25 pound challenge: Jul-Nov '09

This is a continuation group for the members of "25 pound challenge" which started in Feb and is to end June 30th.  I know many of us need to continue in our goals, and to kick it off I decided to start a new group -- hopefully this will give us extra motivation too!

The woman who started it all "pook" had the following original post, and I wanted to post it here so that we have the same ideas/goals/points.

I hope to see all the members of the old group, and any additional people who would like to join us!

I’m looking to start a support and accountability group whose main goal is to lose 25 pounds by the end of November. That’s about 1.5 lbs a week, which I think is very doable. I’m looking for folks who are losing with healthy diet and exercise, any plan is fine, but no “cabbage soup” fad diet nonsense, no pills, etc.  Just healthy lifestyle changes.

Goal: To lose 25 pounds by November 30th.

Motto: Who dares, wins!

Members: Anyone with 25 or more pounds to lose.

Post: Daily if possible. Post goals, daily food and exercise stats, problems, anything related to your weight loss journey. Post tips, articles, stories, anything helpful or motivating. Post recipes and exercise routines too, if you want.

I'm ekai, 25, 5'11.  I like to exercise and lift weights, but nothing specific because I switch it up a lot.  Anything that makes me move is good!  I need to eat 1200 calories a day in order to lose weight but I need some encouragement because I've not been sticking to it lately...  that's where you guys come in!

Hi Everyone, I did not make 210 this week as I wanted to, Still at 211 this am. I did go to the Dr. this am for a checkup and he was thrilled that I have lost 20 lbs. since the last visit. He was amazed that this was done on my own and was very impressed that I had a record of calorie intake since February of this year with me. I have has some days that show up on the monthly reports as C, C-, and C+, he was not alarmed at that and said to expect those days. As We discussed what I was doing and the records that I was keeping, this is an important part of the whole program, to look back and see what you did wrong on those bad days and try to correct yourself next time. So I am very pleased with my progress and looking forward to the weeks to come and loosing more each month.     Have a good week, Roger from Western NY.

Hi Guys, weighed in this am at 210lbs. down one for the week, realy got my hopes up yesterday when I weighed in at 208. That would have been nice but not to happen today. At least my graph is on a steady downward decline, that is good. I have to remember that it took 20 years to put the extra 100 lbs on so it will take time to get it off. Hi everyone, Weighed in this week at 210 lbs. again, at least did not gain anything. Still holding CC around 1560 average for the month, about 90 calories under what is recommended. Some will come off eventially, I hope.

You're doing great Roger.  My husband held at 210 for several weeks but he's 206 as of today.  You'll get there too!  I am still in a holding pattern in spite of keeping everything the same (just like you).  Am hoping it's just my body adjusting :)

booooo i'm still at 175!!! lost a grand total of 8lbs!!!

Hi everyone, weighed in this am at 209, loss of 1 lb. slow and steady, the line on the chart shows a slow steady decrease, that is good. We have to keep in mind that it took 20+ years to put this on, we will take it off the same way.  Have a good week, Roger from Western NY.

Good morning everyone, Weighed in yesterday at 209 again, just holding my own this week, only consuming 1600-1625 calories per day so hope some more of this weight comes off soon. Has been steady for the last couple of months but the chart still shows a downward trend so that is good. Have been doing yard work and repairs around the outside getting ready for winter which should be here soon. See you all next week, Roger from Western NY.
