I’ve got about 50 lbs to lose, but I really need to break it up a little. I was thinking about doing a 50 lb challenge, but I didn’t want to shut out losers who have less to lose! So I thought that a 25-to-lose group would be a happy medium. I’m looking to start a support and accountability group whose main goal is to lose 25 pounds by the end of June. That’s about 1.5 lbs a week, which I think is very doable. I’m looking for folks who are losing with healthy diet and exercise, any plan is fine, but no “cabbage soup” fad diet nonsense, no pills, etc. Just healthy lifestyle changes.

Goal: To lose 25 pounds by June 30th.

Motto: Who dares, wins!

Members: Anyone with 25 or more pounds to lose.

Post: Daily if possible. Post goals, daily food and exercise stats, problems, anything related to your weight loss journey. Post tips, articles, stories, anything helpful or motivating. Post recipes and exercise routines too, if you want.

If you’re in, do an introductory post, and here’s mine!

I’m Pook. I’m a 43 year old woman who lives in Louisville KY. I’m 5’ 7”. I started at 230 lbs, and I’m presently 199. My plan is to eat healthy food, lower fat, higher fiber, and daily exercise. I mostly walk, but I also enjoy yoga, water aerobics, weights, bike riding and dancing. A year ago, I got down to 175, but then I got stupid and went back up to 205. I’m back down to 199, and determined to make up lost ground.

Hey guys!

Sarah: I'm back down too.  I think we've both learned our lesson, haha.

Ali:  you clearly already have the commitment factor in your favor, and if WW will give you the extra boost you need, go for it!  Just keep in mind that either way, you will still have to be strong with your boyfriend.  I know they mean well, but sometimes the closest people in our lives can do the most damage to our weight loss goals.  Maybe try having a conversation with him specificaly regarding your goals, and let him know that when you say no to food, you mean it, and he needs to honor it even if he doesn't understand it.  I think we will always struggle with this though...  my husband made me eat a small piece of chocolate yesterday after I told him no 5 times...  haha  (Perhaps I need to have the same conversation with my hubby...)

Pook:  glad to see you back!  Sounds like most of us had a rough week.  Great to hear you maintained!  Lets get back on track this week together!!

Me...  Due to some strange monsoon-esque weather we had here, we cancelled our plans to go out of town.  I managed to work in two long walks this weekend.  Friday night for an hour and Sunday for 1.5 hours with a little jogging.  I should have went to the gym, but the weather was too irresistable for me to be trapped indoors.  Good to switch it up anyway, and I probably need to take advantage of it while I can.  Summers here are mostly too hot to exercise outdoors.

I ate relatively well, sushi and churrascaria (meat) on saturday and fish yesterday.  Yesterday was back down to levels before Easter.  I'm anxious to see where this week will take me; determined to get back to the gym!  Good luck all!!

Ana- Good job on the loss!  Good goals too.  I am trying to buckle down and use my weights more regularly, every other day instead of once in a blue moon!  And more veggies and better self image are both ongoing goals of mine.

Sarah- Yay for getting back down from Easter!

Ekai- sounds like you are doing great!

Me- doing fine.  Got my exercise back up to a decent level.  Working on keeping my calories down.  We had yet another cold rainy day yesterday, but it’s supposed to brighten up soon.  I had good news on the scale this morning, let’s hope it sticks around for weigh in tomorrow!

ekai: agreed, lesson learned! Let's just hope I remember the lessons teachings this weekend! haha Sorry your trip got cancelled, but good for you to get in a nice outdoorsy workout!

pook: Hope the weather gets nice for you! At the moment the weather here isn't nice but it's good enough for a walk!

Good luck everybody!

hi Sarah!  I've been really busy, and am about to go away for the weekend, so I'm going to be MIA for a while longer.  Just peaking in to reply!

The scale has been good to me the past few days, so hopefully it will continue while I'm away again, and I will come back and see a beautiful number!

