Should I change anything?

Quote  |  Reply

Hi, I am new to this website and need a little help. I am 61 yrs old, weight 213 my goal is (190 by april 24th going on a cruise) & 5'6" tall.

My cal. intake was 1350 for the day. This is the break down. Can you tell me if I'm on track or should I cut down on some of the things and increase others.

Any help would be appreciated?

Thanks,

Maddie

welcome, maddie.

these are the guidelines i follow:

40-50% Carbs

25-35% protein

20-30% fat

Under 2300 mg of sodium

Over 25 grams of fiber
Smile

While you should try to eat things low in fat, and carbs that have a good glycemic index (whole wheat pastas, brown rice, etc.) and high protein, you should focus on your calorie intake and those basic guidelines and the rest should fall into place.  You'll find that those kinds of carbs are less calories, and if you cook with low fat it will have less calories too.  Steam veggies, add I can't believe it's not butter SPRAY (0 calories) etc., and it will fall into place.

Thank you talkdoc,

Looks like I'm staying with-in the guidelines, maybe up my protein a little.

Thanks for replying
