I'm posting this here and not in the challenges forum because it isn't a challenge. I've hit a bit of a slump lately, and I need something new to motivate me. I find that sometimes when I participate in a challenge, it isn't the seeing how much weight loss I can get before a deadline that motivates me, it's the weight I see myself lose from week to week. So, I propose a chart that just shows your weight. That's it. No goals, no competition, just motivation. So here I start. Anyone can feel free to join me, I plan on editing my original post every week to add my new weight. If anyone wants to join, I suggest choosing any day that best works for you.

UPDATE: Hey all! I know i have been kind of slacking on my diet and I haven't been around much, but I'm back with a vengeance, and I hope everyone else is, too.

I really don't care if you edit your posts or not anymore, you can create a new post if you want to record your weight loss. I'm done being strict about it because I haven't been around lol. SO~ let's just see how we're doing.

Nicole/Gela-if you try the cycling and it works, let me know, I just want to be sure it's not all in my head-LOL.

 

Yay Kay!!! Isn't it nice to know it can come off without having to go to extremes?  

Oh wow, if many more people join I'm going to start getting confused! But I am SO happy that people are joining... this is a great group so far!

msaidafall - That is AWESOME about the belt! Sometimes the smallest victories make me the happiest :) Good luck with the weigh-in. I haven't checked your profile yet, but it should automatically add the forum to your own profile. Just go way down to the bottom like you do with mine and you should see it. Also, you can go to Community - My Posts, and your last post in this group should be there. Hope that helps!

kaydawson69 - Wow! 6 lbs in 4 weeks is so great! I agree, this site really is great. And this group too! It's amazing how small changes can influence your weight so much.

kwoodwarduga - Hi! You're not late at all... welcome any time! Congrats on the engagement!! You can use exercise as a way to de-stress maybe? And at the same time lose weight! Good luck!

Tomatotomata - I will definitely let you know how it all goes if I decide to try the cycling thing. The only problem is that I seem to cycle without even thinking about it most days because I'm not very consistent! :)

Gela - Just want to say HI! Haha. And thanks for making the group! It's going great!

Love this group. It gives me something to look forward to every time I log on to CC because I want to see the new posts!

msaidafall - I KNOW WHAT YOU MEAN! I've gone 3 belt loops in the past 2 months. And each belt loop makes a world of difference for me. Plus, on the topic of small victories, I was able to put my engagement ring back on for the 1st time today. YAAAY! Also, about finding this forum, you can always tag it. Above the main post it has a list of moderators, and below that it says library and then Tag It! If you click on that, from then on you can click on "My Account" then "Tagged Items" and then "Forums" and it will bring up the link to this group. Hope that helps.

kaydawson69 - Congrats on the 6 pounds!! We don't think you're starving yourself, lol. Sometimes the weigh just miraculously falls off! I love times like those. That's what I love about this group, sometimes you don't realize how much you have actually lost until you can add it all up in the little list from week to week. It makes a BIG difference!

kwoodwarduga - Wow! You screen name is a handful. Lol! WELCOME! You are never late. I'm so stoked for your wedding! I hope it's everything you ever dreamed of, and I hope this group can help along the way to your big day! Congrats!!

Well, my weigh-in is tomorrow, and I'm pretty darn stoked. Ever since I broke my plateau my weight loss has been nuts. I had a few bad days but it seems like that hasn't made too much of a difference since I'm still losing.

tomatotomata - So I want to try this calorie-cycling thing. If you could get me that link it would be much appreciated, then I could let you all know how it goes for me. =D

Thank you! I'm sure this will help a lot. Basically it's saying I should (for extreme weight loss, of course) stay at about 1400 cals, but once in the week jump to 1700, and once during the week jump to 1550. I think this sounds like a pretty good plan, so I'm shooting for 1400 today. Got about 400 left for dinner, so I'm doing pretty well so far.

Still really stoked about the weigh-in tomorrow! I'm really hoping today's weight sticks around! Or if I'm lighter tomorrow. I'd take that as well, lol.

Ok, so today's weight was 177. Yesterday was a bit lower, but I'm still down from last week by 2.8 pounds. =D It's probably that much because last week when I weighed in was inaccurate because of holding water or some kinda thing. In any case, I'm out of the 180s for good =D Happy day!

Bad news~ I went to the doctor's this morning because I've been having joint pain for months. The doctor says he thinks I have some form of arthritis. =( No wonder it's so hard for me to exercise. They took some blood and are waiting on confirmation which I probably won't hear back until Tuesday, but..... I'm pretty bummed.

Anyways, I hope everyone is doing well. I look forward to seeing everyone's weigh-ins!! Much love~

Thanks for all the encouragement!  I have never been in such a welcoming environment.  I really do need to sign in more often and actually count my calories... I have gotten to the point where I just wish myself thin, instead of actually taking any action.

