Change 1 letter, ADD 1 letter, or DROP 1 letter

So here is a spin off of the "Change 1 letter game"...Instead of just changing one letter, why not add or drop a letter sometimes also....

Such as late:
Change a letter: gate
Add a letter: elate
Drop a letter: ate

But you can only do one at a time, not all of them....so I'll start it off...