Sarah - I'm totally into starting C25K again.  I'm planning to get back into the routine on Monday when I return.  I'm also really excited, because I got a gift certificate from a family member to my old, really really really expensive yoga studio.  So I'm going to get one unlimited month there.  Which means I will go EVERY DAY.  I love it there so much.  I'm going to wait to activate it until mid may, because I have a pretty calm schedule then.  But then I'm gonna kick butt!

Have a good weekend everyone!

fly: wow an unlimited month! Take super advantage! enjoy the weekend! I'll start C25K back up on monday as well then. I know were not on the same week but it'd still be cool to have a buddy!

Weekly report, I managed to weigh in at 229 this am so that is encouraging to me, I had a bad weekend eating out but I can't see paying $13.00 for al buffet lunch and not getting my money's worth, If I had my way I would not go to those places but the family all enjoys it so I go along. I have created a weight log at my home site so I can see the progress, check it out if you wish. I try to keep under by 50-100 calories most days to make up for the overeating when I go out. So far the past two months I have managed to be just under the 1650 per day average intake,  If I can lose a lb. per week I will meet my CC goal by late next year.

Roger: congrast on the loss even though you had a bad weekend! Good job!!!

~Sarah

Sarah- Yay for the 145!  130's here you come!

Fly- Have a great weekend away!  Unlimited yoga for a month totally rocks!

Roger- congrats on the loss!  Buffets can be totally doable if you go at it the right way.  I know you want to get your money's worth, but you can do that without thinking of it in terms of food quantity.  If you enjoy the time spent with family, and the food regardless of quantity, then it's money well spent.  My tips for buffets- take advantage of the salad bar, no fried food, and quit when full, never overeat just to get your money's worth.  Overeating leads to poor health and doctor bills, so that's no way to get value for your dollar.

We had a pitch in at work Thursday, and I didn't do as well as I could have, but I didn't overeat, and my scale tells me I haven't mucked it up too badly.  TOM started today, so it's little wonder I had trouble at the pitch in.  I always get hungry and slug like right before TOM.  Today, I started some work in my container garden on the back porch.  I need to go buy some plants soon, but I got all the seeds planted.  It's a beautiful day, so I'm headed out for a nice long walk this afternoon.  Have a great weekend everyone!

Hey everyone!  sorry to be missing, but I've had to help out with my father lately.  The time and drive back and forth (4 hours) is getting to be too much and can't keep that up and still manage my family here, so it's been decided that he will move in with us while recovering.  Hopefully all will settle into a routine during the next week or two.

Don't know when I can catch up with messages, pm's, etc. but I am keeping on track with my weight loss and keeping that posted when I can get to a pc.  I'm down to 179 now, really close to my half-way goal (which also happens to be what I weighed 5 years ago).

Roger, you are doing so well, keep it up and stay strong.  I've been to a buffet a couple of times and agree with Pooks suggestions, plus I also take just spoonfuls of several items because I really love getting to taste a variety of flavors.  If you are mindful of portion sizes you should be just fine and enjoy those family dinners.

Weigh In! 126.6

SW: 137

GW: 112

Been doing pretty well, still working on getting more veggies in!

pook: sounds like you had a lovely weekend!

mia: you'll get those 5 lbs gone asap!!

banana: good job on the loss! Oh and you didn't complete the week 1 challenge on the biggest schmoozer group! Go on and tell them your motivation!!

Me: Trying to stay focused, my cruise is in 19 days and I can't mess this up!

~Sarah

Hi there!

I am 37 and 172 pounds. I have been walking everyday 3 to 4 miles and limiting my cals to 1450 a day! Anything less than that make me VERY GRUMPY! I started on April 3rd and as of today NO REAL WEIGHT LOSS??? I think I see some inches coming off though. I am sooooo fustrated. Any tips? Ideas...motivators?? I would love to drop 10 pounds by mid- may is that possible??

tomtom614,

Don't know if 10 lbs my the middle of May is possible or not, I have been with cc since Feb 22, have lost 21 lbs. since the first of the year. Don't give up, a lb. per week is not impossible, I have done that. Keep recording your CC and recording your weight and exercise, It should come off at 1450 calories per day.

Roger from Western NY.

Hello! Where is everyone! Hope all is well
