I have been doing P90X and X+ for over a year.  I really want to get Chalean Extreme next just to have more videos to mix around.  You'll have to let me know how it goes.  Good luck!

I didn't know it had been released!!!  AAAHH!  I'm going to order it RIGHT NOW!!!  I'm glad you're enjoying it so far :)

ETA:  Just ordered it and 7 new turbo jam DVDs with the last of my Christmas gift money.  Can't wait for it to get here!

Second edit:  Also, can you give me any hints about what kind/how heavy of weights I need just starting out?  Eventually I would like to buy a really nice set of adjustable dumbbells, but I don't have that kind of money right now (especially after buying the DVD set!).  Could I get by with just some 10-15 pound handweights?

Oooh that is fun that you got some new TJ videos too.  I heart Turbo Jam.  Chalene is the best!

OK so for weights....I had the same issue as you.  I wanted some awesome adjustable ones but they are at least a few hundred bucks and that is just too much.  So, what I did was make my own little "adjustable" set from Dicks.  You can buy a dumbbell bar that comes with little anchors for each side that screw off.  Then they have a bunch of "donut" weights in all different weight amounts.  They have a little kit too that comes with the bar and 4 5lb weights and 4 3lb ones.  I did the first video with those and a pair of 8 lb dumbbells I had from Turbo.  I found that I needed some more variation so I went and got 4 2.5lb donuts so I can vary them.  they aren't as quick of a change between each exercise as the dumbbells are however it really doesn't take more than a minute to adjust and TRUST ME, you'll appreciate a little rest for your arms/legs.

I pretty much am ranging between 8 and 16 lbs now.  I am not a very strong girl but you really can lift more than you think you can when the point is to be at failure at rep 10, 11, or 12.

I have finished 3 days of the program so far and I am so so so sore, but in a good way.  The workouts fly by but are definitely hard.  I feel shaky for almost an hour after they are done, but also, in a good way.

You will LOVE IT!!

I am starting it today!! I also started the recommended diet plan and so far have been impressed by all the fresh veggies and non-processed food that I will be eating. I took pictures, measured myself and the whole 9 yards so we will see what I look like in 90 days....  Smile

I'm starting it Monday :)

Awesome!! I just started the Push phase this week. It's a lot more challenging but the results are worth it!

What are the workouts like?  I am trying to decide between this and P90X cause I need a new challenge and something that I can do at home to fit into my schedule.

It's 3 days of lifting heavy weights and 2 days of cardio. There are also 2 intense ab routines that you add to the cardio days. What I like about the program is you don't have to invest in the weights if you don't want to. They show you how to modify the workouts using resistance bands and lifting the weights very slowly. I invested in the adjustable weights and so far the investment has paid off. I haven't gotten bored of the program yet. I don't think the program is extreme as P90X, but I also haven't done P90X so I can't give you a fair comparison.

The concept is that lifting heavy weights builds muscle and burns fat. I was skeptical because I'm a girl and didn't want to bulk up. But I can tell you that I am lifting heavier weights than I ever have. I've gone down in inches all over and I started out this program as very fit person. I didn't have a lot of weight to lose (if any) but the results I've seen in the first 30 days are really encouraging. I haven't bulked up at all and am getting very nice muscle definition in my arms, abs, back, and legs.

So it's not bulking up your thighs or anything at all?  My goal is to get some definition in my legs but not build too much muscle because I already have and none of my jeans fit anymore! :(

I've been taking measurements every two weeks and I've gone down in inches. My legs have been slower to get defined, but I thinks it's because I have more fat to burn in that area. I can tell you though that my thighs have not gone up in inches.

Thanks!  I like doing weights I just really want to avoid bulking up my thighs.  I hope this program will work for me too!

I just ordred my ChaLean extreme and it came in the mail today! My weights should come by Monday - i'm so excited!

Hey all...I started March 8th. I have done burn circuit 1 & 2 and did burn intervals with extreme abs today. I also followed burn 2 with ab burner. I love it so much already! I love how hard I work and all the sweat too. Smile

Feeling muscle fatigue is great...although tough when you arent quite to the end of the total workout. In the bowler squats I had to stabilize myself due to my shaky Hamstrings. LoL!

I am not following the eating plan although I really should. Is anyone else? I am just trying to stay low fat and low carb...doesnt always work out that way. hee hee

If you're a female YOU CAN NOT BULK UP. Read the Pink Dumbbell sticky. I squat 135 lbs and deadlift almost 200 and there is no bulk on me (other than fat but that's a different story)

Okay, anyone want to update the thread with their results? I'm sooo curious to see how much weight/inches everyone has lost!

I would love that as well.  I just started week 2 of the burn circuit yesterday so not so much of any results yet.

Ill keep it posted!

Hi everyone! I am new to the site/forum, but I was doing a little homework on the ChaLEAN extreme videos, which I ordered the other day. I cannot WAIT to start. Right now, I do a cardio kickboxing class a few times a week, but I'm really looking to lose about 20 pounds total. I hope this will do the trick...let's keep each other motivated! I'd also love to see progress photos if anyone has them. Thanks!

I started week 3 of burn phase. Its pretty intense but I love it! I always feel like I have worked really hard. I started doing burn it off before cardio this week. (well I only started yesterday and today) but will continue with that because not only do I need to be strong but lose inches...lbs would be nice as well. I am working hard to stay within my calorie range but this is where I find I have the most difficult. Anyone else???

This week has been way better. I remeasure and weigh in on April 6th so we will see.

keep pushing play!

I love love love this workout.  I started it on January 9th, I am in my third week of the Lean Phase.  I tell you I have seen some dramatic results in my muscle definition.  I have not had much on the scale though and that is a little depressing, but I recently went back to writing everything I eat down and watching closer on my calories, I think I just "thought" I was eating good.  The only thing is I will not do my measurements until about a week after I am complete with the Lean Phase, because TOM visits on the last week of every phase!!!

If you don't have this workout yet and want to really get to working out, I say buy this one.  I do this workout at 0415 in the morning and then do a cardio workout at least 5 times a week after work.

Hi again, everyone! I just bought my weights and received my DVDs in the mail yesterday. I'm planning on doing them tonight after work. Quick question: are we supposed to combine separate cardio workouts with this program, or are the DVDs all we need to get those fabulous results?

Thanks!
