Hey guys!

As of June 9th, I will have finished my second "30 day club" and I wanted to do one more big challenge/motivational game before I cease organizing and return to joining.  

Why 42?  Because I like Monday and Thursday weigh ins, and this way, we end on a Monday... And by doing it this way, I will have done this for more than 100 days. Plus, this puts the dreaded July 4th holiday smack dab in the middle, so even if we hit a bump, we've got a couple weeks to buffer it once we're done.

(And on a personal note, I go into production on July 22nd - which means my challenges get different - I have to figure out how to keep on track when I'll be spending ten hours a day in a room with other writers, and surrounded by sunchips and candy bars.)

So!

Starting June 9th, 2008 and going through July 22nd, 2008!  

First weigh in:  Monday June 9th, second weigh in Thursday June 12th and we just keep going until the 22nd of July!    Who's in?

P.S.   I will be doing my measuring via the Nintendo Wii Fit so, there will probably be a blunt drop in my weight between the two forums.  But as of June 9, that's my scale (unless I'm out of town, then I'll do the best I can.)

P.S.S.  This time, I'm going to suggest that any of you/us that are on facebook also use facebook.  Constant updates, IMing, and all that jazz.    I'm on there as marmel (AT) marmel (DOT) com if you wanna find me.

Hey, all!

Okay, so for more than 100 days, I've worked with a lot of great people to drop weight. I've dropped a lot.

I still want to drop a little more, but only as I add muscle. So... this is a challenge for both. Over the next eight weeks, we:

1) Will weigh in twice a week. Mondays and Thurdays.

2) On Mondays, we need to check body fat and BMI and see where we're at. It doesn't matter how you measure this stuff, as long as you keep measuring it the same way over the course of the challenge. :)

It won't be pretty.. BUT... I think it's a nice honing mechanism for those of us that are getting closer to our goal, while still working together with those that have a little more to lose.

Eight weeks! Who's in?

P.S. Right now, I have a lousy scale with a very rough estimate of Body fat. Anybody got any suggestions of what I should buy before Monday?

I'll join you again.  You should pm bpcrue, I think he's out of town according to previous post... but he's good for info on that stuff and will likely want to be in the next challenge again.  He was saying the scales that measure bf% are terrible back when I asked.

 

One of my buddy's has one of the handheld electronic ones and swears by it.  Some of the reviews I've read on those say they're pretty accurate, but who really knows?  (the people that have done the submersion tests and can compare).  My scale put me at 23.1% or something this morning.... my buddy's handheld a few weeks ago said 19.x a few weeks ago.. I don't know.. I'll see if he has it with him at work today and try it out :D  No clue of my actual bf% to compare though...

  • 26th - Camping!
  • 30th - 194.00 - Grr! This challenge is NOT going well for me =/    I WILL make a come back!
  • 3rd - 190.00 - Yay!
  • 7th - 188.50 - Yay again!
  • 10th - 187.50 - I think it really DOES help when I go to the gym as planned... who would have thought it ;)

    Ok, so something weird was going on on the 14th.  I said I thought it might be ttom, but I don't think it was cause it hasn't started yet (I'm not regular).  Who knows. Maybe a bunch of things.  I haven't gone on a hunger strike or anything.  1200 - 1500 each day.  Probably more yesterday cause I ate out and not sure how to measure the stuff we had.

    Wow! Talk about a jumpstart to a stall.  I have been doing nothing and then I lost 3 pounds in 3 days.  That doesn't sound right but I weighted myself a couple of times before work and that is what the scale said so that is what I am posting.

    I guess we will see how the weekend goes.

    Okay, so, it ended with one point higher than I was four days ago but overall, this was a nine pound success.
    I allowed myself more food this weekend as I'm about to go into a different phase of diet and exercise and, to be fair, I haven't been to the can in two days.  But... on to new things!

    Yeah! Finally broke that 150 mark!  Too bad I got a new scale that shows body fat and it says 152.6 or something!  That's ok though.  I'll stick with the old scale for this challenge and transition to the new scale for the next challenge.  I know the movement is more important than the number!

    July  21st  152.0 :) Well, this run was one hell of a battle. My weight was up and down, and I came out of it kicking A and taking names. I lost 7 pounds and I feel good.
