I believe you can just do the video's, I added extra cardio because I lose weight better with cardio and though I am seeing great results from ChaLean, I was not losing the weight I wanted to and instead gaining muscle and definition.  I am also lucky though because I work on a Marine Corps base and there are gyms all over the place that are free, so I hit one on my way home each day to do my cardio.

Where can I buy this? Is it only available online? Kinda pricey but from your reviews seems very worth it.

mlilly, yes online is the only place you can purchase the set.  It is put out by beachbody.  I don't remember what I paid for it, I remember it was not cheap, but it has been worth every penny I spent on it.

You can get it used from Amazon retailers. I buy stuff used from Amazon all the time. I save so much $$$$

I started the program yesterday and it was pretty intense! Do you guys stick to the rest days religiously, or do you just take any 2 random days off? Has anyone ever done the drills consecutively and not taken any days off? I am by no means saying this will be my case, but just wondering.

needtoworkitout - I've worked past quite a couple of days of "off days" without taking a break before. It's alright, I listen to my body so I know when to take a day off.  I've also taken a day off on one of the days where I was too busy to do it. (Random mall adventure. Who wants to come home after walking around in a mall with friends for two hours and do interval training?) I've also done Burn It Off/Fat Burning Challenge and Burn Interval/Get Lean Intervals on my rest days for some extra work in that week.

I basically stick to the calendar as a good guideline, but I don't mind throwing in some bonus challenges during the week. :D

 

Question for you guys: I'm about to hit Lean phase, and quite frankly, I'm disappointed with my abs. I don't feel like I'm working them enough. Does anyone else feel the same when they follow the advice given on the calendar? I was thinking of adding Extreme Abs to my burn circuits, and stop doing them on Interval days... Bad idea/good idea?

You know I am only on week 3 of burn. I also feel like I need to work my abs more and wondered the same...should I do ab burner or extreme abs everyday after my "scheduled" workout? I dont want to get to the lean phase and be disappointed with my flabby belly.

Are you all following the eating plan? I should...I stay in my calories but dont always eat the best.

 

Needtoworkitout:  I stick to the schedule but on the days off I sometimes go to the gym to do cardio.

 

Kaybug:  I agree with the abs, but I will tell you that I do the TurboJam Abs 3 or 4 times a week before I go to bed.  I have seen a difference with that.  But the Lean Circuit really works the core too.

I don't follow Chalean's eating plan, though I do cook some of her recipes, I do try to stick with the Beachbody Micah's ladder on my food choices though.

 

I think you should have no problems doing one of the ab workouts every other day if you want, that is pretty much what I do with my ab workout.

makinitcount44 - Try ab burner first. If it seems easy, go onwards to extreme abs. Just a warning, extreme abs is extremely tough. I was okay doing P90x's Ab Ripper X, but extreme abs just kills me everytime.

I don't make it more complicated then it needs to be. Calories in vs calories out for me! I personally haven't even looked at the eating plan, and I just basically eat healthy 80% of the time, and give myself room to indulge a little so I can maintain a healthy eating pattern instead of restricting myself and binging on foods I told myself I wouldn't eat. :D So far so good!

kenari - I'm gonna switching between Ab Jam and Extreme Abs for two weeks and see how that goes. I absolutely HATE doing extreme abs. So, so tough.. But Ab Burner is too easy. >____< I hope maybe Ab Jam will be that "in between" spot of the two.

 

Just a fun question for y'all: Does anyone actually remember to keep your abs tight while bending forward? XD I really don't remember, but I generally don't let myself just hang out in a bloated couch potato at all times while I'm doing the exercises either...

I have gotten so much better at keeping my back flat since I started Chalean Extreme, I swear...

I started push phase today. I really need to go heavier next time. I worked hard but couldve been tougher for sure. after the 1st 30 days I didnt change in weight and only lost around 2.5''...thighs measured bigger then day 1. Anyone else see this? I mean dont get me wrong they are less jiggly. Laughing

I didnt work at the eating as best as I could have until week 4 and plan on keeping it up. I dont restrict myself either but want to stay within calories.

And kaybug---I am gettting better with keeping my abs in but constantly have to remember to and even then it doesnt "look" like I am engaging them. hee hee! Maybe soon itll be different.

I just started yesterday. I need to invest in some heavier weights, that's for sure. I love her attitude & motivational techniques.

I haven't taken any pictures yet because I'm embarrassed to ask anyone to take them.  I think I really need to, though. Progress is great motivation!

I just looked at your profile and we are VERY simular in stats, except I am a few years older and 5 pounds heavier.    I love this routine too, and if you can afford to buy heavier weights, you really should I really saw a difference when I pushed myself to the limit.  If you can't afford the weights right now, the bands are relatively inexpensive and they work very very well too.

Hope you are doing well, I will be watching your progress I haven't really found anyone with my stats on this site until I pulled your profile up.  I am now more motivated.  I find it hard sometimes when it feels like I am the only one, even though I know I am not.

Does anyone just do the 3 strength DVDs and swap out the burn intervals discs with other cardio activity? I take a cardio class 2x a week and really don't have time to do all of the discs. Just wondering your thoughts.

Also, how many of you are following her food program? I am not, but am working to "eat clean", as they say :)

needtoworkitout: I'm doing the same thing. I don't really love the cardio in the program but I love Turbo Jam so I do that on my cardio days and sometimes after a burn circuit dvd. And I am a picky eater so the food guide wasn't for me but I'm doing my best to watch cals, protein, fiber, sugar, etc.

I'm just finishing week 3. I have 6 more weeks until I go to Mexico!!

Hi all~

I am on week 8, week 3 of push. I am working on better eating...It seems like it is always what I am doing.

Today has been really good in that department. I am determined to work really hard and start seeing all my hard work in the exercise dept. to be worth it!

 

I just finished week 4! It actually took me 5 weeks to do it because of a back injury (not exercise related!), but I didn't quit.

I took my measurements this morning & have lost 2" off my waist, 1" off each thigh, and 1" off my hips! My weight hasn't really changed too much because I haven't been the greatest about keeping to a healthy carb, high protein diet. I'm very pleased with the results so far & can't wait to start the push phase. I still haven't invested in heavier weights yet. I live in a very rural area & don't want to pay shipping so will have to wait until a city trip.

I'm so pleased with my progress and my tenacity! I really do look forward to hanging out with Chalene @ 5 am & feel guilty when I don't. What a great change!
