Cereal better than Fiber One?

Quote  |  Reply

So, I have been LOVING my Special K (almost every flavor) but decided to try Fiber One Honey Clusters since I hear everyone rave about it.  Well, I am eating it now and think it's kind of gross.

I used to like Kashi heart to heart and liked it more than this yucky stuff.

Is there something else with the benefits that actually tastes good?

(I also have tried the other flavors and don't like it).  Thanks!!

i LOVE trader joe's fiber fruit and nut medley cereal... 90 cals per serving, and TONS of fiber. and the grapes/cranberries in the cereal are SO big and yummy!

sugarplum87 it sounds great!  how big is a 90 cal serving?
So the sad thing about Special K is the High Fructose Corn Syrup they pack into. And the bummer thing about FiberOne is the Aspartame they choose to add.

My top two cereals would have to be

1) Hi-Lo Low Carb Cereal. THIS stuff is amazing... In 1/2 cup this cereal is packed with 12 grams of protein, 6 grams of fiber, 13 carbs, 3 grams of sugar and only 90 calories!

2) Kashi GoLean, because of its fiber/protein contents AND the whole grain serving

I know people don't consider it a 'cereal' but have you tried plain oats? Mix fruit or something in it to keep it from tasting like wallpaper paste, but it has all the good things that processed cereals add, but with less sugar.

Also, what about GrapeNuts? If you put them in milk and warm them up, they are not so hard and taste realy good.

Fiber One cereal tastes good but will leave you hungry for two reasons: 1) the calorie content is so low that it really doesn't provide enough energy to fuel your day 2) the cereal is sweet because it contains the same chemical as Diet Coke--aspartame.  Here is an interesting article I found on the aspartame in Fiber One cereal.  I was shocked to find out that what I thought was a healthy start to the day was really packed with cancer causing chemicals.  Yuck!  Fiber One I threw you away!

I used to eat FiberOne bars for the fiber, but they had too many preservatives and artifical ingredients for me.  Now I swear by Kahi GoLean cereal!  A few different tastes and textures all in the same box!

try mixing the vanilla almond Special K with the Fiber One honey clusters, it will sweeten it up and you still get in your fiber
