42 Day Challenge - Starting June 9th!
Hey guys!
As of June 9th, I will have finished my second "30 day club" and I wanted to do one more big challenge/motivational game before I cease organizing and return to joining.
Why 42? Because I like Monday and Thursday weigh ins, and this way, we end on a Monday... And by doing it this way, I will have done this for more than 100 days. Plus, this puts the dreaded July 4th holiday smack dab in the middle, so even if we hit a bump, we've got a couple weeks to buffer it once we're done.
(And on a personal note, I go into production on July 22nd - which means my challenges get different - I have to figure out how to keep on track when I'll be spending ten hours a day in a room with other writers, and surrounded by sunchips and candy bars.)
So!
Starting June 9th, 2008 and going through July 22nd, 2008!
First weigh in: Monday June 9th, second weigh in Thursday June 12th and we just keep going until the 22nd of July! Who's in?

P.S. I will be doing my measuring via the Nintendo Wii Fit so, there will probably be a blunt drop in my weight between the two forums. But as of June 9, that's my scale (unless I'm out of town, then I'll do the best I can.)
P.S.S. This time, I'm going to suggest that any of you/us that are on facebook also use facebook. Constant updates, IMing, and all that jazz. I'm on there as marmel (AT) marmel (DOT) com if you wanna find me.
Goals:

i love the begining of eating well & exercising because you can actually see results - i'm dreading a couple weeks from now when it doesn't come off as easily. my brother graduates from high school tonight so that means lots of italian food - yikes.
Guess it's harder when you try to just lose last 10-15 lbs. Arg!
Goals:
1) Weigh between 128-130, and
2) Upper my exercise regimen/eat more calories (that part is very challenging for me)

- 16th (It's my Birthday that day! I'll weigh in first thing in the am and I know I'll eat cake & treat myself by pigging out that day and will workout harder for next 2 days before weighing in on 19th!)

Okay, I think my scale is wack. I calibrated it using free weights, yet my numbers seem off. I have been HIGHLY motivated to count calories and force myself to the gym, (Last night was Spinning - UGH!) since joining this challenge. And I do retain water, but 4lbs in half a week seems unlikely to me. Anywho, here are the numbers.

Okay, so, after a week of 'maintenance' eating, I'm ready to give this another shot! My body has had enough time to adjust and plateau, but ENOUGH IS ENOUGH!! :D

Apparently, I am a retard and don't know how to reply to just a certain message.
Don't sweat it. What your doing now is great. I gained up to 194 when I had my daughter and I had to really cut back at first to see the results.
I cut out all sodas except for a coke zero once a week for a treat. I cut out all juice except for 1 cup minute maid light with breakfast and 1 cup of milk with cereal in the morning.
I drink only water, crystal light or hint. I have to buy hint on-line because they don't offer it in my area. It is just water with juice flavor in it.
If I ever get a sweet fixation, I buy the bags of the Hershey's miniatures and eat only one that day. It does the trick.
I also keep my own personal calendar for my water intake, my exercises and when I have my Hershey miniature for the week and when I have my soda for the week.
Right now I eat between 1450 and 1750 calories. Depending on the day.
I know all this seems really excessive but until I reach my goal this is what I feel comfortable doing so I can monitor myself. I am now at 159.8 today so I am making slowly, but making it. I did drop 10 pounds instantly because of the no soda rule though.
Hope I gave you some good ideas.

Thanks Marmel13 for the Wii Fit info. I went out and got one. Can't wait to try it out. Good to know about the prickishness! Not surprising after playing Tiger Woods Golf. They rip you to shreds on that one!

leanne~ Thanks you so much. I have 14 pounds to lose, and I'm almost in a size 12, and I can't believe it myself. I got a pair of pants that was a size 12 last year, and pulled them out and tried them on.. First try was... Stopping under my butt, and now.. I can get them over my butt... Now it's time to get the fit of the jeans to hit my lower back, and when I do that.. I am, and I will post pic's of that moment. That's what I am shooting for now... Those pants to fit me just right. I use clothes to help with the weight loss. A few months ago.. It was a size 14, and now I am working on a 12..... I'm still a work in progress and I got a lot more to lose.

Just do your best, and go for what you know. That's how I think. I always tell myself to keep it moving. I have no room to be lazy now. I just have to move more. The more you move the more weight you lose.
5'4" You're taller than me. LOL... I'm 5'0", and I can't believe this shortie "me" came this far in the weight race. It's a race to live, and to be fit. I think I am more fit now than ever.
My kids get a kick out of it. Me running around, riding bikes, and trying to keep up with them. Racing them in the yard, and running with the dogs. They really do love the new me. They enjoy this, and I don't think I could ever take this mom away from them.
They love this mom. My youngest said to me.. I hope you never get "Fat" again.
I had to ask her why, and she said.. The smaller you is fun. I like the smaller you much better. The "Fat" you was lazy. No fun or games. LOL... So, this is all for my children. It started off with a journey of finding myself, and wanting to live longer for my children. Now, it's all about making sure I keep the weight off so I can have happy children for life.

Okay, so between the back tweak and vacation, I'm not exercising as much as I like.. but there's a personal trainer waiting to kick my ass as of Wednesday, so I'll live.
Im still doing well with the diet - lots of fruit to eat here, fish and salads. I think I can keep it around 1700 and not screw myself with the crunchy and the fried...