Gela I am sorry to hear about your arthritis!  That is just terrible!

Sorry to hear that, Gela. Hopefully, your doc will have some good advice for you.

I'm 5"7" Female 46 Shooting for 138. Started at 190.  Already rocking some size 12s after pushing the size 14-16s.

June 28 176   Have not formally exercised all week and overate several days in a row.  Hope the damage doesn't look worse in another week or two.

I'm focused now on breaking into the 160s.  My husband and I have been together 7 years but never lived in the same house (long distance relationship) and we're about to join our lives under the same roof this summer.  I'm looking forward to bringing the youngest, healthiest, fittest body possible as our wedding gift.

I'm presently eating 1650 avg./daily and exercise 1/2 hour day (sweat and heart rate up) including weights 3x/week. 

Packing up my house to move and sending my only child off to college.  Lots and lots of change, including my physique.

 

I'm back! Sorry I haven't been around... my boyfriend's mom's wedding was this weekend so I was at Yosemite for that for the past few days. That also means I wasn't around for my weigh-in on Friday. In fact, I don't think I've weighed myself since Thursday. There's no doubt I gained weight over the weekend with all of the wedding food!! So maybe I'll go post my weight from Thursday... maybe just wait till this coming Friday. Who knows?! Haha, but this weekend was absolutely AMAZING!!!!! I hope everyone is well and I'm looking forward to getting back on track with CC after my off-diet weekend!

I'm not. I have had a horrible week. Not only have I gained weight despite diet and exercise, I also found out that I'm going to have to move my family in with my husband's parents to survive because we can no longer afford low-income housing. Sad. Also I still haven't heard anything about my arthritis but I have a very sinking feeling.

I feel like I want to give up, but I know I don't want to return to my old fat self. I just don't know what to do anymore. I need some encouragement big time before I fall off the wagon for good. I don't want to bring you guys down or anything, I just am struggling to keep my head above the surafce and just wanted to reach out my hand for anyone that wants to help pull me back up again. Thanks for being so great you guys. Much love.

I've been struggling with my weight since I was in my early teens. At 19 years old, after maaaany starts and stops, I finally feel as if I have the willpower to do this! As soon as I saw this thread, I realized this might be the place for me in the CC community.

since I last posted my weight has INCREASED!

 

I am currently studying for a CPA exam.  This is one of the most stressful times of my life.. I just graduated with a Masters, I am planning a wedding, I have no money, and I am trying to pass a ridiculous exam.  I know there is no excuse though.  I joined a gym that I am not going to.

I keep buying potato chips and cookies.

 

I know what I need to do... I just haven't got that will power for some reason.

Blegh. But I am happy with even this, because I have had a VERY rough week. Stress, water weight, binging......Awful. But I am back in it, and the weight has been shedding again. I promise I will try harder for next week. At least I'm down from my start weight, which for this challenge was 179, and all together was 186.5. So I am happy.

jessifm - Welcome! I'm so happy you joined us~ This really is a great place for motivation and sharing, so since you're just starting out this should be a great place for you! Congrats on the 5 pounds lost already! Amazing. Even if it was mostly water weight, who cares. Lol.

kwoodwarduga - Hey, don't give up! You can do it. I understand this is a really stressful time for you what with schooling and a wedding at the same time, but just think. When you feel like you're not in control of anythign anymore, imagine how you would feel if you lost control of your weight again too. If you stick to it, then down the road you will feel better knowing that when all hell broke loose you held on to your willpower to improve your body. I was totally strung out the other day, but then I picke dup exercise again and used it as my escape from my problems. I lost 1.5 pounds overnight - literally.

In other news~ I still have heard nothing from my doctor about my blood results for the arthritis tests. Frustrating. Also, it's official. I am moving at the end of July, but it seems that whoever I move in with will have internet, so I can still log calories. Hooray!

And who else is totally bummed that Michael Jackson died? =( I'm sorry, but I've always been a fan no matter what anyone said. He is a legend and will be missed.

Well today is supposed to be my weigh-in day, but I'm sitting for my boyfriend's little sister this week because their mom is on her honeymoon, and they don't have a scale at their house. Oh well... I'm kinda happy about that because I FOR SURE gained weight this week. I've been eating terrrribly!!! I don't even want to see my weight. Actually, I don't want to see my weight until a few days after my birthday because there will definitely be cake! Haha. Anyway, on a random note, I'm seeing My Sister's Keeper with my boyfriend's sister today and I'm SO excited!! Have any of you seen it yet?

Up to 182 today. I've been eating well and exercising daily, so I'd like to attribute it to TTOM--the side effects of which usually start to affect me a few days before it starts. I'll just keep doing what I'm doing, I'm sure it will pay off. 

A pound gained is no challenge to my motivation, anyway: in the past couple days, my  mom and dad have both commented that I look slimmer. :)
