I'm posting this here and not in the challenges forum because it isn't a challenge. I've hit a bit of a slump lately, and I need something new to motivate me. I find that sometimes when I participate in a challenge, it isn't the seeing how much weight loss I can get before a deadline that motivates me, it's the weight I see myself lose from week to week. So, I propose a chart that just shows your weight. That's it. No goals, no competition, just motivation. So here I start. Anyone can feel free to join me, I plan on editing my original post every week to add my new weight. If anyone wants to join, I suggest choosing any day that best works for you.
UPDATE: Hey all! I know i have been kind of slacking on my diet and I haven't been around much, but I'm back with a vengeance, and I hope everyone else is, too.
I really don't care if you edit your posts or not anymore, you can create a new post if you want to record your weight loss. I'm done being strict about it because I haven't been around lol. SO~ let's just see how we're doing.

Because sometimes if you get on the scale a lot it's easy to seem like nothing is happening, until you compare it to last week's and it's like WOW! I did better than I thought. You know?

Hey Gela! I'd love to do the non-challenge! I think I'll update on Fridays, but that might change. By the way, I think that just editing our own posts is a GREAT idea because the challenges can get so confusing with a BILLION posts every day!
I also like that we can all have different weights. Sometimes if I try to do a challenge with people my own weight I feel like I have to keep up with them and feel discouraged when I haven't lost as much as them.

Im 40 yrs old, 5'3 and started at 188lbs on May 22,09.
Ive only lost 4lbs so far.
Im gonna post my weigh ins on Mondays if thats ok cause thats when I weigh.

My 2nd weigh-in was today. I gained 0.8 pounds from last week, but surprisingly I'm pretty happy about it considering the fact that I've been at 181 this week. Blegh. So at least it's going down. I don't really know why my weight has been going up. I had 2 bad days but I've been right back on track since then. Hopefully some better results next week. I'm still in it!

Gela - Only .8 pounds. You could have lost that a couple hours later and not known it! No biggie. I'm sure you'll be fine this week. It's amazing how a couple bad days can be such killers sometimes though.

Yeah, I'm not really stressing about it. You know that one day when I went down to 179 and thought my plateau had broken? Well, it hadn't. So I'm just happy to be in the 170s still! Plus I got a better weight today. Much better. Hopefully it will stick around for next week~!

Gela, have you tried calorie cycling? I had plateaued for about 2 months and decided to give it a try, though it sounded like diet voodoo. I started losing weight and have lost 6 lbs now in about 3 weeks. I'll get you a link to a calculator if you're interested.

Calorie cycling is where you have an average calorie intake, but it varies from day-to day-sometimes up, sometimes down. It's supposed to boost your metabolism by not letting it set at a single point. Here's an example of calorie intake averaging 1400 for a week: 1200-1400-1500-1600-1200-1300-1600
Anyway, it worked for me. :)

tomatotomata~ Oh my gosh, my mom was just telling me about this. She also recommended exercising within an hour of eating because it's supposed to help boost your metabolism AND she said that after you do it you burn more calories just doing ordinary things for about an hour after you exercise. Awesome!!
I think I will try these tricks, even though I finally lost some weight today! Can't wait to log again on Friday~ I hope this weight sticks. Especially since I had a bad diet day today.....My sister made me shrimp scampi....Mmm......

msaidafall - Hi!! I'm glad you joined. It sounds like a simple thing, just posting weights, but it's really been helping me a lot.
tomatotomata - That's an interesting idea. I might have to try that. I makes complete sense because what really matters anyway is that at the end of the week you have a certain amount of calories/average, not that every day is a certain amount. If that makes sense. Haha.
See, this is why I love this non-challenge so much... I have been a little discouraged the last couple days because I haven't been eating that great so my weight hasn't been changing, probably going up a bit actually, but then I look at all your posts and I realize that I lost a pound from Tuesday to Friday, so I don't feel bad about the last couple days anymore! I mean, yes, I knew that I lost a pound, but I didn't really think about it that way until it was brought up here. If that makes sense? I'm having a hard time saying what I want to say today! Anyway, it helped! So thanks you guys, and I look forward to seeing all of our progress!

I know this sounds strange, but I started working out last week around Thursday and this morning when I was getting ready for class, I put on my belt and was able to put it on the second hole and not the first! YAY!!!
Minor victory, but sooooo major for me! I haven't weighed myself since Thursday but I plan on it tonight after I leave the gym. Thanks again for the warm welcome and I'll be posting my weight Friday. = )
