Hey guys!

As of June 9th, I will have finished my second "30 day club" and I wanted to do one more big challenge/motivational game before I cease organizing and return to joining.

Why 42?  Because I like Monday and Thursday weigh ins, and this way, we end on a Monday... And by doing it this way, I will have done this for more than 100 days. Plus, this puts the dreaded July 4th holiday smack dab in the middle, so even if we hit a bump, we've got a couple weeks to buffer it once we're done.

(And on a personal note, I go into production on July 22nd - which means my challenges get different - I have to figure out how to keep on track when I'll be spending ten hours a day in a room with other writers, and surrounded by sunchips and candy bars.)

So!

Starting June 9th, 2008 and going through July 22nd, 2008!

First weigh in:  Monday June 9th, second weigh in Thursday June 12th and we just keep going until the 22nd of July!    Who's in?

 - Steve

P.S.   I will be doing my measuring via the Nintendo Wii Fit so, there will probably be a blunt drop in my weight between the two forums.  But as of June 9, that's my scale (unless I'm out of town, then I'll do the best I can.)

P.S.S.  This time, I'm going to suggest that any of you/us that are on facebook also use facebook.  Constant updates, IMing, and all that jazz.    I'm on there as marmel (AT) marmel (DOT) com if you wanna find me.

Hi - Is it too late to join this challenge? If so I would like to join. I will need to post my weight later as I am at work but it's around 175 lbs probably. I am female, 5'7", large frame.

Goals:

1. drop 10 lbs

2.  do 2 hours of exercise each week (like 30 minutes 4 times per week)

Is it too late???

O.K. everyone, here is the skivvy

I'm a 5'4"

SW:200

GW: lose 9-12 lbs

GA: Aerobic activity 5+ times per week

Weight training 2-3 times per week

JUNE 12: Okay, I think my scale is wack. I calibrated it using free weights, yet my numbers seem off. I have been HIGHLY motivated to count calories and force myself to the gym, (Last night was Spinning - UGH!) since joining this challenge. And I do retain water, but 4lbs in half a week seems unlikely to me. Anywho, here are the numbers.

I met my calorie goals today and drug myself to the gym. :)
I love challenges

to all...

It's not too late.  Welcome aboard.

So, tomorrow will suck for me, I can see it already.

Somehow, through the simple fact of attempting to NOT fall, I turned my hips one way, my lower torso another way, and my upper torso a third way.  As though I were a **** designed action figure.

This has caused two things:

1)  A lack of exercise.  Hard to lift weights when you can barely stand.

2)  Something I'm going to call the "Celebrex Bump."  An anti-inflammatory pain medicine that can cause constipation AND water retention.

So... Im holding fluids AND solids.  Woo.  If I get out of Thursday without gaining two, I'll be stunned beyond measure.

And now, I'm going to return to uh... wincing.

Marmell,

Your weight gain "may or may not happen." I know you are going to bounce back. Just take care of yourself and rest. You can still lose weight just by focusing on your food intake. But, you have one hell of a reason here for weight gain. I've taken anti-inflammatory meds. for a twisted ankel, and it wasn't nice. It made me sleep. When you are taking those things.. Just watch your sodium intake.

I did this 8 months ago, and guess what my trainer said to me... Next time just fall... I was trying to not hit the pavement at the gym as I walked out the door I tripped. I was trying to catch the fall... I was lucky the E.R. Doctor said.. I could have broken my ankel, but I didn't.

Just take care of yourself, and don't worry about what the scales are going to say..

Hello Everyone--

I have not been around CC for a while and what better way to get back on track than with a challenge!

SW:155
GW:140
Goals:  See ab results!!!

Marmel13 -- how are you liking the Wii Fit?  I am considering picking one up.

can i join? just dicovered this thread. my june 9 weight was (i weigh daily) 211 lbs (not my lowest weigh since i have started CC, but fortunately close to it, and followed by further losses i hope). my all time goal weight is 140 lbs

Lynn~

Love the new picture! and I love your advice to marmel ("next time just fall.")  I don't seem to have a problem with falling.  I have more of a problem with walking, lol.

Speaking of walking, (nice segue, huh?) I walked a mile today.  I have a 4 mile route that I started doing, but my knee spasmed on the last leg, so I got new shoes and took it easy this week.  So it's a light week for exercise, but I am watching very carefully what I eat.  I would love to get off this dang plateau, lol.

Marmel~

You need to take it easy there, as if you didn't know that.  And like someone else here asked, what do you think of the wii fit? I'm considering it as well.

Ka - Welcome aboard.

Eileneg - I loves me the wiifit.  The device itself is kind of prickish with it's advice, but I've figured out how to do the running exercises using my stationary bike (less hard on the knees) and the rhythm boxing is a good work out.

Basically, if you'll use it, it's awesome.  Otherwise, it's another super heavy thing in the middle of my floor I can not trip over and hurt myself with.  :)

Eileneg, Thanks! It was time to update. I hope you take it easy. I hate it when my legs start to spas. It's not the best feeling in the world... 4 mile route that's great.  I have a hard time staying on my feet from time to time.. I can have a clear area, and still trip over my foot and fall. LOL.....

june 12 - 206 lbs. hopefully am back on track after eating not so good.

Can I still join? I need a kick to lose before holidays.  I'm 5'3" and would like to lose 14 lbs this challenge.

My goals include:

1500 -1700 calories per day

exercise at least 5X per week (at least 45 min each session)

  1. 9th: 204
  2. 12th
  3. 16th
  4. 19th
  5. 23rd
  6. 26th

  8. 3rd
  9. 7th
  10. 10th
  11. 14th
  12. 17th
  13. 21st

Can you say plateau???  That's me right now.  Have to add some calories to my diet to see if that will help get me out.  I've hovered at this weight now for 6 days, which is not a tragedy, but I've got to get it back to moving down.

Good Luck to all!

Marmel  I hope your feeling a little better this morning.  I know it can take a few days for the worst to come out but then hopefully you'll heal up quickly.  On a side note did you go to the doctors?  Did they notice your weight loss?

Lynnhaslost oh yes she has!  Your new pic's are wonderful!

I have finally gotten back into walking and I do the push lawn thing too,  but alas  I knew it was going to happen but I was hoping to stop it in it's tracks...

I gained over a pound since Monday, and I'll probably gain another by next Monday:(  That's okay I know it's just water and this is just how I started the last challenge and I still averaged a pound to a pound and a half a week loss.
