellulite is created by the fat cells. So shrinking those cells is the only way to get rid of it or make it less.

If you drink coffee.... use the used grounds with a little EVOO (olive oil says Rachael Ray ha ha) and use it as a scrub on cellulite.  The caffeine is supposed to help.  At least that's what I read.  Even if it doesn't work well... your legs feel soft and exfoliated afterwards~

I managed to get rid of some of the cellulite by exercise and eating healthy. Also masagge (at home) with cellulite cream (don't know if the cream or the masagge helped). And the idea with the coffee is good, the main ingredient in cellulite creams is cofein, so it's ok. Also I understood that sparkling beverages are bad, but I can't give them up as I can't drink a lot of water and can't find a beverage that is light and not sparkling...

Have you tried body brushing??  I have found it to be good, especially on my thighs!!  Here is a link:

Hope this helps

The thing that has helped my cellulite to be reduced the most is running.  Doing slow, long runs really helps tone my legs and I have noticed a HUGE difference in the appearance of my legs.

Thank you all sooo much!!!!!  It appears there will be a light at the end of the tunnel.  Of course I feel it is my pentance for being a yo-yo dieter for so many years.....I'm very optimictic that this time I will stick with it.....not getting any younger LOL!

I agree with melwright10.....I used to have the most disgusting cottage cheese thighs ever!!

I've been running for nearly 2 years now, and have noticed a huge improvement - barely any cellulite on my thighs and butt anymore.

I'm skeptical about creams and rubs (to be honest, I've never actually tried any).....at the end of the day, cellulite is fat and I have some doubts about how rubbing creams and gels on your "fat" areas would eliminate the fat...at least not permanently.

I'm so glad I found this forum!  I, too, have terrible cottage cheese thighs.  I have been running for about a month now and have noticed a slight difference already.  It's good to know that if I continue, it will be even better!

I have tried several of the cellulite creams, but none seem to work.  I have noticed that caffeine is the main ingredient, so making a rub out of olive oil and used coffee grounds makes sense to me.  (thanks for the info coppertop_4)

As far as the body brushing...that sounds intresting.  Does it really work?

I too have a cellulite problem.  It really bothers me!  I've just started jogging so hopefully I will see some results soon.  I look fine from the front, but when I turn around all you see is lumps.  Really gross.  I wonder how long before I see some results.  Right now I can only run about a mile, I hope to get that up to 3 or 4 miles.  Good luck to everyone! Too bad theres no magic pill to get rid of it!!!

I wish three were a magic pill to get rid of it!!  lol  I think if we keep this forum going, and give each other tips, tricks and motivation...we can be closer and close to cellulite free!!

Unlike "amy4302", I have cellulite on the front of my thighs as well as the back of the thighs and buttocks.  Although I've been plagued by this for years, it's still terribly embarrassing, as it has gotten worse over the last year.  I don't even wear shorts anymore.  If you see me in the middle of summer, unless I have to be outside for a long period of time, I will be in jeans or capri's.

Going on a cruise in 2 weeks!  I'm SO excited, but not in the mood to wear a bathing suit!  I've been working hard to get the cellulite to "ease up" a bit so I won't be as embarrassed.  it's not like anyone there will ever see me again anyway, but this will be the first year in about 9 years that I won't be wearing a bikini because of my weight gain and cellulite.  Cry

"runningbellydancer" go on that cruise and have a blast.  Don't let weight gain stop you from having fun.  I know how you feel about not wanting to wear shorts out in public.  All my friends are stick thin and have NO cellulite at all...lucky!!  I have to say that I'm a little jealous of them.  One girl walks 4-5 miles a day.  BUT.....she doesnt work and her children go to daycare so she has tons of time to walk and work out.  I'm lucky to squeeze in my jogs after my baby goes to sleep, (my hubby is at home with her, no, I don't leave her there alone!)  I drink about 3-4 diet cokes a day, so I'm gonna try to also cut down on that.  I know there's no way I can cut them out all together.  Maybe one in the morning and one at dinner.  I don't drink coffee so I need a little boost in the morning.  If anyone has any tips please let us know.  And, if someone has a time frame on how long it takes to see some results from jogging please let me know.  I'm so impatient!!
